I'm screeching up to the door of the amazing sketch challenge, CAS(E) This Sketch #27, where the current sketch was created by the awesome Chrissy Larson.
Over at Less Is More #119, our terrifically talented hostesses, Chrissie and Jen, want us to make a one-layer card (OLC) using colored card stock. Here in their words:
"This week it's everyone's favourite. One Layer Cards and this week we would like you to use a
Coloured Card Blank
Yes that's right, none of your boring, white, ivory, black or kraft card blanks we want to see you add some colour."~~~
Still making Happy Congradulation cards, I made this QACAS number:
Wouldn't this be a fun card for triplets! Can you imagine?! You'd be so fantastically happy you got them through high school ~ don't even think about college! Since most of us don't know triplets, think of this as a graduation card with triple the enthusiasm and encouragement! (The mortarboards are dimensional stickers, which I think are okay for a OLC.)
~~~
I'm enthused to introduce you to another new friend to the Playhouse! Please go visit Karen of Chequertree Crafts. Karen is just getting her blog off the ground this year and she is a fellow "shed sister" crafting in her own little crafting shed. I met her through WOYWW. I know she would love to meet you! Thank you for joining us, Karen, and welcome!
We had a delightful time with the prodigal, his beautiful wife, and the twins yesterday for Mother's Day! Yummy food and yummy chocolates for dessert. I thought you might enjoy seeing the cards I received:
The little crafty grand twins each made me a card; both scanned together here:
Inside were taped treasures and each one had included little crossword puzzles and word searches that they had created themselves. Schwoon!
From Rachel and Dan I received this flowery and sentimental card:
~~~
Ah, they know me well!
~~~
Sorry I'm late today ~ I hope you enjoy the rest of your day! No, seriously, enjoy. LITS*!
Thank you so much for stopping by the Playhouse. Special thanks to you if you take the time to leave a comment or join as a follower!
Darnell - your posts are fantastic, not to mention excellent for ab workouts with all the laughing! Love your cards (triplets - I taught two sets over my teaching career - and one of the sets had twin siblings!) and the cards you received are delightful (nice wine glass)! My niece and nephew made cards for my sister and me - apparently Mother's Day is also Aunties' Day. Cool!
Have a great evening; I'm playing card-catch up...
Darnell thanks for starting Monday off with laughs again. Love your grad cad, LOVE the card the twinks made for you too. You are a lucky lady.
LOVE the grad card Darnell, I think those little twinks will be kind of $$$ for college too ~ yikes!! Their cards for you are too cute, what sweet little fellas they are!!
Love the cards the twinks gave you! They'll be budding artists in now time.
Um.....that glass of wine.....looks pretty tasty from here - size and all!
Love your graduate card! The little hats are precious and just the right sentiments!
Lynn
This is a marvelous grad card--and your one from yesterday, too! You received some sweet cards, too, especially the one with the giant wine glass.
I'm so glad you had a great mother's day... I thought your cards were ace. The last one was just my kinda thing!
Love the grad card... it would have been perfect for my son who in fact has three degrees! He has a BSc in Biochemistry, a PhD in Cell Biology and also graduated from Cambridge with a medical degree, (I'm not sure of all the letters for that one). He is now a qualified general practitioner! He obviously gets his brains from me!
Thanks so much Darnell.
Chrissie
"Less is More"
What a clever idea for a triplet's card... we have triplets working at our hospital, they are all nurses and trained together! But it was the size of the glass of wine that totally made me smile today...
Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS(E) this Sketch this week!
Another fabby card Darnell-i have to say though-the thought of putting Triplets through University has just spiked my BP !
I am loving the Twinks crafty creations-bless them ;) and the Mother's Day card,WOW !I don't think that lady on the front will remember too much about her Mother's Day hic !!
Love,Nessa xxx
Brilliant card Darnell, another fabulous design.
Glad you had a good Mother's Day and received some beautiful cards.
Sue xx
Love the "trio" sentiment, Darnell and your post! I have so missed coming by your blog and getting my daily dose of Darnell witticisms for the day. Now that things are calm, for the time being, I will be popping on by more often. Your cards from the twinks are just adorable!
I do know triplets and they would all want their own card. lol! But maybe this would be good for their exhausted parents! Love the simplicity of the design and the 3 different sentiments! Thanks so much for playing along with us at CAS(E) This Sketch This week!
