Day Two - Stamplorations Spotlight Week!

Greetings!

Well, now, Monday wasn't so hard was it? I love to see you greeting Tuesday with a smile!

I am thrilled to be joining the talented Design Team at Stamplorations for Day Two of Stamp Spotlight Week!

Here is a look at all the magnificent stamps in the new release:

The new release contains several stamps celebrating pregnancy and parenthood. Today, our spotlight is on The Bee's Knees "BABY BUMP."
BabyBump-preview
I just love the sweet little onesie and cardigan/jacket so I used them and paired them with both the "Congratulations" and the "so happy for you" sediments from the new set.
A friend recently gave me the sweet e/f from Darice, which I thought was perfect to use with the adorable baby outfits. I had some OAD pp with little baby-related pictures, so I stamped the baby clothes over the pictures and then fussy-cut them.

The upper left-hand corner was bugging the hamster, so we sat there stumped for a bit, staring at it. I walked the card across the room like I like to do because sometimes having a long view will spark an idea.

Sure enough, we thought, why not just cut off the offending bit in a swoop to mimic the line of the clothes line, which is a line I've never used in my whole adult life because we lived in apartments for many years so I got in the habit of using the dryer and then when we moved here, there really wasn't a place to put up a clothes line. But I hung a lot of clothes on the line in my childhood and a part of me misses that old-timey chore and the smell of those sun-dried clothes. Especially baby clothes.

  14. Adorable card! Great job with the design.

I still hang out my clothes...if fact, I might hang some out today.
I actually met one of my special long time friends that way, she was renting a place right next to us, and we both started talking over the fence when we were hanging out laundry.

Like you, I remember pegging out clothes when I was young, I loved it in the winter because my Dad's long johns would be frozen and I would 'walk' them into the house - great fun - thanks for the memory! Big hugs, Annie xx

I also love to hang clothes out to dry in the sun and breeze. Being out in the country, I have plenty of room to hang out. Love the smell of sun dried clothes! lol Hugs, Brenda

  24. Absolutely adorable on every level, Darnell! Baby stuff...so cute! I miss having a clothes line (another 'something' not encouraged in our small mountain town, but given the size of the ravens, perhaps a good thing) *grin*

  40. Oh whew! When said you were featuring a pregnancy card...well, I thought..... Anyways, a very cute card. Especially like the lopped off corner. Oh yes, hanging out the wash and bringing in frozen sheets and rehanging over the wood burner with mops at the ready....fresh smell? Smelled like sweat. :) :)

  41. What an adorable card! I love the little baby outfits and the clothes line! Great ideas here!

  42. Another super GD creation! I adore the 'clothes line swoop' that you and Hammie created! It seems to draw the eye to the sa-weet ef (which I've never seen up until now!). LOVE the softness of the font - so a-pro-pro for welcoming a wee one!

BTW...I'm totally an old fashioned Ukrainian girl...I hang clothes out all the time. Don't have a clothes line, but the frame of the Gazebo works perfectly! Nothing more comforting than snuggling into fresh air dried bedding! Especially in winter!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Love what you did with the shape of the card, following the line of the clothes line. Great card.
Its pouring down, bucketing down here. My washing that wasnt brought in before the storm started two days ago is just hanging there so heavy with water its a wonder it hasnt pulled down the clothes line all together. My towels are actually touching the ground they are so heavy. Nothing like having to wash everything twice, just need a break in the storms.

  44. Your little onesies are adorable with that paper!! I also love how you cut the card to mimic the line of the clothes line. Looks FABULOUS!!! Awesome design!!
