Happy March Papertrey Ink (PTI) Blog HoP!
For this monthly all-day challenge using PTI products, our inspiration challenge is sequins.
green sequin tins ::: Nichole Heady star shaker ::: sequined tote ::: sparkle confetti bag ::: turquoise sequin stars :::
Nichole: "Sequins are popping up everywhere on paper crafting projects and now's your chance to try out this new trend! With the variety of colors and shapes available, the sky is the limit with the creative possibilities! Use them to accent the centers of flowers, add them as borders, fill shakers, or create random splashes of sparkle."
I made you this Easter basket:
For my card, still playing with the last of my initial die cut chevron snippets strips, I nestled them into a faux basket weave pattern. In the spot between the points, I glued a tiny paper dot punched from a snippet of Bazzill gray paper.
The last in my chevron series, it seems fitting that I add this to the fabtastical Moxie Fab World: The Chevron Challenge. Cath has so many awesome challenges on the site right now, some of them closing on 04/01/13, so hurry over and join in!

If you're a regular reader, you'll know that the use of the word "snippets" means I'm also joining in with Di and the other crafty crafters at Pixie's Crafty Snippets Playground. This is week 65 and I do hope you can join in!!
To fill my basket for Easter, I used the PTI "Scrambled Eggs" die and stamp set to make my eggs, which are cut from a shiney scrap of lightly metallic paper, then stamped with color. They are shimmier and prettier in real life. I finished them off with sequins I've had in a little container for several years. They were so happy to be used on a card!

And I am so happy to see that we have new friends! Please take a few minutes to go and introduce yourselves to Cyndie Reis of Reis's Pieces of Paper and Maarit N. Persson of Violet's Corner! It's always delightful to meet new friends and have new inspiration available to us on the tips of our fingers and eyes. Thank you so much, ladies, and welcome!!

Enjoy your day! No, seriously, enjoy!

Wow, this is super creative! What an amazing way to weave the chevron strips!
Darnell, this is such an adorable card! I love how you used the sequins, but I really love your chevron basket - so clever! Beautifully done. ;-)
Oh my! I thought I was on Kelly's blog Notable Nest when I saw the detail on this card!Whatever possessed you to put those little dots on that basket was GENIUS, as was he overlapping of the chevrons. WOW!
How clever of you Darnell, to use the chevrons as a faux basket weave! I have to agree with Ardyth, the way you used those dots is genius. Love your fabulous card! Hugs, Annie xx

Just awesome. Looks like a lotta work on the chevrons...but what a glorious look. Must check out the egg die too. Hope the busy-ness is easing up so we can get back to visitin' again. I will check in on your new visitors too...I always enjoy the blogs you recommend! Nice to get plenty of inspiration. TFS & Hugs

Oh my word Darnell - how long did this beauty take you to make then? I love the basket effect and then when I enlarged for a closer peek almost keeled over at the precision and all that work! BEAUTIFUL my friend! Lovin' those eggs too - grin, I have some sequins from an age ago too. Can send you them - they might like a little trip :)) Joke!
Hugs, Di xx
Wow, I love how you've created your basket, and I'm in awe of your little grey cells. I mean dots. All in the right place. That blue egg looks like it's been batik dyed. Cool!
WOW Darnell, such intricate work!! Your card is amazing Cathy x
Now that's the kind of Easter basket I can relate to! Non-caloric and non-fattening, no sugar added! It's still sweet as can be with all that delicious detail work! NJ!
Darnell, how on earth did you position those little dots so perfectly??? And where did you get the idea to place the chevrons like this? You are a GENIUS. I love it! :-)
BRILLIANT snippets make. xxx
Hey, I know some gal called Darnell who was WAY too much time on her hands!! Seriously, how long did this take you??!! Love the schimmery eggs. And sequins, don't get me started. My cousin did ballroom dancing as a girl, I remember the hours and hours and hours and.... sewing sequins on to her dresses. It's probably why I hate sewing so much!
Hugs
Brenda
What a great way to use those chevrons! Love this basket with the tiny dots and sequined Easter eggs!
Wow! Not sure how you created this but it's amazing! Beautiful way to use sequins . I have to take another peek at how you made this one....wow!
What a perfectly scrumptious Easter basket. I guess it pays to play around with left over cuts. ;)
What a cute card. I have shamefully made no Easter cards this year!! It still feels like the middle of winter!!
xx
Hey Darnell! Thanks for linking this up to the Chevron Challenge in the Moxie Fab World! I'm so glad you joined in on all the fun! :)
