CFC78 ~ I'm SO Torn! and DD28 Sand with Cherry and Pixie's 46

Hi Y'all Y'all,

Just a quickie today.  I think I overdid it yesterday.

I've used some snipperts today, so I'm going to play with my playmates over at Pixie's Crafty Workshop, now that the fire infestation has been completed and no one cottoned to my involvement.  Phew, that was a close one!  I also want to play in the CAS-ual Fridays (CFC78) challenge, which is down to less than a day.  And finally, since I haven't played with them for a while, I'm joining another favorite, the Dynamic Duos, (DD28), which is also down to less than a day.  So here we go.

The DD28 challenge colors are sahara sand and cherry cobbler.  It sort of got in my teeth, but was delicious nevertheless.

The CFC78 challenge was to create a card with something "torn" on it.

Well, as Whoopi would say, "Now, child, you know I had to go in a whole nother directory with this idea!"

I have had this set of Stamping Up! stamps with kids on them for a long time.  In the set there is a stamp of a little boy which has always (apologies to the artist) made me go, "huh?" while cocking my head to the side.  Here it is:

Is it just me or doesn't that kid look like he has three faces!  Those two ears have always looked like extra noses to me.  I cannot believe that I have this golden opportunity to do this with it:

"I'm SO torn!"

I thought it was too good to pass up, so I masked off that annoying little face and did a little plastic surgery.  He has piggie noses now, no question about it, but I decided it was better that than three faces.  No?

~~~
Before I go have a lie down (and after that, you might feel like one also), I wanted to tell you, if you haven't already heard, that there is a new CAS challenge hitting the sphere in like one day which is called Addicted to CAS!  (Love that banner art, ladies!)  If you like CAS, there's always room for another challenge and I wish the DT all the best with their new adventure!  They are having a fabulous prize give-away, too!  Scoot.
~~~

Enjoy your day!  No, seriously, enjoy your day.

As always, thank you for stopping by to visit.  Special thanks to you if you take the time to join as a follower or leave a comment!

Also, go collect your commission cheque from the new blog - we've all signed up - they're up to almost 100 members already, due, in no small part, to you, I'm sure!

  5. I thought he had 3 faces too..and very ugly ears. For a stampin up stamp he was quite surprising.
    Great card. Off to check out that challenge...what exactly is a CAS card? Off to see their definition.
    Wondering if some of my quickie cards would qualify.

  6. What a great way to use that stamp! It is a bit eerie to see those ears/noses on that poor little guy, but you did a great job of remaking him!

  10. Darnell, I have never left a comment and sure 'nuf, my first one disappeared. This is try #2. I can so relate to your latest adventures. I'm what the local church people call a "shut-in" - that just shouts the South doesn't it? I love visiting with you most days and love your work! My stamping is somewhat limited now but I enjoy seeing what others create. It keeps the dream alive. I hope you are on the mend now. Since it's almost Thanksgiving, it's apropos to say, "I'm thankful for finding you on the WWW. Brenda Carswell

  11. Well you might have overdone it yesterday but you're on top form today! Saw immediately what you meant about 3 faced boy - nearly choked on my cuppa! I think your "so torn" card deserved top prize for inginuity - it's brilliant (bit like you....). Thanks for the shout out for our new challenge blog Addicted to CAS. We're really excited about it.

    Hugs.

  16. Ha, ha - just on the way to bed and this woke me up with a start! Really clever - and, as already commented, his odd shoes and sox are so eyecatching. Just gonna go back and check how many eyes he has now!

    No need to hide behind the slide in the Playground, I'm sure I saw the mark of Darnell (as opposed to the mark of Zorro) burned into one of the seats on the swings :) Hugs, Di xx

  17. I did a double take when I saw this stamp. You're right, he looks like he has 3 faces or a really fat face! I love your card! What a creative way to interpret this challenge!

  18. Hahahaha. Since you're such a great plastic surgeon, I'd just cut off those ears and have a normal boy.
