Well, hello there! I hope you are doing well!
Did you miss me? I sure missed you, but I needed the break and I feel fresh as a daisy!
Do you know where that phrase comes from? It's from the fact that daisies close up their petals at night to "sleep," so in the morning they are "fresh" from their night's rest. In fact, the word daisy comes from old English daeges eage or "day's eye," because it only "opened its eye by day."
Of course, all of this is leading to the fact that I made a coupla daisy cards to share.
The color of this daisy is a bit unusual, although I'll bet daisies come in every color imaginable now. I made my daisy in pink, mauve, and purple hues because it is intended for my bloggie friend Monika Reeck of Creative With Monika and purple is her favorite color!
Monika's birthday was April 10th, but I missed it, hence the sediment. In celebration of her birthday, Monika is holding a linky party on her blog and asking us to CASE one of her cards:
Isn't she sweet? I chose the card on the bottom left. My other left. The daisy is a NBUS stamp from Hero Arts called "Engraved Daisy," which I colored onto glossy paper using my Marvy markers. The sediment is from the PTI set "Glory Be."
I applied some ruby glitter Sparkles to the center to give it a bit of pizazazaroo!
Thank you for the opportunity to celebrate your month-long birthday with you, Monika, which also allows me to add you to my DJKASE gallery! Happy Belated Birthday and best wishes for many, many more!
~~~
For my second card, I did not mask the image. I simply inked the stamp and added Sparkles and splatters.
The sediment here is from Penny Black called "moment of joy."
Unseen Comments - Delivery Status Notification (Failure)
It recently came to my attention that some of you are receiving failure notice emails after you leave me a comment. Nevertheless, if you look at the post you just commented on, you see that your comment did get published. So what's up with that?
Well, what you may not know is that although your comment got published on my blog, it did not get delivered to my Gmail inbox like it is supposed to do, which means I didn't see it. Say what?
Well, what you may not know is that although your comment got published on my blog, it did not get delivered to my Gmail inbox like it is supposed to do, which means I didn't see it. Say what?
The way I set up my incoming comments is for them to be published and appear in my Gmail inbox, just like nonblog mail. It's an easier way for me to keep track of which comments I have repaid. Simples. Until now.
I did some research and discovered that Yahoo and AOL have again tightened their server mail restrictions as it relates to sending mail to NON-Yahoo and AOL servers. How rude. There is a fix, but to do so then causes havoc with other servers (like Gmail), so, basically, the fix is of no use and the only thing that might help is for you Yahoo and AOL members to complain to them.
Anywiz, I wanted to let you know what I found out in the event you are having it happen to you with either outbound or inbound comments. Also, if I have suddenly stopped returning your lovely visits, now you know the reason why. And now that I know what's happening, I'm trying to double-check the comment section of my blog to catch those I am missing via my inbox.
Unseen Replies to Comments
As long as we're talking about comments, I've always been curious ...
Over time, I have run across some of your blogs where you reply to your commenteers by typing a reply beneath their comment on your own blog. I don't mean an answer to a question - I think we all have to resort to answering questions that way if we don't have the questioner's email. I am talking about just a polite reply / thank you response to a comment kind of thing.
Is it just me that doesn't return to blogs to check and see if a reply has been left for me after I've left a comment? Do all of you go back to check? Because, frankly, I don't go back to that post, unless it's to offer congratulations to you for a win.
I realize I could check that box that appears at the end of the comment section on some blogs that would allow your reply to be delivered to me, but it would also deliver to me every other comment you get from other people to your posts. That would be both confusing and overwhelming to me and the hamster, so we never check that box.
I wanted to mention this, just FYI, in case you don't know that some of your readers may never see what you've gone to the trouble of writing. Or maybe I'm the only one?, she queries, eyebrows raised.
Thank you for letting me hyperventitillate over these things!
I am delighted to be back to introducing new friends to you! I apologize for the delay and I appreciate the patience of all my new friends! Here are five more lovely ladies for you to meet:
Barbara of Barb's Creative Corner. Barb has been blogging since 2011. She has been married for 50 years and is the mother of three and grandmother of three. Barbara is on several design teams, even my favorite snarky kind! You will find a wide range of card inspirations at Barb's place from whimsical to elegant and everything in between!
Sue of Tanglemouse Cards. Sue is from Gloucestershire UK and she only started blogging in February of this year! That's just a couple of months ago and she is already on design teams and winning awards! When you see her fabulous cards and her wicked coloring skills, you'll see why! Please do make a special effort to welcome Sue to our community in Blogland!
Jessica Lynn Mould of Jessica Lynn Originals. Jessica is a stamp designer you may have heard about. She's been in the business for ten years and was once featured on the Oprah show! I originally met her last year and then we were reacquainted through the recent Light it Up for Autism hop.
Jean of Pages in Time. Jean has been blogging since 2008! Jean still loves scrapping the lives of her children, even though they are grown, and over the years she has been well-recognized for her creativity. In addition to scrapping, Jean has begun to get wonderfully painty with canvases and journal pages!
