Hello on this tremendous Thursday!
I don't do a lot of aerobic exercises, I'm not gonna lie. But, holy steaming biscuits and beach balls, do I ever get my blood pumping by entering challenges at the eleventeenth hour! Whoa!
So, no time for chitty-chatty today. I only have time to say my very warmest Happy First Anniversary wishes to the uberastically talented Lesley Croghan and the ladies at Dynamic Duos! In celebration, we were asked to pick a past color challenge of our choice.
I picked this one:
and I made this anniversary card:
It's hard to heat emboss silver onto dark card stock without splatter, so I thought it might be a good idea to smack the handle of my silver Smooches brush to make it look like the splatters were there on porpoise. And how'd that work out for me?
S'okay, I don't have time to start over and I really did not want to miss this chance to tell the ladies how much I have enjoyed this fun and challenging color challenge this year and I wish Lesley and the gang many, many more anniverseries!!
~~~
Must dash to get this in. Enjoy your day! No, seriously, enjoy. LITS*!
Thank you so much for stopping by the Playhouse. Special thanks to you if you take the time to leave a comment or join as a follower!
ReplyDeleteWhat a CUTE stamp Darnell! your card is splendid and the splatters look like the were meant to be!!
ReplyDeleteThe splatters are the perfect camo! I'm going to use that trick on everything :) What a super cute image (to make up for the 'steaming biscuits' image from the beginning, lol)
ReplyDeleteSuper sweet anniversary card Darnell. Loe that duo! Thank you so much for sharing with us this week at Dynamic Duos!
Well, like everyone else, I love those splatters, they do look like you meant to put them there. That blue background really makes the embossing pop too - love it! Hugs, Annie x
ReplyDeleteooh this is so sweet and I love the splatters! xx
ReplyDeleteHahaha! Darnell, even when your blood is pumping with the last minute entry, you find the time to be funny! I love this card. I love the idea of using disguising splatters. Your splatters almost worked perfectly! And they look like stars twinkling - it's a magical kiss. There is only one dot out of place (and most wouldn't notice it). ;-)
ReplyDeletewhat an awesome card.. great embossing..
ReplyDeleteFabby colour duo and love your sweet anniversary mices. x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors together and love your precious card! I like all the splatters on here and will have to remember this little "trick"! CUTE image and a great card!
ReplyDeleteLynn
You always seem to have just the perfect stamp to meet any challenge posted. This is too perfect. Delightful and darling.
ReplyDeleteThose kissing bunnies are oblivious to the silver splatters, but I like the way they look on your card! NJ!
ReplyDeleteSplotches are in and if you didn't tell, we would have thought you were right on trend. Love the bunnies. They remind me of my Mom and Dad.
ReplyDeleteYou have the most unusual stamps! I like how you added the smooches blobs. I rarely ever emboss on dark colors because I always make a mess.
ReplyDeleteGreat card. That silver looks fantastic against the blue, and the silver smooch is a great trick.
ReplyDeleteSparkling card to celebrate a sweet anniversary. Liked your image that you chose, and using the smooch drops to add texture to the places not intended for embossing, great idea. I'll file that one away! I love all these neat tips. Loved the card, and thanks for your kind comment. Hope your family is having a grand time at DC. There's so much to see, great place to take youngsters. I'm sure your two littles will be very mannerly....you're correct...it is a parents' thing. I'm still blaming Dr. Spock for all this lack of discipline! TFS Hugs
ReplyDeleteSo sweet Darnell and yes I can just see you now in your tights and leotards, leg warmers and head band and rocking out. Such a fun picture, right?
ReplyDeleteSweet card, and what a wonderful anniversary wish to the DD team. I, alas, in my crazed frenzy of getting ready to travel to see my husband's family this weekend, fell short in making a card. Drat! Yours is fantastic - and those splatters = perfect!
Love the colors! As for the splashes, they look great!
ReplyDeleteI never emboss because I always smudge it or get "spots" everywhere...what a cleaver idea you've had here...(yes, I like to say words in a fun way too...from time to time *wink*). Your card is wonderful Darnell and I appreciate your support so much!!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
ReplyDeleteFabulous, Darnell! I always get some "splatter" when I try to emboss, too. You made it look effortless and the end result is awesome as always. Thanks for supporting our Dynamic Duos challenge! I always look forward to your fun creations! :)
ReplyDeleteSuper cute anniversary card Dippy. Love your splatters!
ReplyDeleteHugs.
ReplyDeleteLast minute Splash and Dash was a huge success! Love your ability to 'save' a project! Splatter looks beautiful on the blue!
ReplyDeleteAren't splatters wonderful for hiding boo boos! I hadn't tried to splatter with the metallics so I'm really glad to see how good it looks! Fabulous card, Darnell!
ReplyDeleteThe accidentally-on-purpose splattering works a treat here, Darnell ... such a cute image in that luscious silver on blue! Anita:)
ReplyDeleteCute card! Great card for the colors and for the special dynamic duo anniversary...love that challenge!
ReplyDeleteAh Miss D, lucky for you I've been too busy to blog hop this week, apart from a bit during WOYWW, otherwise I would have already seen this uber cute card, not knowing it was winging it's way Eastward to me anyhow! Your smoochy spots are perfect, I thought they were embossed bits, and what better thing to put on an anniversary card than smooches!!
ReplyDeleteMany hugs
Brenda and Andrew
