Today is the 25th day of the 10th month of the 2,013th year and that means it is another blog hop challenge at Nichole's Papertrey Ink (PTI) glorious website, as well as Rudolph Day at Stamping For Pleasure. And we can't forget we've also whooshed around to another Friday, drawing ever more perilously close to Christmas!!
My friend Sandra hosts Rudolph Day where the rule is that you have to make something festive ~ and for this month's PTI blog hop challenge we are to make festive tags. Here is our photag inspiration:
As fun would have it, there is also a "tags and bags" challenge going on at CAS-ual Fridays, so I'm linking up there, as well.
Frank Lee, I prefer making cards to making tags, so this was a challenge for me that turned out to be happily successful once I decided that I wanted to make my tags in the shape of a Ball jar. I used a die from Paper Smooches for my jar, but you can also find fine jar dies at other companies, including PTI.

With one exception of pine needles (from SU!), the little jar tags are filled with PTI images, most of which are NBUS, and all of the tags are made from either PTI white or kraft paper. The other ingredients I'll list at the end. Almost all of the images were enhanced with either Wink of Stella pens or my white gel pen. Unfortunately, even taking the pictures in the sunlight did not show off the winking and sparking that you can see IRL.
I made seven tags. Actually I made ten of them, but three didn't quite get finished in time.
Enjoy~

Enjoy your day! No, seriously, enjoy. LITS*
As always, thank you for coming by to visit the Playhouse and special thanks to you if you take the time to join as a follower or leave a comment. I'm very blessed to hear from so many of you and I treasure each and every one!

Fabulous tags Darnell. Hugs from Scotland. Rita xxxxx
ReplyDeleteLove all of these Darnell, you created such wonderfully themed tags, each one unique and beautifully made with such attention to detail! Very special tags for some very lucky recipients!
ReplyDeleteLove them all! What holiday cuteness in each one! I need a Bsll jar stamp and die cut! (I am partial to Ball jars as my grandfather worked at the Ball jar factory, my grandmother worked at Ball Stores, I was born at Ball Memorial Hospital, and I graduated from Ball State University! The Ball brothers were instrumental in the development of Muncie, Indiana!) Sorry about the history lesson. I just get so excited when I see projects using jars!! :)
ReplyDeleteYou may not even see this comment you have so many. Anyway your tags are so cute and clever. Love them. Sorry, I have not been making comments lately, but hope to get back in the groove this week.
ReplyDeleteSTANDING and applauding you my dear, those photos are fantastic, showing every tag splendidly,I can see the shine with my beady eyes, seven brilliant little jars, fabulous creating Miss Darnell, all your linking makes every day special, how kool is that, big hugs, thanks for sharing, making me smile BIG...
ReplyDeleteApplauding, cheering, and happy dancing (husband's away, house is mine, can do as I please) at how delightful, creative, darling and sweet your jar-tags are! I do love, love and love the 'smaller' canvasses to play with, but I don't make tags all that often. Yours, however, have set the wheels in motion; my mom is volunteering at a craft sale in December, so perhaps a small fleet of tags, as well as cards (need to get off the Halloween card diet soon) are in order. Fun post!!
ReplyDeletec
what an awesome idea to use the bell jars! such a great tag shape replacement. love them all!

Your snowflake tag is sooo pretty! And I love how that gingerbread man is trying to bust out of the jar. Or maybe he's getting ready to roll down a hill?
ReplyDeleteLove the jar theme, Darnell, and clever of you to turn the challenge into something that suited your style too. They are all fabulous. Elizabeth xx
ReplyDeleteThese are AMAZING!!! I love your tag designs! I think the silver heart one is my favorite, but they are all fantastic! Thanks so much for playing along with us over at CAS-ual Fridays!
ReplyDeleteClever you to make your tag into jars! (I'm tag challenged myself, so admired this a whole lot!) Loved each that you did, and your idea to fill with NBUS(s) was inspired. These are so doggoned cute! Just learned about the Stella Wink pens...they looked fab here. Each little jar was so different...wish I had just a bit of your crafty imagination. Great entry. TFS & Hugs