Heather of Crafty SAHM I Am. Heather has been blogging since 2010. I met her through my NBUS Challenge and have loved leafing through the pages of her blog. Heather enjoys challenges and making cards for Operation Write Home. Her cards are all wonderful, but her masculine cards are particularly superb!
Thank you for joining, ladies, and welcome to the Playhouse!
Really really wonderful your cards with the daisy.
ReplyDeleteBest regards, Synnöve
You certainly were missed! Great comeback after a well earnt break. Gorgeous, gorgeous daisies. I love them in purple and you have a keen eye to spot them in the photo. Thanks for playing along at ATSM and welcome back xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful daisy cards Darnell pleased to hear you feel refreshed after your break
ReplyDeleteAnne
Love your both daisy cards... they are amazing and proud !!!
ReplyDeleteCU hellerlittle
Welcome back - and what stunning cards you've stormed back in. Definitely back with a bang and not a whisper!
ReplyDeleteOn the replying to comments issue, if a comment asks a question, I go over to that person's blog and reply on their latest post, but if it's a question where the answer might interest other people too, like "what make is that die?" I also reply to their comment on my own blog. Double whammy.
Both cards are great, I admire how easy it can be beauty in the CAS!
ReplyDeleteLoving the cards, especially as they are purple:)
ReplyDeleteI usually do a bulk reply to comments on my blog. Occasionally I click reply to a specific comment. I don't usually say much, but do like to acknowledge bloggers have taken the time to leave me a comment.
If I ask a question on someone elses blog, I usually make a note of it and go back the next day or two to see if they have answered.
Hope you have a good day. Sue
I am loving your daisy cards, the stamp is fabulous and your cards showcase it beautifully! I never go back and check the 'reply' bit either when I have left comments nor do I click to receive replies for the same reason as you, my inbox would be swamped! Thank you for the daisy history - I should have known that but didn't! I am glad you had a good break and are refreshed now. Take care! xxx
ReplyDeleteWow! Gorgeous cards.. i love the daisy and how you showed the different ways to use it.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Hazel x
Fab cards Darnell, welcome back. I do love a good daisy stamp and you totally did it justice. :)
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely colouring and a fabulous, fun post! Jo x
ReplyDeleteThis sweet daisy is so wonderful Darnell, LOVE how you masked it, reminds me just what a clever paper crafter you are! ps I know she will adore it, better late than never lol.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to see you back. Gorgeous daisies Darnell! I haven't been getting error messages back on my comments. I also don't check the reply comments on posts! Yikes!
ReplyDeleteHi Darnell, glad you enjoyed your break. Your daisy cards are beautiful, I love all the daisy style flowers from the modest white ones growing in the lawn to the showy gerberas and the like.
ReplyDeleteJean x
Hello Darnell, beautiful cards, I love daisies whatever the colour.
ReplyDeleteGlad your rest has helped you, hugs Kate x
Darnell, at first, thanks for sharing beautiful cards! I like the colors. And the second think I want to thank you, I just read the note about comments and answering them and understand I never come back to find the answer, only if I'm waiting for it. And I'm so upset I do all my answers to comments I really appreciate and girls don't see them( now I realize I was mistaken. Now will answer in their blogs!
ReplyDeletePS: you card I've already received is absolutely GORGEO
Welcome back Darnell . . . yes, you certainly have been missed, but I'm glad that you are back feeling refreshed. LOVE your beautiful daisies. In answer to your question, no, I never go back after I've left a comment either (I have tried subscribing to those comments, but I would get everybody else's comment sent to me,which I didn't want) so O stopped subscribing to the post, so no, I don't know if anyone has replied to my comments. Have a great day/evening! Hazel xx
ReplyDeleteFirstly, I adore your daisy cards...the 2nd one is my fave. Love the CAS look of it:) 2ndly...would you believe I just swapped to YAHOO....& since then, everyone's been telling me I should've moved to GMAIL. TOO LATE>>> soooo frustrating :( Thirdly like you, I RARELY [never] go back to check if someone has answered my comment--- so it's a waste of time, I reckon. And I know you can get notification - but I've got enough stuff to do now!
ReplyDeleteSorry for the long comment. Really cheesed off that I chose YAHOO!!!!
Your daisy cards look lovely Darnell. Good to have you back 'n' refreshed.
ReplyDeleteRe: comments/replies. . . if it's helpful to others, I will REPLY after a comment for everyone to see the answer.
Mostly, I respond by email, although this is not possible if the person leaving the comment is a "no reply blogger". Having left a comment, I rarely go back to the same post . . . I make far too many comments to remember where I might have left a question!
Hugs, Sarn xxx
Beautiful cards Darnell! i love that beautiful daisy stamp. I especially love how you pizazzed up the centre of the flower with bling!!!
ReplyDeleteInteresting chat about comments and replies. I would not usually check for responses on someone's blog either. At times when I have had a back and forth conversation it has usually been either by email, meaning I left a comment and the person replied to me via email. that way, the conversation can continue it need be. I never check the box though either.
Have a happy day!
Shanna :)
Hi Darnell,
ReplyDeleteGreat cards i love them both.
