In my container of Christmas bags and boxes and bows, I have a stash of tissue paper. Picture me wrapping my Hootycreeks for gifts. I had wrapped two containers in this beautiful green paper with gold stars when suddenly, I had one of those m.o.m.e.n.t.s.
One of those wait-a-cotton-pickin-what-the-heckity-heck moments. I stopped wrapping and singing along with Nat King Cole and focused. Hey! That's not tissue paper! That's mulberry paper!
Raise your hand if you know what mulberry paper is. Then this post is for you!
And it's for all my crafty friends on the talented design team over at CASology where the cue word this week is "STAR." How could I not stop what I was doing and use it to play along with a clean and simple card?!! I can't even remember the last time I had fun with fuzzy pullable mulberry paper.
So, Melissa and Ardyth and Jen and Rosemary and Tracey, this is for you! Happiest, Merriest, Joyiest Wishes to you!!
And the same to all my rowdy, rascally, crafty-sister friends at Pixie's Crafty Workshop! It may be damp on the playground, but it doesn't dampen our spirits, does it girls? Pass the egg nog!

When I first started making cards, it seemed like everybody I knew gave me mulberry paper. I still have a folder full of the pretty stuff! I'll bet some of Mrs. A's is in there. We'll have to have a mulberry party. Maybe I can bring it to Pixie's playground so we can all make a card as pretty as this. Oh, my stars, have a wonderful Christmas!
ReplyDeleteToo funny! I do know what Mulberry paper is but I have to say that I never used it. I was just not that adventurist. Your card with the gold stars is so beautiful and I love that your sentiment is stamped in gold too, just perfect for this challenge!

Just getting our canoe ready to paddle down the miles to Portsmouth tomorrow to spend Christmas with the family. Ah,Mulberry paper-i too started out crafting with Mulberry paper... torn hearts,tear bears-you name it i made it out of Mulberry paper ! tee hee-never stamped on it though-great idea Darnell.

I can remember using a wet paintbrush to tear my mulberry paper and it came in such gorgeous colours too. Maybe you have started a revival!!!

ReplyDeleteHope you had a fun Christmas! I'm thinking that you have seriously started a mulberry paper renewal movement with this awesome card! I do have some rather plain 'm' paper laying around, but have never seen one with stars! Love the soft fuzzy edges :)
