And Happy Hump Day!
A quick post today. Stop laughing. It really is this time!
I have about six challenges that I want to play in this week, lots of one layers, waters being colored, and Christmas stashes being grown and not enough days in the week, so I was trying to decide which way to go when I saw the Make It Monday challenge and video arrive in my inbox.
This week it's all about confetti. Squee! Hammy loves confetti! I have tons and tons of it from using dies and punches, as I imagine so do you, and about a year ago I started putting mine on the floor of Hammy's cage. I venture to say he has the stylinest cage in all of Hamsterdam!
Settle down. Let's get back to Make It Monday. I haven't either had the capability and/or the time to play for quite a while, but I do always watch the excellent videos on Nicole's site. I really wanted to play last week, but that's water over the damn or under the bridge, depending on the vocabulism of your region. When I saw this week's video, which was delightfully made by Danielle, showing us how to use the leftover die confetti on our cards, everything else got swept off my desk and I made this:
My confetti is made from the popout letters from the happy flag part of the die, including the poput pieces from inside the Ayes and Peas.
I also used this jar die from Paper Smooches called Crystal Clear 1:

For the colors, I chose the current challenge at The Paper Players. Here are the fun colors chosen by the talented Anne Marie:
The gold vellum I used for my jar is from a Grafix vellum pack, which perfectly matches the SU crushed curry paper. To make the jar I put a snippet of vellum on a wide piece of double-side tape before die-cutting. When I peeled off the backing, I stuck some of the confetti to the tape "inside" the jar before adhering it to my PTI white card base. The other pieces were glued invididually.
Speaking of snippets, my confetti was all made from snippets of paper in the challenge colors, so I'm also taking my card to show my friends at Pixie's Snippets Playground.

While the idea for this card appeared on the Hammy retina, I do feel like I've seen it done before. Maybe I even did it before. Right this minute I can't put my finger on where I might have seen it, so if you have made this card design before, or know someone who has, please let me know so I can give proper credit. Thank you. At my age, the seed could have been planted somewhere up there by any one of you and today it dropped neatly into the slot where I keep my own imagination.

As always, thank you for coming by to visit the Playhouse and special thanks to you if you take the time to leave a comment and/or join as a follower! Please let me know you came by, so I can be sure and return the flavor!

Wow! So cute! I love your happy, happy card.
Super fun confetti card!!
Now I am singing 'Happy', the song the American team took to the Olympics - I Love It!! Love your card too, it reminds me of those magnetic words people have on their fridges to help the children learn to spell....... Hugs, Annie xxx
The most awesome use of letter confetti- love how it's "flying" out of the jar- this is great!

Hi Darnell, love your jar full of happiness! Xx
First, I've not seen this card made before, so I'm proclaiming YOU as originator of the whole shebang; consider yourself as having exclusive 'cas-ing' rights *grin*. Second: awesome x amazing! Brilliant use of 'confetti' (my bits most often serve as snacks for my recycle bin's never-ending appetite) and the happy jar is simply...well, happy-making! LOVE this!! Hugs~c
Love your idea and the card, Darnell! Brilliant and cheerful! Just what I needed while watching the blizzard outside...
Such a fun card, Darnell! And, what a great way to use up all those little tidbits! Great job on Danielle's technique video...a real 'Happy' card, for sure :-)
What fun to see all that happy spilling out of the jar! I know what you mean about the seeds getting planted in our imaginations! Sometimes it's hard to know where my creativity leaves off and uses someone elses!
Darnell this is just stunning! I love how you used your confetti it looks gorgeous on your card :)

This is such a creative use for those dies, and one I never could have imagined in my mind! Great take on the challenge with this super fun jar of happy!!
I LOVE this!! And I don't remember seeing it before myself...and even if it has been "out there", this is your very own version of it! And what a fabulous version it is! btw, did you check the confetti from the bottom of Hammy's cage to make sure it was...um...clean before you used it?!! ;)
Hi!! Your happy card is adorable and love the texture and lilac color of the other one. Thanks for sharing your talent.
I love the tumbling letters on your card. I do believe I've seen something like this before but with all the pinning and CASEing who ever knows where it came from. You made it different by using happy letters and a yellow jar.
Hammy is a good helper. I'm sure this is the result of some of his input. That's why you prolly think you saw it somewhere else. But it's really clever whoever thought it up, and you carried out your own unique version of it. I LOVES it! Chuck Hammie under the chin a couple times for me. I added a page for new blog acroyisms...you air on it! Hugs & TFS - off to enjoy some more here.
This is so fabulous. And, you have one darn smart hamster. Perhaps he would like to meet my pet rat for lunch one day?
Well, how creative of you to use the Happy die like that! WOW! I love it!
WOW, this is super fun, Darnell!!! Loving the colours you've chosen and the whole design is just great!!
Greetings from Africa!! And have a lovely day!!
Over the top creative, Darnell! Love it! I'll keep in touch about the puppy--almost here!
I think this is amazing and a brilliant idea! I've never seen it anywhere before, so I will think of it as 'your lightbulb moment' and a great one at that!
Oh what a clever, fabulous card.
luv

What a lovely idea! Wonderful card!
Awesome design Darnell! I thought it was quite ingenious to use the one liners and cute them up!
Wow! You have been on another amazing creative roll while I have been away visiting and during my current 'computerless state' (new one should be ready today...good thing for work computers that don't boot me out for visiting 'off limit' sites!)
Your DJKASE of Shannon's card had me laughing out loud! You seriously cut off the rabbit's ears? Good for you - resulted in an awesome hamster! Love the textured paper on your springtime card...yes, I would love to reach into my monitor to feel the velvet texture!
Hopefully, I will get back on track with my comments now that life resumes its regular day to day routine!
Oh my gosh Darnell, this card is so super cool! Love all that happiness and confetti spilling into the jar. I'm so glad that you shared it with us at The Paper Players!
I'm H.A.P.P.Y, I'm H.A.P.P.Y, I know I am, I'm sure I am I'm H.A.P.P.Y (to be sung in a very loud and jolly voice!) Inspired, creative, and such great fun, Darnell ... is it any coincidence that Hammy's name is so similar to Happy?? Anita :)
Oh my goodness! What a fun card! I love the idea behind it and it's execution!
Great use of vellum and die cut letters! Original and fun clean design!