I too NEVER go back to a blog to see if they commented on my comment. I simply don't have the time for it. It already takes a lot of time to visit my blog friends and to leave them some love so going back a second time is just too much for me. If someone asks me a question i reply to them personally via email. That's how i myself get replies back when i ask someone a question and that work just fine for me. Hugs Veerle x
Glad to see you back Darnell and bouncing and rocking with 2 completely stunning cards. Love them both equally. One perfect, CAS and elegant then the LIM one where it's not just as 'crisp' but WOW ... it makes up for it in the windswept, interesting and care-free splatters. Thanks as always for playing along at LIM. Sarah x
ReplyDeleteWhat a dummy! I forgot to thank you for entering over at ATSM and AAA Cards having seen it in your post! Think I'm hungry!!! Sarah xx
ReplyDeleteLove both of these cards, the centre of the flower is beeee utiful. Love how you did both. I like you never go back to see if anyone answered my question, I can never remember where I have been so its just lucky that I think most times people have responded to me by email. I
ReplyDeleteNow wait for it........I have finally decided to start a card blog. Just linking upstuff from Flickr at the moment, will let you know once I am posting new schtuff. I decided with being mum and dads carer, their dementia getting worse and looking after my daughter and family and of course my beautiful grandchildren to close off most of my work internet work. So I have closed down my sign language blog, my website goes down first week of May and will close down my business Facebook page shortly. I will still do conferences and phone support for voice output program but will back away from all the rest.
Starting my card blog means I can continue to have something that is just for me and hopefully will have the time to maintain it properly. What better name for my blog than 'colour and sparkle'. Really looking forward to this and hopefully you will have the time to let me know if it looks ok or needs something once its up and going.
Hugs Aileen
Fabulous cards... Darnell.....
ReplyDeleteHugs Sylvie xx
Nothing is more perky than a daisy. Love em! And yes, I get that 'mailor demon' saying my response was not delivered. Figured it was the powers that be blocking us. The big guns want everyone to be all yahoo, AOL or Google and it's just not happening. Like the blog press I used to create my posts.mniw it's only good on an iPhone not ipads. :( anyway, I do not go back to check my comments and I do not answer in the comment section. If I've asked a question somehow the answer is delivered usually, to my inbox and I didn't check the little box you speak of. All too confusing for this ol brain to keep up with these days. Anyways2, love the cards! Hugs
ReplyDeleteHi Darnell! Welcome back. Love your daisy cards. So happy and cheerful. Also appreciated the history. I did not know what you shared and am happy to know that now! :) As for comments, I have noticed that some previously regular commenters comments no longer get emailed to me. I think that what you wrote about is why. So sad. Like many others I don't go back to the blogs to check on answers/responses. Happy to see you posting again!
ReplyDeleteHi Darnell, love your daisies. Regarding comments...... I sometimes get those non-delivery notices but usually ignore them since I usually wait to see if a comment posts, so I know it did, so I think the nondelivery is just junkum. Did sometimes wonder if people wot don't use comment moderation read comments left. You have answered my curiosity brain cell. If someone asks a direct question on my blog I will answer it there, and often hunt them down and also leave the answer with them incase they don't come back. If I know someone replys to all their comments I check back when I visit, but I don't know where they find the time cos I have enough to do trying to visit and comment on all the great projects I keep seeing. Maybe I'm just slow. Hugz
ReplyDeleteOh I sooo love these Darnell my fave is the first one! and yeah I wondered about those comments too love getting a reply to a comment it is so polite, but have never done that myself(does that make me rude???)....and yes I check back because I never remember when a challenge closes,and love to see the cards that win so I can learn from them! x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards again, Darnell! Love the stamp and the daisies look fabulous in the purple. xx
ReplyDeleteHi Darnell I was just thinking about you this morning! Good to have you back and I hope you enjoyed your bloggy break. Your cards are gorgeous, especially the first one! An absolutely stunning one layer card. Pinning it right now!
ReplyDeleteThank for sharing the daisy story so interesting. The card is fab love your vibrant colours love and hugs Carole x
ReplyDeleteWelcome back.. although I confess I haven't missed you cos I've been awol too.... LOL
ReplyDeleteSeriously - HAVE missed your posts cos you always cheer me up!
Two lovely cards - great stamp and fab colours. x
Oh yay! Glad you're back and enjoyed your blog break! Everyone needs one of those now and again :) Your daisy cards are stunning! Love the beautiful bright pink! When someone leaves a question on my blog, I usually go to their blog and leave the answer on their latest post. :) Have a wonderful rest of the week my friend! (hugs)
ReplyDeleteGood to see you back Darnell, of course we missed you! Love love love your daisy cards, my fave colours too! Hugs Carole Z X
ReplyDeleteOh I'd so pick these daisies in a heartbeat... gorgeous, D... love that pizzazzaroo you've got going there!
ReplyDelete=] Michele
Darnell, Welcome back. The daisies are a great color.
ReplyDeleteI almost never go back to a post where I have left a comment. If I asked a question of the blogger I would make a note to check back in a couple days.
Sylvia D.
Beautiful daisies and beautiful cards Darnell!!! Love both of these.
