Pine Cone Ribbon CAS ~ NBUS #79

Happy Hello!!

I made a super QACAS card to show you.  You may have seen me use some wide ribbons in pretty patterns on my cards before.  I usually can't resist them when they are in the huge sale bin at my local craft store.  Today I used a NBUS ribbon I bought after Christmas last year that I've been wanting to play with.  It is coppery bronze (if you can be such a thing), shot through with gold.
So you can imagine how becited I was to see that the current CASology challenge is ribbon!
Not only that, but the current sketch by the creative Jennifer T. at Freshly Made Sketches is just what I had in mind for my wide ribbon layout!
My card is definitely CAS (clean and simple), which make it fit in perfectly for the current challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More!
GRAB OUR BADGE!
And, if you are going to use ribbon on your card, it makes sense to check out the ribbon-on-your-card challenges and, walla, the Ribbon Carousel Challenge is "Anything Goes!"  I see they have announced that the Ribbon Carousel Store is closing, but the challenges will continue.  If you have always wanted one of these awesome carousels, you'd better hustle over there while supplies last!
Till We Sell Out!
The little sediment on my card was made using some snippets and, of course, I only used a snippet of that giant roll of ribbon, so I'll be sharing my card with the rascals at Pixie's Snippets Playground.

And, finally, I found a new-to-me challenge that's been around for many years called The Daring Cardmakers where the theme is "Going for Gold."
Daring Cardmakers
To shorten my lengthy posts, I leave it up to you to use the links for the rules and sponsor and prize details.  Also, you will find inspiring Design Team creations!  I hope I've shown you some challenges you will want to play in, too!

~~~
Without further a dew, here is my card:
The sediment is traced with a gold sparkle pen, but naturally that doesn't show up at all.
You could really make this card without the sediment on the front and instead put a festive holiday stamp on the inside, in which case it would take you less than ten minutes to make.  I think it is dazzling enough with just the ribbon and the added dimension of the embossing folder.  Plus, it's nice and flat for mailing, so I'll be making several of these.
I'm so inkled to introduce you to our newest friend Karen of Karen Creates Cards.  Karen is coming up on the first anniversary of her fantastic blog and she is on the Design Team for Merry Monday.  Please check out her beautiful cards and let her know you were there.  Welcome, Karen, and thank you for joining our little Playhouse group!
~~~

Finally, I thought you might like to see a couple of items I fell in love with while browsing through a catalog I got in the mail brilliantly called Catalog Classics.  (In my next life, I want to write t-shirt graphics!)

I CAN STILL FIT INTO THE EARRINGS I WORE IN HIGH SCHOOL SHIRT

IF A MAN SAYS HE WILL FIT IT TSHIRT
There are a ton of others, but those two made me laugh until I cried.  Especially that last one.  I had no idea that was the deal and here I've been reminding mine every six minutes!

~~~
Enjoy your day!  No, seriously, enjoy.  LITS!*
As always, thank you for coming by to visit the Playhouse and special thanks to you if you take the time to leave a comment and/or join as a follower!  Please let me know you came by, so I can be sure and return the flavor!
    Loved the photos from the catalog too - the black T-shirt would fit almost any man, I'd love to get one of those for my father! And the female version made me giggle:)
  8. Oh my goodness! I NEED to get that second shirt for my husband! It was made for him I'm sure... I still have things from when we first got married (13 years ago!) that need fixing. I keep threatening to throw them out, but he then tells me not to, as it's a waste!?!
    The trials and tribulations of being married to a Yorkshireman, lol.
