I've missed you. I've been whooshing away working, and cleaning house, and planting all those flowers you saw the other day, and hosting a card party!
After the party this afternoon, I made a really quick card as a tribute to my friends and to play in a couple of challenges. Challenges which are almost over, hence the "last-minute Lucy."
Over at 10 Minute Craft Dash for challenge #12, Paulina has given us bright and cheery colors:
On my monitor the banner looks like lime, but the DT cards look like aqua, so I went with aqua mist, and early espresso, and melon mambo. Because of the heat embossing, I took 9 minutes and 13 seconds to put my card together.
To help me with the design layout, I used the current (also, almost ended) challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. This is challenge #75 and the outstanding Tui gave us an uber CAS sketch to play with:
I eLongated the sketch and made this card:
I'm also going to enter my card at Simon Says Stamp where the challenge is "Anything Goes!"

Our fun get-together was ... well, here's a photo to show you.

Gladys, Harriet, Cindy, Donna, Kim, Nancy
Sorry for the poor quality ~ lots of light coming in the windows. We are long-time stamping friends and brand-new stamping friends. It was fun to get better acquainted and/or meet each for the first time. Thank you, ladies, for a great stampganza!!
I made a little baggie of tags for each of the ladies as a take-home thank you.
Someone at my grocery store made the little cake pop with a shamrock and a green ribbon. I just attached my little tag bag.

Oh, I wanted to ask you. Is anyone else getting this annoying message every time they go into their "design" feature on their Blogger blogs?
It has been popping up for over a week now. I just hit "close," and everything operates fine, so I don't know why they're sorry. They seem to be able to complete my request, except for falsely popping up to tell me they can't. I would go and report it to Blogger Support, would I could find such a thing. The Help Group appears to be less a Help Group than other bloggers whining about issues. So do you know what the deal is? And what website I can visit to successfully report this annoying popup? Thank you so much!
~~~
Hope your weekend is going well. Take a moment to reflect and enjoy! No, seriously, enjoy! LITS*!
Darnell, I had a fabulous time at your beautiful home and meeting new friends. I am looking forward to putting to use some of the new techniques that I learned today. Your card is just so beautiful too and that little bee is so sweet. Thank you again for a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteYour party looks like it was fun! If I ever win the lottery, there will be a plane full of us partying/crafting at least for a whole weekend somewhere nice...and near craft stores. Your card for the craft dash is gorgeous. Love the embossing (you brave girl), and how the whole card is anchored with your pink flag. Great sentiment stamp too. Have a wonderful Sunday. Bev
ReplyDeleteOh how I would love to be one of the women sitting at your beautiful table however I will have to settle for being beside your card in of couple of the challenges! LOL! I just finished an 8 hour day at a Breat Cancer Awareness scrap booking day. Meeting new people, learning new techniques, and generally just having a great time. Went to post my card and there you were, thought I would drop you a note because I love, love , love your card. That embossed wheat/grass is fabulous and I can't believe you can do it so quickly!! That is a technique I will have to learn. Looks like you had a great week, I know nothing about your blog problem,...will try to figure out the new stuff you sent me while on vacation this week. I do so love your blog, have a great rest of the weekend.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this, Darnell - what a wonderful color combination!
ReplyDeleteFlowers and friends; it all looks lovely. We don't even think about planting here for another 2-3 months!
ReplyDeleteI love your simple elegant paired with the bright colour scheme.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Darnell, I love the colours.
ReplyDeleteFabulous photo, it's clear to see that everyone had a lovely time.
Sorry can't help with the error message, I hope you get it sorted.
Sue xx
Great card love the embossing. Your party looks like fun, wish I could have been there although I had a good day as well went to a local crafting show and got my new sewing machine!! Not had that problem with blogger although something similar popped up the other day and went away when I ignored it.
ReplyDeleteFabby card Darnell and what a fun group of friends there! Thought you were quiet - and now I know why :))
ReplyDeleteRe. the error code - are you running Windows Explorer as your browser? It seems to be a known issue, which will be fixed - but who knows when :( Meanwhile you could try Google Chrome as your browser.
I run on Linux here, along with Firefox as my browser - never one to do things the standard way :))
Hugs, Di xx
Just found this link Darnell - kinda written proof :(
Really like your Last Minute Lucy card, Darnell! The color combo is fantastic and the black embossing really pops. Looks like you had a great evening, too! Sorry I haven't been by to visit in a while. Been kind of busy... Hugs, Sandy
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely day that must've been ... friends and crafting ... and in person too! Your little thank you's are splendid and are such a sweet idea. Splendid card ... the bee is so cute and if only I could emboss like that in under 10 minutes! Anita :)
ReplyDeleteYour party looked like so much fun, and I wish I could have joined you! Your card is so pretty with those great colors and the little bee accent is adorable!
ReplyDeleteWhenever I get an error like that, I copy/paste the code error and copy it into a google search. You'll find more information that way about others who may also encounter it, and also what to do to resolve it. Good luck!
Gorgeous card!!
ReplyDeleteI've missed you too!!!! I was worried...since housework can be harmful to health 'n all. That's why I never do mine ;)
ReplyDeleteLove this card Darnell. You obviously work well under pressure! lol It's a great sketch but your take made it even better! The sentiment is so pretty and the bee is adorable.
Yes, blogger is being a brat to me too, but only when I use internet explorer. I do believe it is google's way of forcing it's blogger population to use google chrome instead! I also have a LOT of trouble when trying to leave comments on Blogger blogs when using IE...it just freezes, tells me 'nice try lady' and bombs. How rude! I don't like to be forced to into things, but chrome seems to magically fix that little error message. The buggers.
O some girls had fun....gorgeous to spend time with friends.
ReplyDeleteAnd stunning card you show us in this post.
Hugs Tamara
Hi Darnell, I wish I had been one of the ladies at your table......love your card, great embossing, it looks so effective. Very pretty little bags for your lovely friends too.
ReplyDeleteI did get a similar message but changed to Google Chrome and all is well again although I do sometimes get error messages when I leave comments and then they are lost in oblivion - quite a nuisance. Hugs, Annie xx