ReplyDeleteLynn
She's back! And better than ever. First, thanks for taking that close up photo. That sparkle ROCKS! Second, your splattered card is Hallmarkworthy. Third, thanks (not) for the heads' up about the gmail crap. Um, what now? I would imagine it is a total nightmare for you and hammy with your fifteen million comments every day. And lastly, I never go back and check for replies to my comments (unless I've asked a specific question about a product and don't get a mail about it). Good of you to point that out to blogland. But then, you are so darn good at keeping us informed ;) Happy Spring.
ReplyDeleteOh Auntie, these two daisy cards are just gorgeous!! I love daisies so these are right up my ally. lol My answer to your question is not usually will I go back to a blog to find out an answer to my question to them. First off, I've probably forgotten that I asked the question and secondly I go to too many blogs that I wouldn't remember who I asked a question to. I respond to a question in my blog comments if I can't email the person who asked it, other than that I don't put a comment on my own blog. I don't know what the if I'm being proper or not though. lol Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteOh and yes, I did miss you, but glad that you are fresh as a daisy again!! Now I wish I felt that way. lol Loved learning about this too! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteI love that you showed both - the masked version and the full version - it is a good reminder that we can get more out of our stamps! So glad you're back!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back! And, I must say such gorgeous daisy cards! Gorgeous color! I must mask more often because I really like the effect it gives! Have a great day!:-)
ReplyDeleteDarnell , great cards !!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love both your daisies but especially the card with the whole daisy showing. And the purples and sparkles are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness Darnell, what a lot of comments, I think you've been missed! You certainly do get bright pink daisies, two lovely cards. And no, I don't return to see if someone's left me a comment, cause then you'd have to comment in their comment, wouldn't you? You'd be at it all day. Lol. Xx
ReplyDeleteHi Darnell
ReplyDeleteDelicious daisies and good to have you back!
I'm fine with purple daisies as its my favourite colour.
I don't revisit either so would be oblivious to a reply.if anyone poses a question on my blog, I reply within the body of my next post.
Ooooh, this blogging can be a minefield.
Best wishes.
Ang x
Welcome back! Of course, you were missed. You lighten up the blog world. :-)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the daisy and that AWESOME color. Both are beautiful and I always like the splats.
LOVELY daisy cards!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm with you on two of the technical matters. One, the no email for comments. One reason I don't like Yahoo or AOL. Just too much trouble. Pffth.
And I also agree on in-line commenting. I never go back to a blog post on which I've commented. If I reply to someone, it's to the emailed comment I get in Gmail (if I get one).
Hello, Darnell! Welcome back! Yes, you were missed! I love your daisy cards - both are beautiful! Fabulous masking on the first card - I must try this! Love the splatter on the second one!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the update on why I am not receiving email notifications - it's only certain people's comments and it's annoying to say the least. So I've been double-checking my blog posts too to see what I'm missing. I lodged a complaint on Blogger but I don't know why I wasted my time as they were no help at all!
And your second point about people replying to comments on their own blog is one that I always wonder about too. Personally the only time I ever go back to see if there's a reply is if I've asked a direct question - and then only if I remember that I've asked it and am still curious about it later. My memory is not so good! Thanks for an informative post and some inspirational cards!
Thanks for the botany/history/old wives tales lesson Darnell and I love your fancy daisy too, with glorious splatters!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the reply biz... I don't suppose many people go back to see what is written, it depends if they have asked a question to which they are desperate for an answer or not.
Glad you had a good break!
Thanks so much
Chrissie
"Less is More
Hi Darnell,
ReplyDeletesorry I didn't miss you as I was away too looking after my Grand Children in the Easter holidays.
Love you super cards, they are a usual brilliantly created.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
WB with such gorgeous cards! I love how you colored them both! To answer your question, I don't have the time to return to blogs I left comments on to double check for replies! I'd never be leaving my computer if I tried to do that! I will click the person's name and leave a comment on their blog, but I rarely if ever go back and look for replies. I have people who often leave comments asking questions with no way to contact them to give an answer, so I will usually edit my blog post to answer those questions if possible, and hope that they might check back for a reply. I try, but I cannot find everyone who comments - especially those using Google+ as I don't use it and therefore cannot leave comments for those users. Wasn't life easier at one time??? lol
ReplyDeleteWelcome back and a double welcome for returning with such a beautiful pair of cards. Love the purple colours and the daisy is a gorgeous stamp!
ReplyDeleteI tend not to go back to read replies unless I have asked a question - there just aren't enough hours in the day are there?
Hope you enjoyed your break.
Hugs
Carol x
WHAT, I dreamt of you last night, wondering where you've been!!! LOL I love when people let me hyperventilate too ;) Fabulous card! Love the purple. Hope you're well, my friend.
ReplyDeleteMissed you but glad you got some time for other things. Both cards are beautiful...Monika's gonna love hers. As to the "reply" issue, I'm so completely hopeless with technology, I had no idea a reply wouldn't really reply. Nuts! Now I have to figure something else out. So much for fat, dumb & happy. Thanks for letting your viewers know. I appreciate it!
ReplyDeleteTwo really GORGEOUS cards, Darnell! I love how you blended different hues to achieve such a beautiful color on the petals, and how you added sparkle to their centers!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet of you to create a card for Monika...she is such a lovely girl!
