I have been dying to make a card inspired by Jennifer McGuire on Day 2 of the online "His & Hers" class. I finally got the "Build a Bloom" set from SU! so I could do my CASE attempt of her beautiful card.
My card is being entered in this week's CASology challenge, where the cue card word is the very broad "bloom." All of us can make a CAS card for this fun one, so c'mon!!
My card is also being entered in the current Addicted to CAS (ATCAS) challenge where the inspiration code word is "rainbow."
I mean, same thing, you can do this one, too! Shazambam!
And, perfectly timed, over at Simon Says Stamp, the new challenge is up: "Flower Power." Not only is there the usual wonderful prize, but new product is being released and it's gonna wreck havoc with your bank account!! You're gonna wanna check it OUT!
Here is my card:
I like the way the petals look a bit distressed because they were stamped onto vellum paper. Then the vellum was attached to a PTI rustic white card base with gold brads. The ruby center is a beautiful glazed button, which I wish you could see better in the photo. I like to imagine that it came from the sleeve of a sheer silk blouse worn by . . . oh, sorry, where was I?
I was also hoping to enter the One Layer Wednesday card hosted by the lovely Cheryl, but I missed the deadline. Plus my card is not 3x3, it's 4x4. Plus it is not one layer. Okay, never mind. What is the matter with me?!
~~~
I'd better sign off for today. I'm want to get some gardening in while the temps are pleasant and there is a nice breeze to blow the dust and cobwebs and sweat off my face. Eww. On second thought, I will go back to hopping along with the WOYWWers and maybe make another card.
~~~
I hope you enjoy your day! No, seriously, enjoy. LITS*!
Thank you so much for stopping by the Playhouse. Special thanks to you if you take the time to leave a comment or join as a follower!

ReplyDeleteYou have a totally astounding card here. I'll have to check out this class...read something about it on another blog. Loved your bright colors on the velum flowers...how it sparkles...just as a real rainbow does. Your ruby button...terrific finish. How sparkly was the whole flower set on the stark white card. Hope your gardening went well. I had intentions, (weeding & spraying roundup), took my nap instead! TFS

ReplyDeleteFantabbyulous (to use one of your styled words) Darnell!! Love this card loads, great design and such lovely colours.
ReplyDeleteRight, in response about those wretched rounded bookmark corners - I know I must seem barking mad but (ha, ha - you know what's coming) they can go a bit dog eared otherwise!!
Don't fret about the carpel tunnel business, I had an op. for that about 15 years ago now. Awake (but peeking the other way) and eventually the surgeon asked me to stop making wisecracks (purely out of nerves!) 'cos he was getting shaky hands from us laughing. It's been Yankydoodledandy ever since :)
Hugs, Di xx
Today must be THE DAY for this type stamping - since I also I one of my blog today! Mine can't compare to this one though. SO lovely and love the bright colors - it really does look like a rainbow!!!

Oh my, Darnell, that really is a BLOOM ... gorgeous vellum rainbow petals, loads of lovely dimension and the sweetest ruby in the middle ... yum! Anita :)
ReplyDeleteAlways crack me up, never fail. Aside from all the obvious humorous trains of thought you've shared, I was laughing at your "shazambaRN" expression. Only it wasn't really your expression. It was my sleepy head at 5 am not reading the last "m"! Can I steal your "What's the matter with me?"
ReplyDeleteLOVE your vellum creation! Your gold brads remind me of an acrylic wall hanging I have with metal bolts holding it together in the corners. Super!
Just beautiful ~ love the rainbow of color!
