I forgot that I started this card a few days ago. It's for the current Runway Inspired Challenge (RIC).
When I first saw this dress, I thought, "Seriously, Zac?"
How would you go to the bathroom? Then, again, isn't that true for most gowns? The good thing about this gown is that if you pulled it up wrong-way backwards when you were done peeing, who would know? The material does looks like it would be scrumplicious, though, doesn't it? I want a bed covering made from it so I could just lay down and roll up in it.
Anyway, that's not why you called. I have a set of paper lantern stamps and I was hoping that one of them was a spiral twirly shape. Sometimes you see wind chimes like that, too, you know what I mean? But none of them were shaped like that.
In my search, however, I ran across this funny and ancient little stamp that has been lingering in my miscellaneous NBUS for like seven years since I bought it at a garage sale from someone with the initials E. H. I think it is interesting that it has survived several purges, like it was just waiting for this challenge. Wouldn't it be a small world if E.H. were reading this right now?!
Here's my card:
I wanted to use a Penny Black sediment because PB is playing along with the RIC challenge. I was really happy that the Friendship portion of this beautiful stamp was perfectly looped in all the right places!

Well I'm not E.H. but I'm still reading! Darnell this NBUS stamp was the perfect choice. The movement on your card from those squirmy fishtails is so FUN!!
It's B.J.K.B. here; sorry, no E.H.... And if I were E.H., I'd be sorry for getting rid of this stamp. You've made an incredible card with the little fishy kite stamp. You've also nailed the challenge. I'm calling winner right here and now. This is simply amazing. D., you've done it again!! Lalalove this!!! Bev
Scumplicious may just have become new favourite word! I just layered stamping like this and I really like the colour combo you've gone with. Have a great day!
I like that! Gorgeous stamp with those lovely flowing lines, and the colours - well they remind me of lush ripe fruit lol! The fabric would look fab as a luxury bed throw. Have fun at your class Karen x
WOW...this stamp is absolutely BANG ON for this challenge! Your colors and the font of the setiments are unbelievably perfect...just like they were made to accompany this dress!
I'm thinkin' that a trip to the ladies room for this fashionista would be a challenge. Only sensible solution would be a catheter (ouch)...
Great take on that inspiration photo! That's one funky looking little fish, but oh, so, CUTE!!! Fabulous card.......
As for having to pee while wearing that gown, I think you'd just have to "hold it"!

Oh I always get a chuckle when I visit here. Your comment on the gown was priceless, and only you would think to say it!! I've seen several takes on this inspiration gown, and gotta say, I love yours bestest. Your mind works in wonderous ways to get that fishy to work up the card inspired by this gown (I would have been at a total loss!). Your card is marvelous, such movement & I'm so happy to see you got great use of the NBUS (and even more impressed that you remembered you had it! And could _find_ it!!) Loved the post, as usual. TFS & giving me a grin. Hugs
Your thoughts about using the restroom while wearing this gown are hilarious! I guess I just can't appreciate high fashion like some do, but the pattern on the fabric is beautiful! I love those beautifully stamped fish on your card! So fun!
Loved your reaction to the dress...still chuckling. This stamp is perfect for the inspiration and it is totally awesome that the loops were in the perfect spots. (P.S. Thanks for the congratulatory note. You're so kind.)
I absolutely love that dress!!!!! It's so over the top fantastic !!! But... I love your card even more!!! :)) :))
Your colors match up w/ the dress perfectly & that's pretty darn cool!!!
Glad that you or anybody else I know won't have to worry about it in the bathroom !!! Lol

I'm definitely not E.H. I can't part with my stamps! This is a fabulous interpretation of the photo, Darnell. I love the movement, and the loopy sediment is perfect for you ;)
Serendipity! Your funny little accident! Love the stamp you used to make this card! It's perfect the way you made it wave a bit.
Have fun with your group.
Love how you've captured the movement of this dress by repeating that stamp with the wavy tail!
Then there is time flies too!!!
This is seriously a very under estimated stamp and certainly needs lots more outings especially with a water droplets stamp. Hugs Mrs a.
Love the loopiness!
Darnell, this is just stunning. Your card is as beautiful as that dress in your inspiration photo. Fabulous take on the challenge too, I just love your card, incredible stamp.
These are my favourite colours and I love your fab card! hugs xx
You have made wonders out of that stamp, it is beautiful!!!!
And thanks for your kind words and the link to my blog Darnell, such a sweet surprise!!!! THANK YOU! : )
Best X Best card inspired by this gown (and yes, it is a perplexing piece of wardrobe, indeed)!! Your swirly-tailed fish stamp, the colours, the layout and the sediment = perfect eye-catching, winning combination! As always, a smile-making, day-brightening post!!

Perfect use of this stamp, Darnell! I love the movement from this fish lantern stamp and you certainly have stamped it so beautifully! So glad that you join the fun with us at Runway Inspired challenge! (And I like how you think ahead/out loud about going to the bathroom with this dress...it's an issue, huh? Thanks for pointing that out. I think I will not purchase this gown after all) (wink)!
You make me laugh. Love the movement you created with the lanterns and the perfect color palate.
this is so cool!!
This NBUS is perfect for this challenge! You couldn't have done better if you carved a stamp yourself! Love the font of the sentiment! So flourishy and fun!
This card is so pretty! I love the fish image and the various colors you used. Cute!
