MUSE #17 - For The New Weedle Baby

And we're back around to Friday ~ whoosh!
 
Today is the last day to play in the MUSE Challenge.  Our Muse this week is the incredible card artist Therese Calvird of lostinpaper.  Here is Therese's cheek-pinching-adorable baby card for us to CASE:
 

I love paper piecing and I have some cute new stamps to literally CASE this card (which I will be doing!), but I remembered that I also had some darling designer 12x12 patterned paper that would work.  The ladies who taught the online class a while back on using patterned paper would be so proud that I am still putting their lessons to use.  This paper has the kind of pattern that would be great for scrapping, but I wasn't sure how to use it on a card.  Well, badongdong, why not cut it up? 

So I did, and I made this:


I'm pretty sure the paper is from DCWV.  The whole page contains every letter of the alphabet.  I cut it into individual letter boxes, picked three, and attached them to a yellow panel.  I then attached that to a tall patterned card base, which has the bonus of having a darling pattern on the reverse.  Then I added the eyeballs to feature them and a jazzy and joyful butterfly sensor.
 
Therese's card is a keeper though, isn't it?  Paper piecing stuffed animals on baby cards is a sure-fire "awwww" inducer!  You have to be careful giving such a card to the mommy-to-be at her baby shower, however, for fear you might induce something else!

So I put in some new flowers to bring spring color to my rock garden.  Turns out I planted something that works like snail nip!

 
I can just picture the family of snails, tucked in for the evening, strung out and rubbing their full bellies as they feverishly chattered on about what an extraordinary day it had turned out to be ~ like Thanksgiving in the garden!  I'm so happy I could make their day, the little bleeps.

    Aww, your card is gorgeous, just right for a baby!

    I had to laugh at your description of the snails! They are little bleeps, aren't they? Whenever I work with my Jedi Master of Flower Arranging at Church we always find at least one snail in the greenery!!

    Still laughing about the snails!!!! We have a ton of hummingbird and when you have to feed them several times a day, they're little bleeps too!

    The pattern paper ladies would be so pleased to see this adorable card! It's splendid!! Bright and FUN! Love it.

    What a CUTE baby card Darnell, love the squiggly eyes! Too bad about your plants, but the pesky snail are well fed. Sorry about making your mouth water with my dinner plans LOL! Tonight is grilled cheese, chips and fresh fruit ~ drastic change there huh LOL!! We're headed out to hear a guest speaker at our church and have to rush rush when the hubs gets home!

    I love how you made the paper work for you! And the googly eyes are perfect! Wish there was something that would eat the bleeping snails and slugs. We have gone outside in the evening and seen an army of slugs on the walls of the house. Now that's creepy! To say nothing of what they can do to the tender, little plants!

    You learned your lessons well! This card is a prime example of a wonderful use for dsp! I love the bright colors, and especially those googlie eyes - 'specially the long eyelashes on the bunny :)

    Wow - sweet, sweet score with the patterned paper...but oh those eyes are the absolute best! Love the bright colors.

    Yep, the snails/slugs had a feast all right. Reminds me of my hostas a few years back UNTIL someone told me about beer! Sink a small shallow dish into the dirt(I used empty candle pod thingies) and fill with cheap beer. The little buggers love beer so they climb in, get drunk and drown. Kind of gross though when you empty the containers!

    Both of your baby card are just adorable Darnell! I always love some cute baby card and I just love how you put that paper to good use! That is something I need to learn how to do! Sorry your flowers were so delicious, the bunnies usually get some of mine. lol And oh boy do the deer love my DH's field corn and the ground hogs love the soybeans. And of course the coons love our sweet corn, yep our crops feed the wild life just like your flowers do. lol Gets frustrating doesn't it?!!

    Way to use the patterned paper, Darnell! This is an A-DOR-A-BLE baby card! Good reminder for me to review my patterned paper notes, too (especially given the zany B-day card I posted. Remedial help needed!). Your snail description (rubbing their tummies...snicker!!) creates quite the 'visual'. Little bleeps indeed; blimpy bleeps! So glad to have a 'comment' chance while we're 'on the road' - off to see my husband's dad in the rest home, then some shopping...scrapbook store here. Woo hooooo!!

    Baby love galore. Hey, that bottom elephant on your paper pieced card looks as if it is wearing false eyelashes. Makes me want some to flutter around. LOL Just adorable work here.
