I went to my online CAS class first thing this morning and, again, loved the video training presented by the very amazing Kristina Werner and Jennifer McQuire. I CASEd Kristina's card, sorta, and I'm entering it in this week's "Kraft and Kreme" challenge at Less Is More. (OBTW, fab prize from Pink Petticoat!)
It's a very exciting time over at LIM where the SECOND Birthday celebration is going on! Less Is More is one of the first, if not the first, challenges I started entering on a regular basis a little over a year ago. I had so many pesky questions about "white space," and (for Pete's sake) "Lucky Dip," and many more! Chrissie and Mandi were so kind, often emailing me directly, to gently guide me in the ways of making my favorite style of "less is more" cardage. Ladies, words can never adequately express my appreciation for that!
As regulars know, Mandi has moved on to expend most of her creative energy on her new wedding business, which appears genius to me. Mandi has just today made an announcement on LIM about leaving Less Is More for good. You will be missed, Mandi, but your decision is so understandable as you concentrate on your new adventure. Your pictures on the LIM post today are beautiful! I wish you every success!
Replacing Mandi has been the incredibly talented Jen of The Tiny Blue Butterfly! Chrissie and Jen's inspiration cards each week are knockouts!
Here is my card:
I know, having said all that, that I didn't follow the white-space rule, Chrissie, but I loved Kristina's card today and wanted to CASE it for you anyway, using your theme colors, and using the music background stamp because it is in tune with your logo. May LIM have many, many more birthdays!!
~~~
I'm being a rebel all over the place today. Because I wanted to use the colors from LIM, I didn't prezactly follow Kristine's video with my homework, although I did use the design. I will come back with a tone-on-tone background another time. The video and card by Jennifer are super fun, too, so I will be CASEing that one, too, at some point.
~~~The Playhouse welcomes two new friends! Yippie!
First, please meet Stacy H-W from Scrap with Stacy. She is a seasoned crafter and mother of five. Mm-hmm, that's right. You rock, Stacy!
Also joining us is the uber talented Judy from Livin' the Dream. Judy's banner name comes from traveling with her husband for five years in an RV. What exciting journaling that would make!
Please check out our new friends and introduce your own selves. Thank you, ladies, and welcome to the party!!
~~~
I have to share this with you. You may know that you can check your stats in Blogger and see who your audience is. You might be amused to know that my blog is looked at by a lot of Russian, um, adult type sites. Isn't that a hoot?! What in the world? You didn't know granny's cards were so hot, did ya?! We don't even want to talk about the twisted English I am putting out into the world! I must be causing chaos in the Translate Software brain. Tutu phunny!!
Enjoy your day! No, seriously, enjoy your
day. LITS!
Thank you so much for stopping by the Playhouse. Special thanks to you if you take the time to leave a comment or join as a follower!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card - I'm wracking my brain on this colour challenge - really not my cup of tea, but that's why it's a challenge! I'm loving watching your homework and gleaning what I can from it! And I'm giggling thinking of what the Russians think of your tutu phunny English! I haven't checked mine lately, but it was similar. Makes you wonder just what people are up to out there!
ReplyDeleteOh Darnell, I just wonder how many Russians searching for "adult sites" have turned into card crafters because of you?! You never know... LOL
ReplyDeleteI adore your card! As a musician, it makes me happy to see that beautiful music so gorgeously displayed. This is lovely!
Hi Darnell, must not forget to tell you, I love Jennifer McGuire - she is brilliant! Your Kraft card is fabulous - it does have lots of white space (in the pattern!). I a going to have to have a think about the Russians........it's quite funny though. Hugs, Annie xx
ReplyDeleteMust have a look at my stats too then!!! As you say tutu phunny!
ReplyDeletekathyk
Fab card Darnell.
ReplyDeleteI just love reading your posts, they always make me smile - those Russians are obviously looking for a different type of "playhouse" lol
Cute card Darnell. I love reading your blog. You are such a hoot.
hugs Tamara
Great card, Darnell. I love the musical background. Russians, huh? Who woulda thunk it! Perhaps you should be drinking a shot of vodka from now on... lol. xx
ReplyDeleteYour white space might be lacking, but the card is awesome! I haven't checked my stats...not sure I know how. I'm sure all the Russian visitors are interested in your "playhouse" and all your phunny words! Back to the card...you still have a few days..make another one! BTW, I'm taking the same class, but I'm not nearly as good as you are about completing my homework!
ReplyDeleteahahahahha Maybe we are converting the Russians to a new hobby, one by one!
ReplyDeleteYour card is brilliant! I just love the look of the white embossing on the kraft!!!
Beautiful card Darnell. Love the music script background. I think you must just have a huge fan base in Russia that love pronouncing your tutu phunny words!! x
ReplyDeleteOoh, this is beautiful! I adore the color palette and the mix of elements on here.
ReplyDeleteHehehe! I hadn't thought about what your Darnellese could do to the translators! What fun. They're probably using your blog in their English classes! Love the card with all the music in white on the Kraft! Is that a B that I see?
ReplyDeleteFabulous birthday card for LIM. Love the music background. Hope you are doing well, Cheers, Shirleyx
ReplyDeleteThis is so sweet, Darnell! I really love that music score background :)
ReplyDeleteI love this card, Darnell, the white really pops off the kraft. I should have done the Clean and Simple class, didn't have my act together. Maybe I'll still sign up, you've inspired me. I love Julie Ebersole, she is so funny. Took a class with Jennifer Maguire, she is great, so talented.
ReplyDeleteHow interesting about the traffic to your blog! My friend from photo class posted a pic of a pair of her shoes (she has great shoes) on Flickr, and she was really suprised at how many people picked that photo as a favorite- she looked into it a little more and found out most of the commenters had a foot fetish! Funny! Barb
Pretty card! I love that sentiment diecut in white on kraft like that!
