Greetings, my lovelies! Welcome to the fresh clean start of a whole other Monday!
Who is still schtuffed from Thanksgiving Day in America, even though it was four days ago? Aah, those leftovers are better than the rightovers and don't even get me started on the pies! Now that our second major holiday in two months is behind us, we can march onward to the third one in three months! It might give me the vapors if I didn't have a passle of helping paws to guide me.

Now that our second major holiday in two months is behind us, we can march onward to the third one in three months! It might give me the vapors if I didn't have a passle of helping paws to guide me.
Of today's Fourfer, let's start with this specially made card:
As a winner of the September Sketch Challenge, I am thrilled to make the above card as a Guest Designer for the Happy Little Stampers (HLS) December Sketch Challenge!
And I'm happy to use one of Kylie's sediments from her wonderful HLS set "Everyday Sentiments!" Here is the fun sketch for you to use this month!
Besides using my NBUS sediment from HLS, my QACAS card is made from DSP from my stash, clear embellies, a dual-stitched circle die from Lil' Inker, and a sediment label made from a SU punch. The pine cone stamp is from a Hero Arts set called "Needles and Cones." Here is a close-up of the silver embossing:
While I had my pine cone and sediment stamps out, I went from silver to copper and made this:
Yes, that bottom panel is ribbon and, yes, I prolly made a similar card last year as every year I take out my gorgeous and kissable ribbon to make a few elegant cards. You'll be seeing more of these ribbon-easy cards in various designs in the days to come.
~~~
I made this card last year and never posted it. I thought I would share it now since it fit my theme for the day:
I made this card last year and never posted it. I thought I would share it now since it fit my theme for the day:
This pine cone stamp is from All Night Media, the pine needle stamp is from SU, and the sediment stamp is from Hot Fudge Studio. Thazza lotta layers for me!
~~~
Because there's a theme, here's another QACAS pine cone card that I made by upcyling a beautiful CC I received last year from my friend Cheryl, who I affectionately call Myrtha, for no reason whatsoever. Likewise, she calls me Ethel.
I was so pleased to find the shiny background DSP in my stash which was perfect for the beautiful and glittery repurposed front panel.

Last and Best
I'm sorry I haven't posted for several days, but after a delightful Thanksgiving where our thoughtful son and DIL sweetly took over the entire delicious meal prep and cleanup (whoop!) we had the twins for a multi-night sleepover (double whoop!)! Watching them build a mine in the back yard out of PFC pipe, shingles, paint cans, and a croquet set brought back happy memories of my own vivid imagination at that age. Okay, at this age, too. I may have joined them getting muddy and innovative with Papa's things, but don't tell him. He was napping.
Finally, here they are, proud of having decorated most of the 2015 Christmas tree all by themselves! Each year they can reach higher up, which is cornvenient because each year I am shrinking!

Adam and Henry are so handsome! Look at those smiles! I love your pine cones Darnell - that embossing has me drooling!
ReplyDeleteLOVIN' all of the pinecones Darnell!! These are all fabulous. Glad you posted the card you made last year, so pretty! My brother's oldest is expecting identical twin boys in April!! I'm collecting twins advice for her from my neighbor with 8 year old twin girls!! I'll bet you have oodles of twins stories!!
ReplyDeleteHey girl!!!!! Here I am trying to get back into some sort of swing of things. Been running all day so far and this is the first chance I've had to peruse blogland. LOVE all these gorgeous pinecone cards. One is more beautiful than the next. I hope I have as much mojo as you do!!! Wanna get back to it.... And what handsome boys! They are really growing and I can see a whole lot of you in Adam especially, then I see a whole lot of your fun and sassy attitude in Henry!! They grow up so fast! Will try to post some of my little ones on my blog when I get the chance! Miss you!!! Bev
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards, Darnell, every one of them!! I just love the look of the pinecones when they're embossed. So shiny and sweet! Your two little "two-fers" aren't so little any more. Next year they'll be putting the star on the tree themselves. So glad you got to spend some fun time with them and make some special memories. I'm also so glad you joined us as a designer!! It's always a joy to come here and get my giggles for the day. ;0)
ReplyDeleteBeautififul collection of pine cone cards Darnell, that ribbon on the second one is really gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteIt's handy to have grandsons growing taller as you get shorter. I know what you mean though.
Jean x
I love all these pine cone cards, but I think my favorite is last year's. Maybe it's the texture - so beautiful, I want to touch it.
ReplyDeleteAnd those boys are growing up! Handsome dudes, too. :)
Those are just beautiful cards. I love them all with the gorgeous embossing. It's a Wonderful Life is just my favorite of the bunch. Adam looks just like you! They are so handsome and I bet they are so much fun. It was so nice they could spend some quality time with you over the holiday. I love having the grands come and spend the night here.
ReplyDeletePine cones, pine cones everywhere - and I love all of them! They're all gorgeous! Great designs on each one and love the shine on the first one.
ReplyDeleteGood looking couple of young men there - and a beautiful tree to boot. Know y'all had a wonderful time!
Lynn
OKAY, now...I'm thoroughly jealous...not only is your tree up, you didn't have to decorate it. Wow!, I need to borrow those handsome boys. Looks as though they did a bang up job, too. So glad you had a wonderful weekend with them. Especially after not having to do all the Thanksgiving stuff yourself. Lucky girl. Apparently, I didn't train my children too well. And then you get a Guest Designer shot...brother, did you do it up proud, girl. All that silver shimmer makes my heart pitter-pat. This entire post is like an homage to the pine cone. Each card is stunning and different. I bow to the master.
ReplyDeleteThree fabulous creations and glad you had a great Thanksgiving Day. Two very good looking boys and glad they are pleased to help with the tree, looks great.
ReplyDeleteKath x
Fab cones Darnell... and the 2 boys are pretty good as well!
ReplyDeleteFabulous collection of cards, Darnell.
ReplyDeleteElaine