Thanks for the info/update on Blogger and email issues...I always appreciate your research! I enjoyed learning about the origin of the name 'daisy'...Thanks! Hope all is well with you...Hugs!
The mind goes first, right? I completely forgot to say ~ Thank you so much for playing along with us this week at ATSM! We always enjoy seeing your creations in the gallery!
ReplyDeleteHi Darnell,
ReplyDeletenice to see you again and hear! I really like your new card. I love daisies, because they are so innocent and modest. Your cards are also the same. Monika has reason to be proud and great joy that you remembered her birthday and in addition You have given her such a beautiful card.
hugs,
Bozena
Welcome back and with such a gorgeous card! Darnell this is stunning I especially love the center of your flower and od course the color. Hope you enjoyed your break . I do think I am behind so off to looks at some of your other post.
ReplyDeleteIf I hadn't read your post, or if you'd made two separate ones, I would never have realized you'd used the same stamp for these cards. I love getting inspiration on how to stretch what's in your stash, and this is a really clever way to make the stamp seem like two different ones.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back! Sometimes we do need to take breaks ! Your break must have worked! Your purple daisies are gorgeous! Love how you did the centers!
ReplyDeleteNo, I don't go back and and see replies on the comment area. So you are definitely not the only one who doesn't do that!
Welcome back! Yes you were missed! Glad you enjoyed your break and you've come back with two fabulous cards. Love them both.
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful cards, Darnell! Welcome back! :)
ReplyDeleteI love your purple daisies, Darnell! And no, you aren't the only one. I wouldn't know if someone commented on my comment.
ReplyDeleteMiss you? who are you?, kidding
ReplyDeleteJust love this card , the colour is gorgeous and I am certain we have daisies that colour.
Yes I am sure that I get a reply from some who has commented on my comment but I have never commented on a comment that has been left on my blog.
Talking of comments, thanks for your on my NBUS entry and it is not only your logo that I can not put on my side bar but any logo, a few weeks ago I was drawn the winner at Allsorts challenge and I couldn't get that logo either.
I have changed computers and I now have an i-Mac and it is so totally different and I have not yet fathomed how to do it.
Sorry to waffle, glad to have you back and glad you enjoyed the break.
Kath x
I did miss you, I look forward to your posts, even if I am a bit late at times! I love the daisy and I think it looks gorgeous in purple - very striking.
ReplyDeleteI am with Yahoo and did have problems, not with your blog, but a couple of others - I will complain to them - it is not right to change things up like that!
I have noticed that people leave comments occasionally after I comment but I don't go back, as a rule, unless I have asked them a question. Sadly, I would never be off the computer if I went back to each one! I will just have to live in blissful ignorance! Lovely to have you back! Hugs, Annie xx
Hope you enjoyed your spring break. It is good to take a break and get refreshed.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back and love all those beautiful daisies too!
ReplyDeleteLook at you with the daisy knowledge! And just look at those 2 cards! Beauties both, and smitten with the pupleiscious (where's that spell check?) bd card! Gorgeous! Welcome back, hope you're all reinvigorated and ready to do your job of hosting the most popular blog on the planet! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI love these 2 cards and I have seen the colour of this daisy which they call a gerbera-it looks like a daisy to me:) I was so silly that I thought they were dead so I deadheaded my daisies and my mom wondered why I was pinching off perfectly nice flowers-Can we say Blond? I had no idea they went to sleep. I belong to other blog places like writers and film nuts and just people talking about their day so I do leave replies. Sometimes it is a simple thanks but other times I tend to talk:)
ReplyDeleteWelcome back Dolly! I've missed your posts!
ReplyDeleteYou started back with a bang. Two beautiful daisy cards. Love the colours. And a lovely tribute to Monika!
I have a difficult time figuring out how to response to most of my commenters. They come into my mailbox without a return email, so I'm stuck unless I happen to know them personally. I mean, that's what I'd like to do, answer their comments and get to know them better. But blogger is not very cooperative about it. And rarely do people add their email to their profiles. Power to you for being able to get in contact with the majority of your readers.
As for going back after comment. I don't do that. If I have someone ask a question on my blog, then I reply to their question on the blog and try to send them an email as well (if I have their email address). That way others can see the response in case they had the same question. Hope that helps. Lolly xx
So lovely to have you back Darnell but glad you had a nice break to recharge your batteries. I love these dazzling daisies Darnell and that deep pinky plum is gorgeous and the centres have lots of pretty sparkle. I love the clever masking on the first and the spattering is just right on the second and accompanied by that great sentiment too. x
ReplyDeleteOoooh, Darnell, I love those daisies. The first one looks like you beaded the center. So elegant! Go back and check my blog? When would I ever have time to do that? I barely have time to see the posts that are on my blog feed, I'm so busy with those I get by email. I do wonder about that "no reply" thing on some comments. I don't know who has to change that so people can comment directly.
ReplyDeleteBoth of your cards are fabulous! I'm especially fond of the second one:) And no, I don't return to a comment I've made to see if a return comment has been left!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back Darnell! I sure missed you, but so happy that you are back!
