I'm honored to be here on Day Four guesting for Stamp Spotlight Week at STAMPlorations along with Shery and her outstanding DesignTeam!
Here is a look at all the magnificent stamps in the new release:
Today, our spotlight is on HEAVEN SENT:
Once again, a very sweet set of baby stamps and sediments!
After yesterday's wild foray into nonCASicity, the hamster and I went very CAS for our inspiration card today:
This card is pretty self-exploratory. I love the old-fashioned pram and so I used an old-fashioned ribbon treatment some of you might remember from the last century. Using the oval was intended to be provocative of old-fashioned portraits that hung in old-fashioned parlors.
OTOH, I am hoping that keeping it minimal with lots of white space still gives it a fresh feeling. To that end, I will use one of the precious sediments on the inside.
~~~
And that's it, Bob's your Aunt, and Shery is generously offering PRIZES for this Release Week! For a chance to win one of the prizes, make sure you leave a comment here and on the blog posts of the fabulous Design Team members listed below. Each has made you stunning inspiration using "HEAVEN SENT."
Love you CAS cards with that old pram Darnell. It does speak for itself ;-)
ReplyDeleteSee you
Veerle x
Love this simple treatment of the pram image Darnell. The oval frame is reminiscent of old photo frames. :)
ReplyDeleteI was so happy to see you guest designing for STAMPlorations this week, Darnell! Congrats! You've really been knocking the cards out of the park! They have all been fabulous! I especially like today's, the baby pram one, as it is CASilicious! I love the way you framed the pram with the oval and the ribbon and curly-cue is an awesome finishing touch. It's a beautiful card. Looking forward to what you come up with tomorrow! Hugs! :-)
ReplyDeleteI just love the sweetness of your card. I like how you have the stitched oval and the ribbon and eyelets on the bottom.
ReplyDeleteSweet card. The pram is so cute and I like how it is framed with the oval. Loving that ribbon treatment too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, vintage-feeling card! Love the pretty ribbon and clip - very inventive!
ReplyDeleteYou have actually scared me Darnell when I realized that I CAN remember the last century!! Anyway what a fab bit of CAS and I love the oval xx
ReplyDeleteThis is so classy, lady. I'm thrilled to be parking next to you at SSS.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Maria, above, it is a very classy card. You have coloured the pram beautifully and I love the die cut oval with the lovely 'stitch' detail. I keep seeing these and really must invest in one (or two)... Hugs, Annie xx
ReplyDeleteAnd "fresh" is the word I'd use, too. It is evocative of a former time but that's because the buggy is. You don't need anything else but the image, the frame and the ribbon. It's just right.
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely card and when I saw the oval I thought it was perfect. I did think of old framed photos. I love the touch of yellow also. They should bring back prams-the kids can stretch out and sleep. they can be propped up with pillows and play and the mom will not get Arnold Schwarzenegger Arm by having to lift the seat everywhere. Besides the kids don't look all that comfy in them
ReplyDeleteI am in love with this card AND not just because that baby buggy is yellow =] I love all the ways you made it look old fashioned and vintage!! It really is a most excellent card and I happen to love that ribbon treatment! Such a clever idea - I just might have to give that a whirl soon!! Thanks for always inspiring and making me chuckle!! You really are amazing!!
ReplyDeleteLovely image and a perfect card.
ReplyDeleteHope you've had a good day. Sue
Another simply stunning card. Everything about if is just lovely.
ReplyDeleteElaine
Oh this is a very classy card! Sending it off to Prince William and Kate?
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely, Darnell! Jo x
ReplyDeleteSweet friend, all of your cards are always so lovely... and this is no exception! The pram is beautiful and I love your color choice. Babies are a burst of sunshine, after all! :o) Love the window style and ribbon treatment... just gorgeous as ever. Wishing you a day as lovely as you are, Darnell! :o)
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
Karen
Perfect vintage look to this CAS card, Darnell! They're lucky to have you helping showcase the new release!
ReplyDeleteFabulous simplicity, I love it!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt is so cute! The card is still cas even with a vintage mai
ReplyDeleteMain object!
DeleteThis is just precious and so clean and simple! I love the use of the clip with the ribbon, and that stitched oval is to die for!! Well done!
ReplyDeleteCASilicious in every way, Darnell! My sister and I (long ago) had a baby pram similar to this on my grandparents' farm to cart around our dolls. We didn't, however. Instead, we carted around puppies, kittens and, even piglets...why go with dolls when you have 'real' babies to play with. Anyway, that's my 'vintage memory...thanks for sparking it!
ReplyDeleteHugs~c
So elegant - love the ribbon at the bottom and the stitched frame. Out of synch today - lets see what tomorrow brings...BTW - I am just at 200 followers - working on getting to the next 100...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and sweet card. Now, these prams no ... but they had your climate. The card is beautifully composed. Everything in it alludes to what was ...
ReplyDeleteRegards,
Bozena
Darnell, you've perfected the combination of vintage and CAS! Yes, it evokes the nostalgic feel of vintage portraits, but at the same time, it's so clean and crisp. A masterpiece. (Do you remember twin prams - a hood at either end?)
ReplyDeleteIf that's an old-fashioned ribbon treatment, then it deserves a big comeback. I haven't seen it before, but it's super cute. And the whole design definitely looks old fashioned in a good way!
