LIMMers and WOYWWers and Hump Days, O'La!
Actuary, it's only Tuesday night here, but if I wait until after work tomorrow, it will be Thursday for a lot of you and since the Stamping Ground is already open, I'm going in.
On my desk are Tidy and Neat. They play here often. I've finished my card for this week's Less Is More (below) challenge and I'm in the process of sorting my stash of cards into piles.
This time around most of them are going to my local Curves chapter where they are holding an awesome fundraiser for breast cancer research. Some are going to the office basket where my kind coworkers sometimes find a card they need for just a couple of bucks. And a few really fancy-smancy ones are going for sale at a local bootie queue. You might spell it boutique in your neck of the words.

This is week 88 (a colour week) at LIM and the duo divas, Mandi and Chrissie, are challenging us to use silver on ourhair cards. This challenge is being sponsored by the fabulous WOW Embossing
powders. Here is my simple-dimple card:

I coulda used this stamp and design for last week's Love & Marriage challenge, too, had I thought of it. Like the rest of you, I had trouble photographing the beauty of the shiny silver paper and silver embossing, but I know you can use your imaginuity!

Love that embossing, so stunning and so classy! Your photo shows it off so well. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh I am sure your cards will be snapped up fast for the fundraiser.. The embossing is lovely, love the blue. I use the technique you said about with the aluminium foil around the cardboard for my embossing it works really well. TFS. Sandy :) #65
ReplyDeleteBootie queue...erm, that brings to mind a rather different scenario!!! I think I'd be at the front of it if it were judged on size... *snigger*
ReplyDeleteLovely tidy desk though and the silvery-ness of that card shimmered its way across the Atlantic to Wiltshire...very smart :)
Hugs, LLJ #53 xx

Love the neat desk and such a lot of lovely cards in view. What a lovely thing to do, make them for a worthwhile charity. I recycle mine for the same charity.
ReplyDeleteGreat "Silver" card too.

Return the flavor? lol And bootie-queue? You realize you'll have all of us saying this stuff in real life, and then having to explain where we learned it, right? :)
ReplyDeleteLook at all that Neat & Tidy! Total fabulousness putting together something you love doing for such a great fundraiser. I know I love doing it :)
Wow - I didn't know Messrs Neat and Tidy were international jet setters! They come and play on my desk regularly too!

ReplyDeleteOh for a desk like yours! You can see my mess on my blog. Great embossing, not a speck in sight.
ReplyDeleteSo that's where Mr Neat & Tidy went after they left here! Lovely to see all those piles of cards all sitting there, the charity will be happy, and that sunshine too! Great LIM card, i need to get in gear with card making again soon. Vera is a great detective show, more mystery and detection than blood and guts, great characterizations too, and My Eye Candy too, what more could a girl want!!

What a beautiful card! I was thinking, going to a wedding next weekend if I can make a good enough card or I should buy! I don't know if I looked in the sidebar of your blog before but I am so jealous right now of your little hide away! That would be perfect for me because then my kids couldn't fit inside to disturb me LOL but they'll find a way. Tamika #14
ReplyDeleteHi Darnell,
ReplyDeleteI feel as though I'm late in joining in (and it's only 1:00 p.m. here right now). Oh, would you send Tidy and Neat to my house?!?
The cards on your table look fantastic. How nice to have a basket at work for co-workers to purchase. Too bad that is against policy where I work.
Happy WOYWW

Such a neat and tidy desk! Love the silver on the blue!
ReplyDeleteSome day you shall have to introduce me to Tidy and Neat. Perhaps we could become fabulous friends! I love the simplicity of your silver card. And I do indeed have imginuity! I just never knew it was called that!
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW. A lovely tidy desk and some wonderful cards for charity/sale. Ali x #67
ReplyDeleteHi Dippy - can you please, pretty please, send your friends Neat and Tidy over to sit upon my desk??? They only arrive once in a blue moon (and you know how often they come around!). Your card is lovely; the champagne flutes look so elegant embossed in silver. It suddenly dawned on me that you must have turned your spell checker off otherwise your posts would be littered with red lines like you'd done some bad work at school!! lol
ReplyDeleteHugs.

You have been busy Darnell. That is an amazing amount of cards to produce and such a good cause too. Hope they raise loads of money (which, by the look of your LIM card they should!) I've posted a card made with some of my gift from Anne if you are interested. You are so right. She has such a kind and generous heart - one of life's angels. See you next week, hugs Buttons #82
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, that is quite a stack of card you have sorted there!
ReplyDeleteglad that Tidy and Neat enjoyed their holidays with you. I do need them back by next week and I am going to try making my first card post op and will need them back and put them to work.
Darnell, this card is stunning. The silver/blue and carefully placed brads are perfectly elegant. Thank you for your kind visit!
ReplyDeleteWow, look at all those cards on your desk! You've been a busy lady. Great job on the detailed silver embossing, Darnell!