ReplyDeleteWow! How many beautiful cards with cones and the one with the Christmas wishes looks just fantastic!!!
ReplyDeleteThe two little boys are so cute with their smiles stamped on faces! :)
Fabulous pine cone cards Darnell and glad to see your old one too. How nice that you have the boys to stay over. They are two very handsome young men. Barbxx
ReplyDeleteFabulous Fourfer, Dolly!! Love your line up of beautiful pine cone cards. I don't know where you find your special ribbon ... but it's SO PRETTY!! And what a great way to embellish a card. LOVE the idea of upcycling your friend's card for this year.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a busy Thanksgiving ... your dear Son and DIL were sweet to take on the meal prep and clean-up. Lots of fun to have some time with Adam and Henry too. They did a great job with decorating the tree.
Thanks so much for joining us as Guest Designer at Happy Little Stampers! Lolly xx
Congratulations on your win! All four cards are gorgeous but the one with the ribbons has stolen my heart, I keep going back for another look - you are very clever, it is amazing!
ReplyDeleteAdam and Henry are shooting up like weeds (!), they are so tall now - a very handy pair to have around to decorate the tree for sure! They did a great job on the tree too! Love and hugs, Annie xxx
How exciting that you won!! Congratulations!! Your FOUR cards are simply stunning!! I LOVE the silver card. Just so peaceful to me. The copper pinecone one is my favorite, though. Fabulous design.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty tree. The twins did a fabulous job!!
Oh my ...these are all gorgeous(hard to choose a favourite)...and so are your lovely grandsons!(no favourites there....not allowed) You have been a busy bee and still are by the sound of it. Congratulations on your win too! glad you had a wonderful thanksgiving with your family. Here's to the next celebration eh!! Hugs xx
ReplyDeleteA great pine series on your cards, dear Darnell. I especially love the first one with sparkly background paper. Simply elegant in grey! :-) Thank you for sharing a photo of your twins.:-)
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Sonja
What great pine cone cards all glittery and shiny! Glad your sone and DIL took over the Thanksgiving cooking and you were able to enjoy those handsome grandsons.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the GDT spot Darnell, you aced that sketch. A fabulous fourfer today, loving all the stamps you've used. My haven't those boys grown up of late! Carol x
ReplyDeleteDear MR Cents, I am in receipt of your noteification. Now lets just get straight down to the nitty gritty basics shall we? Can I be very Frank 'N' forthright with you? This ere building is on effective lock down as the front door is triple bolted, the letter box is blue tacked up, the windows are locked and the keys are all in the safety deposit box under the bed the combination of which has been written on the piece of paper which I gave The doc to eat in his very tasty taco meal this evening. We have one of those cage fings on the chim aney pot which is proving to be a most valuable asset and has put the price of this house on the open market up by at least £5.00. Just don't menshun/remind him bout the pigeons wot absailed down the said chimney into the lounge and did unspeakable fings to The Docs newly painted walls which recipicated us getting the afore said cage fitted. Black out curtains have been hung, lights are off and the cat has been in since 6pm. Yes sireee we are ready for that little person should he try to avail his self of our hosipaltiy/sanity this year.
ReplyDeleteyours truly Mrs & Mrs B. Army.
I really like those wonderful pine cones. Thank you so much for taking time to post your very creative art with us this week at Word Art Wednesday in our 211th AG challenge! Blessings, Carole
ReplyDeleteSo gorgeous!! LOVING those pinecones and the tree looks WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove all the different ways you used that gorgeous pine cone! Glad to read that I am not the only one who still has stamps from All Night Media...
ReplyDeleteYour grandsons are getting so handsome!
Love the pine cone theme .....each one prettier than the next, very creative! Awesome Christmas tree and Handsome GS
ReplyDeleteLove your four for, I tried my first three for one or is it one for three. Anyway love all your cards, especially that first one. Talk about catch my eye at the blog where you are GDT yahooo congrats. Your grandsons are really growing up, so handsome. Elysha decorates our tree and at night I wait for her to go to sleep and I move the decorations up then she never realises and is so proud to tell people she decorated the tree. She is so short (a common thing with a lot of kids with down sydnrome) and is lucky to hit 4 foot 10 and very short arm reach so nothing ever goes higher than half way up the tree. Looks quite comical but I always smile, congratulate her and wait till later to fix. She also likes to say 'I no like short' in a family of tall people it must be annoying.
ReplyDeleteAh Darnell what gorgeous cards (again, I sound like a repeating decimal, but it's true). Love that up-cycled one, and the ribbon is to die for (well, not literally, but you know what I mean).
ReplyDeleteWhat handsome grandsons - I know what you mean about shrinking each year - I think I must have that disorder too :-(.
Blessings
Maxine
Wonderful cards! I love your pinecone theme, and posting them all together is wonderful since they are all different too! Your tree looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your GD GD (garsh darn guest designer) spot! Bravo! I love all of your cone cards and I love the variety you came up with. You be da bomb!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful collection of cards, Darnell, and super cute picture of the kids.
ReplyDeleteHugs diane
I love the pine cones and hurrah for your win! I'm also impressed you have your tree up. It won't happen in this household for at least another week it'd be longer if the kiddies didn't keep mentioning it - Bah Humbug ;) I particularly like the bling from the pearls/droplets on your silver card. That is super sparkly. Have a good one - I am so behind on Christmas cards it's scary!! Xx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous collection of pine cone cards Darnell and what handsome grandsons you have
ReplyDeleteAnne
Wow, you really display what different cards you can make with the same image! Love the first (great DP) but the others look good too! Congrats on being GDT at HLS! Well deserved with that beautiful card!
ReplyDeleteFun to read about the twins; looks like they grow a lot this year!
Have a good week and hugs, Gerrina
Oh these are all so gorgeous Darnell, but the copper one *really* grabbed me! LOVE it.
ReplyDeleteAnd the twins really are shooting up, aren't they? My son's just turned 13, and he's doing the same. Seems like I'm buying him new jeans every week because his ankles are on show again! x
A plethera of amazing cards, Darnell. I have to say that I love the card with that gorgeous texture! Your card for HLS is awesome. That background paper looks like it is sparkling right off the screen. Thanks for joining us a Guest Designer at Happy Little Stampers this month xx