I've got three graduations this spring, and am wondering if I CASEd your card if they would just pass it on to the next person? lol It's a great card and has given me some ideas for the ones I need to make. Love the twinks cards! Lily made me a "ruby" ring...will post eventually. And I love that perfectly sized wine glass--do they come in Margarita size? Bev
Looks like there's a crafty side to the whole family Darnell! Love your CAS graduation card and especially loved your Mothers Day card...perhaps I should have had one like that...
Oh Darnell, I am still laughing at the Mother's Day card you got with the glass of wine (shouldn't it be vodka?). The Twinks cards are delightful and they obviously take after Bama. Your mortar board card is brilliant, triplets or not..... Hugs, Annie xx
Such fun cards from the family, Darnell! Your son and DIL have a fantastic sense of humor ;). Your creation is the tippy top of CAS perfection!
Your posts always make me smile and your cards do also. I love your grad card! Super cool and super fun for triplets or otherwise. ;) Thanks for joining us at CAS(E) this Sketch.
Er...am I the only person who actually owns a glass like that? Fits a whole bottle of wine in one go. But I promise I have never used it. Yet.
Great grad card, and I love your twinks' cards, and of course the prodigal's card!
As usual Dippy I had this huge grin on my face reading the start of your post (and I think your card is brilliant.....and even more so for the unknown triplets!). Then I read further and my heart skipped a beat with the twinks cards and puzzles - awhhhh :o) but then came a humongous guffaw when I saw the card sent by your esteemed prodigal - who must have inherited your SOH - and family.....they may have been glad to celebrate with you but I'm sure a cry went up of "who drank all the wine Bamma".........hehe.
Hugs.
OMG, your Mother's day card is hilarious! My kinda wine glass (and I don't even drink!) LOL
Your CAS grad card is fabulous! I love your take on the sketch!
Great post Darnell, I'm behind with my commenting I'm afraid but I love your grad cards and your son obviously has a similar SOH to my youngest who bought me a wine glass for Xmas that holds a full bottle!!
Glad you had a fab Mother's Day
Val x
So sweet to share the card the twinks made.
Love the cards and a HUGE thank You for yet another amazing and funny post!
Hi Darnell, Great LIM Grad card, it's perfect actually. Oh my gosh,
I can't imagine having triplets in college at once! But I guess it happens.
Your grandsons made the sweetest cards, I'm sure you had a wonderful day. Cheers, Shirleyx ps... where would you store such a HUGE wine glass? :)
The twinks really need to enter these cards in one of the challenges! They definitely inherited their creativity from their dear sweet Bama!
Fabulous grad card! There is a family in town who have their triplets graduating this year....might just have to CASE this one!
Your card from Rachel and Dan is absolutely a hoot! I need one of those glasses for my co-worker (she loves her wine!)
Fabulous graduation card Darnell, but I am really in love with the card that pictures you on the front with the huge glass of wine, she really does look like you, right? Sounds like you had a wonderful Mother's Day too.
Really great graduation card, Darnell! Love love it.
Thanks for playing along with us @ CAS(E) this Sketch challenge:)
Three is good! I love that subtle little star you added for good measure too! :) I'm always at a loss when it comes to creating graduation cards, but it looks like you're rather good at it!!
Love the cards you received from your loved ones! :) Much too funny!!! LOL!
Sounds like you had a wonderful Mother's Day! I'm sure your triple enthusiastic card will make someone super happy!
Super fun card and I think a graduation deserves triple enthusiasm! Super cards from your twinks. x
Brilliant card Darnell.. Triplets you say... I'm thinking how much that would cost to put them through university over here!! Love your grandma cards, you have a couple of budding artists there but the BIG glass of wine made me laugh :0)
Good to hear you had a wonderful day :0)
I love this...and I also love how your mind works. This WOULD be perfect for graduating triplets. Awesome design!
Fab gradulation card, Darnell and such a brilliant post! So happy you had a wonderful Mother's Day ... with these sweet cards from the twinks and a glass of wine like this one (you did get the glass of wine too didn't you??) it was pretty much perfect! Anita :)
I'm with Ardyth. My triplet grandchildren would each want their own card, hopefully with money included. lol Just like the ones I sent for their birthday on May 15. 15 on the 15th, where did the time go?
Can you imagine sending triplets to college? Wowsa! You'd only be able to afford one card! Love the triple good wishes! Wonderful idea!
Simples but works a treat. Hugs Mrs A.
A great graduation card ~ love all of the Mother's Day cards you received ~ thanks for sharing!