ReplyDeleteI love these two daisy cards and how different a large flower image can look like when masked! Those glittery pieces in the center of the masked are spectacular in every way, colour, texture and your special pizzazaroo ingredient! Love all of your splatters and specks on the other!
Lovely card! Thanks for joining in at AAA~
ReplyDeleteAlso, thanks for the info on the returned mail -- it has been driving me CRAZY wondering what the heck it was~ You're so good to inform the rest of use :)
Glad you are back~ Hope you enjoyed your break
Hello sweet friend! These cards are beautiful, sparkly, masterpieces! I thought masking it was fabulous and then I saw it in all it's glory and thought well it's stunning that way too! Amazing work!! As far as the reply on the blog thing goes, no I don't return but often times I get an email saying they replied to my comment.
ReplyDeleteWoohoo, you're back! And not only with two fabulous cards but with a lesson in English, some techie info, new friends and everything!
ReplyDeleteI only follow one person who responds to comments and I've been wondering why she does that and if people really go back to check because I usually don't! Glad, you brought it up!
Hi Darnell! I'm glad you're feeling refreshed... welcome back! Speaking of which... I'm so happy to be visiting you tonight! Thank you for sticking with me during my lengthy absence. My mom is recovering well and I'll be back to crafty Blogger fun next week!
ReplyDeleteYour daisy creations are dazzling! So much beauty to behold! Your work is always lovely and I have missed it. I did not know that info about daisies! Thank you for sharing it. :o) And no, I do not have time to return to blogs.. the interaction is sweet, but I imagine largely unnoticed! :/ I have one friend who replies and I go back there when I can. Have a beautiful night, friend!
Hugs and blessings,
Karen
Welcome back. Two gorgeous cards, new friends and tech info. Fabulous. Love the sentiment on the second card and all the pazzaz of the first.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you shared your point on the tech stuff. I personally don't go back to post unless I am CASing or linking to a challenge. I do try to say thank you to people who comment on my blog, but I am not vigilant with this. I do realise people don't read them, but I don't get 100's of comments.
Hey sweet lady, missed you! But we all need to unplug now and again. Beautiful cards today, Love the daisy and the fancy sparkly centers. If someone asks me a question, I email them or head to their post to leave and answer on their latest post. Sadly there are some you just can't track down :(
ReplyDeleteAwesome cards, Miss Lady!! Thanks for playing at ATSM!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely flower! That purple is awesome for your cards. I don't have a favorite--I like them both!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back Darnell and hope you are nice and refreshed. Monika sure loves purple (clever Lady!) AMD this card is so perfect for her. Take care and have a good day. X
ReplyDelete2 lovely cards, Darnell! I really love the second one & I have that sentiment which I need to get out & use! Glad you got some relaxation & glad you're back!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card and CASE Darnell, you are always so sweet to remember everyone--how do you do it? Monika is such a sweetheart and she will appreciate this so much!
ReplyDelete...ohh and yes thank you for sharing at the Curtain Call!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back from your break, what beautiful cards, so different from each other and both so stylish
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining us at LIM
Darnell, Your cards are fantastik! Coloring is fabulouse! Corors are vibrant...
ReplyDeleteBut the most important part of your post for me is about comments. I always thought why don't they all answer?! Then I sat down and thought a litle bit: I never return to the girls I commented and don't wait an aswer from them. Thank you for opening my eyes)
PS: I recieved your card these days! It is awasome!!! Thank you so much) I soon post you acrd back))
See you, Ksenia
Pretty daisies and the sparkles and splatters delight me.
ReplyDeleteThanks teacher for your investigations and lesson summary.That answers some questions. Be well
Carole
Playing catch up today with some of the blogs I like to visit, so didn't realize you had taken a bit of a break, but glad you are back!! And I LOVE the cards you made...both are CAS and just perfect Darnell! And I also like the purple color for your daisies...who cares if it's not a "real" color...it's called artistic license!! :0) Anyway, they're both beautiful! Welcome back and have a wonderful weekend! :0)
ReplyDeleteTwo fabulous cards Dippy - so glad you enjoyed your break. The purple daisies are sooooooo pretty and I love both styles. I've wondered about the reply to comments on blogs as I certainly don't go back to see if a question has been answered......won't click the see all comments box as don't want to be inundated with stuff I'm not interested in - so if you come across a solution please let us know.
ReplyDeleteHugs.
Hello sweet friend; thrilled you've returned rejuvenated, refreshed and bearing daisies that are absolutely gorgeous! We rarely see daisies around here, so yours have truly caught my attention; stunning! I'm guilty of not returning to blogs to see replies, however, if someone leaves a question on my blog, I answer it on there most recent post. Actually, of late, I'm so far behind in commenting that people may think I'm being 'rude'...I'm not..just another bout of disorganized! Happy dancing your re-arrival...
ReplyDeleteHugs~c
Glad you feel fresh and ready to go again :) Great daisy image and love how you coloured it. Thanks for joining us at The Curtain Call too :) I do not reply to comments on my blog under their comment as I never return to a blog and don't want a gazillion e-mails if I check the reply box.
