In the shadow of the HUGE announcement coming up by CAS-ual Fridays, but still noticeable to all of its fans, this week's challenge is to put our heart into it:
And nota penne, there's a fabby prize up for grabs from I Heart Papers!
I recently picked up a punny stamp in the For Sale Cheap bin at our local craft store which is perfect for this challenge.
Since I used a snippet of white and a piece of black cord from God-knows-where, I'm also linking up with the cray-cray pixies over at Di's playground, aptly called Pixie's Crafty Workshop, Snippets Challenge Week 42. I know you all use snippets, so you should join the fun! BTW, I made a typo in the title, calling it "Snipperts," but I kinda like that so I'm leaving it.

Happy First Blog'versary To Me!!
One year ago I set sail on this blogship. It was scary. I had no clue what I was doing. It took some time to feel at home, but as encouraging comments came in from all you kind and gentle people, and as more and more of you clicked on that "join this site" button to follow, I've relaxed and now feel comfortable being my nutterball-and-jelly self.
I've learned some things and have some thoughts about my blog journey this past year. (Naturally.) I'm thinking I might write them down and add a page tab at the top of my blog for any newbies that might be interested.
But today I want to start by thanking the Mister for his support of my fabtasmic hobby and for my little Playhouse. Mwah!
Although you are all special to me, on this first anniversary I would like to send a very personal shout-out to Mynnette Kitchen of On A Stampage. My first few posts garnered no views, and no comments. It was so depressing! But then, joy, joy, the next few posts each had one lovely comment and they were all from the same person, Mynnette. She was also my very first follower! Thank you, Mynnette. You're a doll!
From then on, I've continued to be amazed as each new follower or subscriber has signed on, and as each lovely comment pops up. I'm as excited about the last ten followers as I was about the first ten; as thrilled by yesterday's comments as I was about Mynnette's a year ago, and just as appreciative!
So thank you so much to each and every one of you for all the love, whether you follow, or subscribe, or comment! Or, praise to pickles, all three!! Mwah!! Mwah!! Mwah!! Okay, no need to get all weird.
But Iguana love you forever!

Congrats Darnell!! Happy Blogversary!
ReplyDeleteLove that adorable stamp - and the pop of red - it would be a perfect Myrtle Beach card (I'm back!!) And Happy Blog-versary! I think you were my first follower (other than my sister, who counts, but in a different way! lol!)
ReplyDeletePeople follow blogs for different reasons, I'm sure. I don't have many at present but that's okay. I do it for me as well as for those who show any interest at all.
ReplyDeleteAs for you, anyone with a kooky sense of humor should be following you. Cardmaking or scrapping aside, your blog brings a smile to my face. Happy Blogaversary - and many more!
Hi Darnell, I cannot believe you have only been blogging for a year - you are such an expert and a natural, I thought you had been at it (as it were) forever! Many, many congratulations. Yours is such an entertaining blog, I would not miss it for the world - I am just a newby at only 9 months.
ReplyDeleteLove your card BTW, perfect for this blog post and here's to many more!
Crafty hugs, Anne x
Congratulations, Darnell!
ReplyDeleteI have been meaning to write you and your Blogaversary is the perfect occasion for letting you know that I have been truly enjoying your blog for a while now (don't think you can tell because I copied it onto my Google reader but I am not a "Follower" because I think it would be redundant but not sure. Maybe someone could enlighten me...?). Anyways, your sense of humor makes me chuckle almost every time! Absolutely love reading your blog! Thank you so much!
Don't have a blog myself but I am very tempted if only to find out how this all works (see above). But I am not sure if I would find the time for it. Also, unfortunately I spend more time looking at all those wonderful blogs out there than making cards...
Congrats on your one year anniversary!
ReplyDeleteYour too funny! I love your site not just because of your cards but your witty personality that shines through in your post! Happy 1 year anniversary!
ReplyDeleteHappy blogaversary Darnell! I love your humor as well as your awesome creations!! Have a great next year!!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Harriet

Happy Blog-versary and many more! Love this card ~ it definitely did make me smile!
ReplyDeleteHappy Blogaversary! Isn't this just so much fun?? You are just so fun to read and I have to say that I always look forward to your next post, it always brings a smile to my face. Some days are just so busy that I don't even have time to think but then I read your post and all is well with the world. Thank you for always being so funny and witting too. I look forward to your second year of more incredible creations and funnies.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations... your a real pro, never would have guessed it's only a year. I look forward to your posts and they always delight me. I'm guana follow you forever. Too cute!
ReplyDeleteFirstly, a BIG congrats on your blogaversary. I can understand where you're coming from.(bad syntax, but you KWIM)! Always enjoy reading your posts. I like your way of expressing a thought. Get lots of chuckles here (as well as inspiration too!) Can't say how many times I've referred your onion layer link to somebody who perhaps needed to read it. Loved the card, too, and snipperts is eggzactly a good way to refer to the Palyground! Much better than our Yank 'scraps' word. Be looking forward to your 'new page', as you always have some inner-restin' adventure to read about! YAY for you...Thanks to Mynnette also, for keeping you encouraged til all of us found you!!! Hugs
ReplyDeleteShouting into the void when you start blogging is really hard! I'm so glad you persevered, because man, do I love reading your crazy bits :) And I think I want to start saying "praise to pickles," because really, I love pickles. And praise is a lovely thing to get, and they are deserving of it ;)
ReplyDeleteIguana tell you also that I just love that pun!
Happy Blogaversary Darnell! That image is so darn cute. Can't wait to see what year two brings.
ReplyDeleteI have to start this over. I was on my ipad and lost everything. Love the cute stamp that you used for this sweet card.
ReplyDeleteHappy Blogaversary! You make us all smile and laugh out loud. So we are so happy you stuck it out.
My first post was with a blog hop and got many comments. My next post i didn't get any went to the PTI forum to see what was wrong. No one had the heart to tell me I just didn't have any followers and no one knew I posted anything. I thought for sure something was broke or down.I am still learning…… you look like a pro!
Congrats on your Blogaversary! I think we all had very humble beginnings when we started our blogs - I know I sure did! I stalked blogs for well over 2 yrs before I took the plunge!
ReplyDeleteGreat card, and so cute for the heart challenge!
Happy blogversary, Darnell! We in blogland are fortunate to have you among us. Your great creations and funny stories are a constant source of smiles. Keep on bloggin'!
ReplyDeleteIt takes a lot of courage to put yourself out there for people to judge Darnell, luckily for us you have the personality to carry it through. I think I visited my own blog more than anyone when I first started but I truly understand the joy of one comment or twenty. Funny card, suits you down to the ground! And I do have another card to show tomorrow, although if you cuss at me again I might think twice about posting it, mwah!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs
Brenda
