Today we are celebrating Sandie Munroe of London Days as she turns another year older and better than ever! Sandie is well-known and well-loved throughout the towns, valleys, and villages in Blogland! She plays in challenges, owns challenges, designs for challenges, and leaves wonderful comments of support and encouragement!!
I'll cut the chatter today so you can hop around the gallery and go make a card and join in the linky party over on Kylie's Addicted to Stamps blog.
As you no doubt know, Sandie loves purple, so this first card is the card that I made and sent off to her:
When she opens up the peek-a-boo opening, she will find a friend who wants to party with her on her special day!
I had to lay the card flat to remove the shadows so you could see him. The "Peek-a-Boo" die is from Pretty Pink Posh. The partying frog is from an OOB company. The "Let's Party" NBUS sediment is from Paper Smooches "Word Salad."
And that's not dandruff on the card. I shook my Wink of Stella too hard and ended up with a puddle in the lid, so I whacked it with a pencil to shower the card with teeny winkles. Here is a close-up of the second card I made in white. Perhaps you can see the sparkly WOS glittering up the party animal!

Look Away!
Okay, so head's up. The next card I made contains a naughty word. You should click off now if you think you might be offended and think less of me in the morning.
I don't mean to offend anyone, but I got this stamp set from "Funny Bones" by Riley & Company that just karacks me up. It's an expression we use here in America. I mean, of course, if we're naughty. The modern day version with no naughty word is, "Thank you, Captain Obvious!"
Anywize, the hamster and I have been trying to figure out a way to design a card for it and we think this peek-a-boo die is the perfect vehicle:
Sherlock |
I'm so bad!

ReplyDeleteI haven't seen a card made with this peekaboo opening before, but it's not unusual for me to discover new things when coming over here:) super cute cards with a little surprise element, perfect for postage.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun cards with that peek-a-boo feature. Your frog is "toadally" awesome. PARTY ON!!!
ReplyDeleteDo I need to get the bar of soap! ( as my mother and I would later say to my kids) :)
ReplyDeleteLove your cards and the purple one for Sandie is too cute love the way you used that die.
Aw! Really enjoyed BOTH of these! And #2 made me laff all over agin. So we can have another acronym: NSS??? And we will ALL know what it means! Your cards are just delightful, and Big Happies to Miss Sandie. TFS & Hugs
ReplyDeleteI love your peek-a-boo cards Auntie! They are just so fun and cute, love that sparkling frog! I do love frogs and when I lived in the south as a young teen, you would find me out catching said frogs. Even as an adult, you will still see me chasing down a frog at night just to hold him. lol It is your second card that really had me chuckling as yes, this is what we say all the time in America! Let's see, if I had a penny for each time this was said or I heard it I would be a rich woman! Love that they made it into a stamp set. lol A very Happy Birthday to Miss Sandie!! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteA cutie and a sassy...love them both! Your second card made my smile a little wider 😬
ReplyDeleteHugs to you Darnell and have a great weekend!
Cute birthday card and the other one is so funny and hilarious! That cracked me up too!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Sandie. This is a fun card for her. Love the raised peek a boo opening and the surprise inside. The second card didn't surprise me when I saw the inside. I had already said Sherlock to myself when I read the sentiment! Bad me, that I knew what was coming. That is a cute card.
ReplyDeleteGreat style of card and quite unique I think, not offended at all, a word I used regularly when I was a working girl.
ReplyDeleteKath x

You can never offend me Darnell, I love a good swear-word every now and then, and try to save them for extra good (or bad) moments. This is an extra good one...its hilarious!! Love it and also your card for Sandie. She will love all the purpleliciousness (?) and bet she had a fabulous birthday knowing how much she is loved by us all.