ReplyDeleteOh I certainly missed you!! Then again I did take some time out to spend with a blog friend over from Holland and that was so much fun!
ReplyDeleteYour cards are stupendous!! I love that stamp and the sparkle ... As for comments ... well I too always wondered about the 'reply' bit ... I never go back either to see what was written - I really don't have the time
Darnell, your card is gorgeous!! I love that beautiful color of your flower and a wonderful CAS style too!! :) Happy weekend my friend! Thanks for sharing your creation with us at Addicted to Stamps & More! Hugs & Smiles - *Vicki*-DT member
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card, I know Monika will love it!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back sweetie, the cards are fabulous, Darnell!
ReplyDeleteI don't go back to blogs for checking answers, reciprocal visits are always welcome and quite nice :)
Love and hugs
Maarit
OMG - two fabuloso cards! Great colors - purple is always great, so hwy not color those daisies in purple.
ReplyDeleteAs for the comments - at least if you use blogger you can change your settings form a no-reply blogger to a I guess reply blogger - you can google how to do that and then you get those follow-up comments. I really don't have time to check and see if I got a reply. )But I am a reply blogger...)I only do that if I ask somebody a specific question and hope they answered it.
Soo sooo sooooo gorgeous!! I love how you kept it contained within the square. Colours are beautiful too xx
ReplyDeleteOh Darnell these are fantabulous!!!! Love love love them - the colour, the design - everything about them.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are back and I can visit.
And no, I do not go back to see replies to my comments, with one exception, and that is not a crafty blog.
Blessings
Maxine
Happy you are back, Darnell! Love both of your beautiful daisy cards.
ReplyDeleteYes, daisies come is all sorts of amazing colors :-)
No, I don't go back to Blogs to see if there is a reply under my comment either :-(
so glad to see you back Darnell! I love your bright daisy card, and the tidbit on where the saying comes from was so fun to learn! Thanks for sharing your sweet personality with all of us!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the lovely comments over on my blog. That muse has been working hard on all my collage fun. Love when you pop over to see me and say hello.. Your daisy card is so pretty love the little splatters of colour and the beautiful embossing.
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful daisy designs, Darnell, and great colour choice too. Very different feel to these but equally beautiful. Thanks for joining in at the photo challenge at ATSM!
ReplyDeleteAs for commenting, I don't generally reply to a comment, more often comment on their latest post where they're more likely to see it. Just no time to revisit! Hugs xx
Two stunning Cards Darnell and daisies are my favourites! So happy to have you back in blogland and also that you joined us this week at ATSM:) Hugs xx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards! Love them both! Really pretty! Thank you so much for joining us at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Hugs, Sandra
ReplyDeleteGlad you are back fresh as a daisy, Darnell! Love your cards - my favorite is the first one with the frame "bursting" with the daisy image.
ReplyDeleteWow, your cards are so gorgeous!! What depth of color you achieved!! The daisies look amazing!!
ReplyDeleteI've noticed the same thing about comments not appearing in my inbox and I don't often think to go check my blog comments. It's frustrating. I looked for a fix months ago, to no avail. And I never go back to blog posts I've commented on, so I miss out if someone leaves a sweet reply. Have a great day :)
Glad you enjoyed your break Darnell and have returned fresh as two stunning daisies. Both amazing, wonderful CAS designs and colours. Love the thoughtful PB sentiment xx
ReplyDeleteSo if I make a daisy card today, maybe I'll feel fresher... sure could use it! :) Good idea to remind folks about replying. Only way I reply (if I have time) is via my email too. Cheers. I'm just back from craft hiatus so lots of catching up to do on your blog! hugs.
ReplyDeleteLove the daisy card and the purple. But purple is my favorite color. Glad you are back! I'm not on as much as I use to be do to working more hours. Hugs - Sue
ReplyDeleteSeems a few of us have been sneaking away to recharge the batteries Darnell...I've had a few days too! Loving your daisies and the colours are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI'm another who rarely looks back to see if there is a comment left on my comment, just not enough hours in the day!! Carol x
I think daisies can be any color you want them to be... and I think I have seen a purple daisy or two in my life time.. I love this card.. very purty! Thanks for the e-mail update.
Stunning...beautiful...and amazing! I love your cards, they are over the top fabulous. Thank you so much for the lessons...I always love that you take the time to research to find answers...you are just amazing my dear friend!
ReplyDeleteKrasna voščilnica!
ReplyDeletewonderfull daisy card
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely Daisy cards, Darnell. Sorry I have been absent, but there is a new little hellion in our house, and she is causing havoc during her waking hours. Yep, new pup. Craft time has been limited and I have not grown to resent it just yet. Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteFabulous cards as always, Darnell, and thank you for the lovely introduction :)
ReplyDeleteThis is oh, so lovely, Darnell.
ReplyDeleteSoo glad your back and refreshed!! Your card is stunning, love love your coloring! Gorgeous Darnell!