ReplyDeleteWhat fabulous creations Darnell! No wonder you won the HLS challenge and congrats on the well deserved GD spot . . . that ribbon is to die for and I love all the sparkle of these beautiful cards! Sounds like you had fun with the children . . . and what handsome boys they are, I'm sure they will break a few hearts when they get older! Have a lovely day! Hazel xx
ReplyDeleteMy Card Attic
Hi Darnell, congrats on winning the challenge and the GDT spot. Beautiful pine cone designs, I especially like the bronze one. Your grandsons are growing up and they've decorated your tree beautifully. Take good care, hugs, Shirley xx ps.. it's been very busy, I'm behind in everything :) x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards!! Handsome boys!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your GD spot over at HLS and your quartet of cones are beautiful and I love them all. That ribbon on the second is fantastic and I love the one you coloured with the pine branches and all those wonderful layers and the backgrounds on the first and last are just a bit blingy which adds a sumptuous i.e. luxurious look. Glad you enjoyed your Thanksgiving and did a lot of the work to leave you free to enjoy it even more! Your grandsons did a fabulous job on the tree too. x
ReplyDeleteYou have definitely been having fun with pine cones. I especially love your ribbon card, as it reminded me that I have some delicious ribbon of my own in my Christmas ribbon box. Need to get it out and see what I can do with it. Your young grandsons are fine looking young gentlemen. I'm thinking the girls will be all agog in a few years (if they aren't already!!). Have a great rest of the week.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on being guest designer. Pine cones are your thing and each card is lovely. My first choice is last year's card (the coloring) and the sentiment is one of my favorites. Can I borrow the twins to decorate my house, my boys aren't tall enough yet. Have a good one.
ReplyDeletegorgeous and sparkly fabulous cards. Happy to see a new post...I was beginning to worry...that's to say I checked back every time you commented on my posts. Be well my friend Hugs Carole

