Hello! I know it's only Thursday, but we'll whoosh today, since I won't be on tomorrow. Mr. Week went by SO fast this time!
In keeping with my recent online card class on making His & Hers cards, I made two cards.
I saw this week's MUSE Card Club card, designed by the sensational Laurie Willison and knew I wanted to play in order to use up some fun virginal Washi tape from Freckled Fawn that I've had a few months. It's called "Decorative Tape Numbers." Here's Laurie's card for us to CASE:
I flipped Laurie's card and made mine horizontal. I made a blackboard out of strips of Washi tape applied in an off-set pattern onto gray metallic paper. I used a wood grain embossing folder and note-paper punch on the mat. I used another strip of Washi tape to make my ruler, onto which I stamped "thank you."
Lastly, I fussy-cut my apple (an ancient stamp from "A Stamp in the Hand"), applied Glossy Accents, and finished it off with diamond bling be fitting a lady. The glossiness doesn't show up in the long shot, so here is a close-up.

My second card, the "His" version, works for the current CAS-ual Fridays challenge where we are lucky to have a two-week tic-tac-toe chart! (How can you pass this up?)
Happy 2nd birthday, Michele, and congratulations on 100 challenges! Thank you for all you do to make this hobby so fun!!
From the chart I used the middle vertical column for my guy card: Kraft paper, dry embossed wood grain, and Glossy Accents on the apple for the bling. And the metallic gray paper is a manly bling, too.
During the class the brillius teachers gave us their own checklists for embellies and ideas, one column for the ladies, one column for the gents, and encouraged us to make up our own lists. Did any of you write down "worms" in your guy column? I didn't have a teensy-weensy worm handy, so I snipped one.
There you go, thank you card inspiration for both teacher genders!

ReplyDeleteTwo fabulous Muse cards. What a great idea to do a he and she card. And, I learned something from reading your explanation about the google circles--I have the same problem, and always feel bad when I cannot return the comment. And, that GG Bridge die is from Memory Box--I left my heart there, so had to have the die. Send me your addy, and I'll cut you a few--I didn't save the return address from your beautiful birthday card, silly me.
ReplyDeleteDarnell - your comments made my day this morning :) thanks! I have to give you credit for the little strip of blue alpha washi on my Muse card - when I saw your tape I remembered mine LOL Love both of these cards - definitely capture the blackboard & classroom feel!
