Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking Magazine Swan Song Blog Hop :(

Welcome to a sad day in Blogland.

Today I am joining in with hundreds of other paper crafters to give a huge and loving sendoff to all the dedicated people who brought us Paper Craft & Scrapbooking Magazine, which is sadly closing its doors. It's the end of an era. An era that brought the crafting world untold inspiration and pleasure. Thank you to everyone involved!

My tribute card:
I watercolored the colors behind the negative flourish die cut with Gelatos. The sediment is by SU.

I was never brave enough to submit a card for publication, so I have no stories to tell of the thrill of victory nor the agony of defeat, but I sure loved seeing the cards that were published! I still pinch myself that thanks to blogging I'm now friends with so many card artists who have graced the pages of this publication!

I'm not sure that you dear hearts at PC&S will ever really know the impact you had on the creative lives of those of us who devoured the magazine cover-to-cover issue-after-issue. But from all your readers there was always gratitude: seldom spoken, always felt!

Now, today, I'm thinking of each of you as you embark on this new chapter in your lives. While change is daunting and scary, it can also be exciting and it can bring you more happiness than you ever imagined was possible. I wish that for you, and more!
Enjoy all the wonderful testimonials and inspirational projects! Many participants have photos and videos to share with you!

I'm keeping this short as it's a HUGE hop. I hope you enjoyed your stop here. Please help yourself to a beverage and a chocolate kiss and then you must get those bunny feet in gear and continue hopping!!

~~~
Enjoy your day! No, seriously, enjoy.  LITS!*
As always, thank you for coming by to visit the Playhouse and special thanks to you if you take the time to leave a comment and/or join as a follower! Please let me know you came by, so I can be sure and return the flavor!
    You really ought to submit your cards to magazines, Darnell, they are always stunning! There's nothing like opening a magazine and seeing a photo of a card you've made printed inside. xx
  11. Lovely card and a sweet post, Miss D. It's a darn shame that PC&S are closing their doors; so many of us enjoyed every single issue. Sure wish it weren't true! Your card is a beautiful send-off for the staff there. Such a great design and am loving that font on your sentiment. Bev
  16. what a lovely design with the rainbow behind the flourish Darnell! It is sad about PaperCrafts - I was fortunate enough to have been published in it several times and it WAS such a thrill!! I'm afraid all the wonderful blogs out there where we can get all the inspiration we need at any time was the demise of the magazine...
  17. Wow! I can't believe you've never submitted a card for publication (I haven't either, but I'm also not in 'your class'!). So many of your cards are so stunning, they would blaze in a magazine. This one is no exception. It's beautiful, and a marvelous tribute to an ending, and hopefully a new beginning for the staff at this magazine. We've lost so many of the publications that used to be in the stores. As much as I love looking at computer pics, it's just not the same thing as picking up a 'real magazine' and thumbing through to find a specific card. TFS & Big Hugs.
  22. A wonderful tribute card - it's always sad when something comes to an end. But as they say - whoever 'they' are as one door closes another opens so I am sure those involved with the magazine will pop up and inspire us somewhere else.
  27. I was one of those who'd receive the magazine, sit down with a beverage and read it cover to cover. All this to the detriment of household chores. I'm not good with change, so this closing has really made me SAD! Your tribute card is truly lovely...I'm sure it will be appreciated.
  32. Great tribute card. I was also one of those whowould get the magazine and save it to read at a special time like a reward for getting my chores done, etc. I'd read and enjoy every page. So sad to see it end. And I agree with what some of the others have said...You should submit your cards. I definitely think they're worth publication.
Perhaps I will also encourage you to submit an application to write a recurring column in the magazine. Now that would be amazing!   61. Oh, that card has much fanciness to it. I never would have thought to use a flourish stamp for a cut out, look how clever you are! It is indeed sad about the Papercraft magazine but they were dead to me once the went digital. It's all about the paper!