ReplyDeleteCongrats on the GD. Fabulous silver cone but have to say the copper cone is just the one for me! Oh and what a gorgeous Xmas tree x
ReplyDeleteAll the cards are magnificent and a great way of showing how one image can be used so many great ways. I really love the one in the golden and copper colors a lot.
ReplyDeleteOoooo, love the schparkly cone for HLS, Darnell! We had our Thanksgiving turkey in Germany this year (we ate our turkey in Turkey for 2 years a while back) and I'm glad to say that I did not stuff myself too much! Yes, leftovers are the best! Thanks for GDing this month at HLS.
ReplyDeleteDear Darnell, your pinecone cards are lovely!!! My favourite is the elegant one you made for Happy Little Stampers! It is truly perfect ;o)Glad you had a lovely Thanksgiving!

ReplyDeleteVal x
Yea for grandsons!! Such joy they add to one's days. Love your pine cone cards. I have a poinsettia ribbon much like you pine cone one, that comes out each December as well.
ReplyDeleteLu C
Wow Darnell, this fourfer post is a real festive treat. All your cards are gorgeous especially the sliver embossed one, but my absolute favorite is the 'last year never posted card'. I just love everything about it, from the bright green pine needles to the beautifully coloured pine cone and perfect sentiment I need to get myself a pine cone stamp asap lol. Lovely pic of Adam and Henry too. Glad you were spoilt over Thanksgiving by your family, that's what it's all about. Hugs Lottie x

Wonderful job on these cards, Darnell. I especially like the first one. The picture of your grandsons is a treasure! You are creating some incredible memories.
ReplyDeleteOh, Darnell, those boys are going to be heartbreakers! Such cutie-pies they are! Great tree decorating they did too! Your cards are all so different and all so beautiful. My favourites are the first and the last - I like the simplicity!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely quad of cards. Your cones are wonderful showcased in your designs. I love that ribbon card, it is just fabulously metallic and delicate. GOR JUSS!
ReplyDeleteSo many fabulous holiday cards and it is so much fun to be on the same team as you! I love your beautiful Christmas tree and how fun to have your tree custom decorated by these two handsome young men!
ReplyDeleteWell...gotta say that the twinks steal the show in this post! They are sooooo stinkin' cute! Before you know it they will be putting the star at the very top of the tree!
ReplyDeleteAmazing cards! The acorn with the greenery knocked my socks off (good thing I wasn't wearing panty hose cuz that would have been trouble!). Seriously, at first glance I thought it was a piece of printed DP. Yep - that good pal!!!
Stunning creation for your HLS gig! Clean simple and nice sparkle. Great photo - dang near looks like the card has wee lights on it! Looks like the acorn ribbon and stamp came as a set - good match!
Fabulous foursome of cards, Darnell, especially the one with the luscious ribbon :). Those boys are shooting up, and what a treat for you to have them for a multi-night sleepover :)
ReplyDeleteHello Darnell!

ReplyDeleteWow, you are rockin' the pine cones!! Great cards!
ReplyDeleteI have got to get myself a nice pine cone stamp because seeing your gorgeous cards makes me feel so inspired! The twins look so proud of the decorated tree and I'm sure that you had a ball listening to them discuss the location of each ornament as they worked!
ReplyDeleteI'm sooo behind, Darnell ... here now though to enjoy these simply splendid pine cone cards! Congratulations on your GD spot at HLS ... the silver cone is so shimmery ... and fabulous with that groovy, slightly blinged DP! Ah yes, your kissable ribbon ... so rich and luxurious with the copper embossing ... and the sentiment on last year's delight ... so true ... and my favourite festive film ... double win! Way to go upcycling ... all these delicious elements were just made for each other! Goodness, those handsome twins have shot up ... they did a brilliant job with the tree ... and what fun building a mine with them ... yay Bama! Miss you heaps, my friend ... hugs & bisous, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteOh my, but those twins are handsome young lads! Remember: I have cute, blonde niece who may *need* to meet them in a few years...just sayin' *grin* Your pine cone motif has me all excited, as I am a collector of 'special' pine cones, specifically those I've gathered up on our trips to Bend OR. Each time we visited, I *had* to go on my pine cone scouting mission; at least one had to come from the last day of bike races, in neighbourhood where my husband and I would watch the pro riders sweat it out for the finale. I love my pine cones, ergo I LOVE yours! Sooo beautiful. I'm going over to my pine cone dish, then to my pine cones on display, to give them all a gentle petting!
ReplyDeleteHugs~c
I'm back...and yes, my pine cone collection is a true story and yes, I am a weirdo!
ReplyDeleteMore hugs~c
Those boys are too cute!