ReplyDeleteSo nice to have you back, have really missed your entertaining emails!! I just love your purple daisy and I bet Monika does too. I can't chose which card I like more though, masked or unmasked (sounds a bit like Batman....). Both are fabulous! Was reading your comments about replying to comments and not seeing them. Quite often I will leave a comment for someone and then if I happen to return to that blog post, I will see that they replied to my comment but I never saw it or got an email about it. So if I want to reply to a comment on my own blog, I tend to reply to their email or leave a message on their blog. This way it won't be missed. Its a pain though but added to the list of faults with the internet. However, the whole blogging thing is rather awesome don't you think??
ReplyDeleteWELCOME BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWell, I think you should know by now how much you have been missed by all the comments that have been left for you...
You, obviously, have NOT been forgotten!!! smile.
Your cards are very pretty and so nicely done!
Love both the card, Darnell! And that extra pizazazaroo is just awesome. Love & Regards!
ReplyDeleteSo happy to learn about Dasies! Your cards are spectacular and so fitting for the season. Awesome job! Love the added bling as well.
ReplyDeleteAs for your question about replying to comments: as a newbie to blogging, I can say that I do reply to any comment left on my blog. I do this because when I first learned what a blog was, I happened upon a blog with this amazing mixed media canvas and she replied to comments. The majority of blogs I went to had this setup and I thought it was what people with art blogs did. :) I didn't want to be rude to anyone and not say a quick "thank you". I understand more about blogging today and do realize that people may not read my thank you reply but I like to do it. Thanks to everyone for sharing their perspective about this question as I have learned much by reading the previous comments. Hugz! ~Niki
That is totally STUNNING Darnell!
Welcome back and glad to see you took some time for just you and relax! Love this CAS card showcasing the flower....it's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back Darnell. Both of your cards are just gorgeous, and I cannot pick a favorite. I know that Monika will adore hers. I am glad that you wrote about people who respond to comments on their own blog. I have always wondered why one would do that? I can barely get around once to all the blogs I want to see, but never twice in the same post! Hmmm....
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunner!! I love the beautiful center of that flower!!
ReplyDeleteSorry...been MIA...yardwork...pond is up and running, fish not in yet, but soon.
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS daisy cards (or did I already comment?). I love the variation in the depth of color. Great job matching the boldness of the color to the sentiments.
As for commenting...it took me forever to discover that a reply never made it back to the person who left the comment! If a question has been asked, I will search out the e-mail address and reply that way.
another gorgeous card, Darnell!
ReplyDeleteAwww...love!
ReplyDeleteWELCOME BACK & thank you for the daisies - they are my very favorite but then I think you already knew that!! Wonderful, beautiful cards with such sparkle to them!! I am truly in love with them!!! Thank you, Thank you for the birthday email and Then the birthday card!! Awesome and Thanks!!!
ReplyDeleteThese are just bootiful Miss D!! Love them both.
ReplyDeleteHugs
xx
What beautiful cards!! I LOVE the masking on the first card and the way you used that fun ruby glitter sparkles in the middle. Really "wows" it up!! Your second card is just as lovely. I am kind of into purple as of late and these just make me happy.
ReplyDeleteAs for the comments-I alway wondered the same thing. If someone asks me a question, I try to find their e-mail or will reply to them on their blog in a comment. I would't expect them to keep coming back to look for an answer on my blog!!
Welcome back, Darnell ... missed you (even though I'm behind in coming by!). Gorgeous daisies ... the pzazzaroo is fabby ... Monika will be loving hers! Comments to comments ... I don't return ... goodness, it can take me a week to get there once! As a 'reply' to a comment, I always go and pay a blog visit (if there is one) ... if there isn't, or it's a specific question or I want to keep it personal ... then I email. I'm guessing people believe a reply on their blog finds it way to the commenter ... you've probably saved a whole load of people a whole load of future time now!! Still missing you, my lovely friend! Hugs & Bisous, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteI got caught up in all that technical stuff at the end of your post (which was informative and timely)....... but let's not talk tech, let's talk happy purple daisies that are full of pizazazaroo! Lovely, lovely, cards!
Hi Darnell, thank you so much for playing with us again and sharing your lovely card. But more so, thank you for the two points you bring up in your post. I'm (me) having trouble on both comment notes, as you may already know. Gives me something to work on- so thanks. Have a lovely Spring, Victoria
ReplyDeleteHi Darnell! Just had to stop back on this sweet card and wish you congratulations on your Honourable Addict win over at Addicted to stamps! You deserve it! Hugs, Nina :)
ReplyDeleteHello Dear Darnell. I so love your daisy creations. The masking makes them so different - what a wonderful, simple way to work with one image for completely different results. Your coloring is also so wonderful. Those ruby glitter sparkles really are PIZZAZY!! What a great touch! Love the splatters. OK, I love everything on these cards. Thanks for sharing, linking up with us and playing at AAA Cards!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your HONOURABLE ADDICTS win over at ATCAS! :)
ReplyDeleteHi, congrats on your win at ATSM and also being featured on the Snippets playground! Hurrah!
ReplyDeleteOh my you're having a winning week - home from a few days away and so far I've looked at ATCAS and the Snippets Playground and there you are getting much deserved mentions on both - well done.
ReplyDeleteThat daisy stamp is gorgeous. I love how you used non-traditional colors on it. The cards are stunning.
