Sunday Greetings!
It is with heavy hearts that we continue with our holiday preparations.
This week's CAS(E) this Sketch gives us a wonderful sketch to make those few last-minute Christmas cards that we always need.
And this week's ColourQ gives us the perfect colors to use in those few last-minute Christmas cards that we always need.
How perfect is that? Those snowpeeps are just cheek-pinchin' adoragible!! And those different shades of green are so perfect given that Mother Nature always uses several shades of green when making her trees, so I tried to replicate her work.
I love the simple city of evergreens and pine cones on a Christmas card. Plus, it's one layer for the added benefit of mailing ~ EZPZ!!

Our treat today is the arrival of Flora Hunt to our party! Welcome, Flora! We're so happy to have you along for the journey!
~~~
Enjoy your day! No, seriously, enjoy your day.
May you strive to make your personal space a place where you treat others well, as you would like to be treated. It seems so easy, if only we could remember that basic tenet of a civil society. We don't forget that we aren't supposed to eat dirt, why then is it so hard to remember the Golden Rule?
As always, thank you for stopping by to visit. Special thanks to you if you take the time, at this busy time, to join as a
follower or leave a comment!
Gorgeous CAS card. I love green boughs and pinecones at Christmas...I keep trying to get DH to go for a walk to the abandoned lots a couple of blocks away. They are going to bulldoze the trees and I want to snitch a few boughs!
I'm confused about the heavy heart Darnell... (maybe you should have a sit down and a cup of tea?) but I adore the gorgeous result of your collaboration with mother nature! Vicky x
The world would be a better place if we all practiced the Golden Rule and if we make sure to see the beauty in God's creation! These pine boughs are so realistic and beautiful! One of my favorite Christmas decorations!
Beautiful Christmas card - serene and peaceful! Thanks so much for playing along with CAS(E) This Sketch, Darnell!
What a wonderful use of this sketch! You are absolutely right - there are a lot of greens in nature - and layering them up like that gives it so much dimension!!
P.S. I hope your heart isn't too heavy!
This is gorgeous!
Gorgeous card, great take on the sketch. Hugs!
Lovely Darnell - love the crisp greens on the white and that vertical sentiment is great!
What a lovely card with those graceful pines!! Gorgeous design!
Congrats on your win with Vera Yates too! Woot! We both landed in the winner's circle for a prize!
Gorgeous gorgeous card Darnell! I love the colours you used and the fantastic stamping.
Peaceful and quietly lovely. Why not indeed, I suspect it is a lack of thinking at all. Makes those who practice even a bit of thoughtfulness quite special..hugs,
A truly beautiful design on your gorgeous CAS card Darnell. It is so very stylish. It is certainly hard not to have a heavy heart in the light of so much tragedy and you are so right about the Golden Rule. I feel so sad for those families......... Hugs, Anne x
Beautiful!! Thanks for sharing it with us at the ColourQ!!
Beautiful card, Darnell. I love how you've incorporated all the greens, just like Mother Nature herself.
I love the colour variations! Perfectly lovely. And really, comparing the Golden Rule to eating dirt? It should be that simple, shouldn't it? If children can usually grasp this rule, why can't we as adults?
So fresh and crisp I can smell the pine oil. Well done and darling.
Yes, with heavy hearts. Mine truly does ache for the families of that horrible tragedy.
Winner, winner, winner - I'd bet on it! This is fabulous. You nailed this challenge hands down. Mother Nature would be proud of your pine boughs!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the verticle sentiment!
Super elegant design! Love the way you have stamped the pine leaves!
Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS(E) this Sketch!
Don't like the mention of the heavy heart Dippy, but absolutely adore your card. It is absolutely beautiful! I see you've used SU stamps "unknown" - now I know how you store your stamps I realise why you don't know which set they are from......but I don't care as your creation is splendid.
Hugs.
Those branches and pine cones are so perfect, especially to go along with the sketch.
Your card is amazing! Great use of this week's colors. Thanks for joining us this week at the ColourQ.
Fabulous card, Darnell, I just love your holiday greenery! Thanks for playing with us this week at the colourQ and sharing your card. Have a blessed holiday.
Such a gentle and serene card ... all the fresh greens make the image just jump off the page ... so lovely Anita :)
I adore this, Darnell. The softness of the evergreens and pinecones is so perfect. I can almost smell that quintessential holiday smell. Thanks so much for playing with us at CAS(E) This Sketch - we're so glad you did!
Love your use of greens for dimension, Darnell! It's a really great effect. So great looking through your blog tonight to catch-up. Here's to a magical Christmas for you and your family!
oh, and yes, I cut three different silver chains and cut them at different lengths for the barn star card you were asking about. And those stars are adhered to the base with the tiniest bit of glue on the edges. You just hold it in place for a minute or so and you're good to go. I hope you give it a try!!!
Oh my ~ so much dimension to this one layer card ~ absolutely gorgeous!
