How's that for a profound sediment?! It's NBUS, of course, and made by Rubber Dance Stamps. The PP is from GKW. I double-diecut my numbers so there would be a black shadow for depth. I'm not sure if you can see it, but I also added a smick of black border on the left to mimicate the number shading.
And my Twofer is:
This fun puzzle pieces die is from Spellbinders and I've only used it once before two years ago. The pumpkin stamp belonged to my late neighbor, Rae. It is from an OOB company called "Hook's Lines & Inkers." On the side it is dated 1993, which, Frank Lee, doesn't seem that long ago to me. I spose some of you weren't even born yet, eh? Cough.

Hi Darnell, Loving the cards. The puzzle one is such a good idea.
ReplyDeleteBy heck, there are so many fab cards in the challenge.
Hope you have a lovely day. Sue
Wow, what a great response you have had to NBUS - well done you! I love the numbers card with your clever shadowing and that sentiment is a real hoot. The puzzle one reminds me - I think I may have that die somewhere... still unused.... Off to have a look at some of those fabulous entries. Hugs, Annie xxx
ReplyDeleteTwo super cards. I especially love the sentiment on the first one - so true! LOL! xx
ReplyDeleteMore fab makes .. you know, I THINK I have a jigsaw die somewhere too!
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday to you too
Kathyk
Great cards, Darnell! I snorted when I read the sentiment on the first, haha!
ReplyDeleteGreat cards Darnell !!!!
ReplyDeleteI am trying to play along NBU !
We will see !

Well! I am now officially upset - I thought the older I got, the better I got.... or there was some other proverb that meant something. LOL, the truth hurts don't it? I love the number card and if I have to admit, the sentiment too :) I am wondering if the numbers were subconsciously put together as they are the combination to Hammy's secret stash? Don't let Freckles catch on.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the turn out for your NBUS challenge so far! I am working on more so thank goodness I can enter more than once! Have a great day, my friend.
xx
Love these super clever takes on that sketch! Especially love the shadows to the numbers. Happy NBUSing.
ReplyDeleteFabby snippets card Darnell - and I do love your numbers card loads as well! I've got a jigsaw die somewhere as well - but probably not enough time to use it. Busy in here isn't it - standing room only! But then your NBUS challenges always are such fun and make us dust off 'bought and immediately neglected' goodies!
ReplyDeleteHugs

Very nice puzzle card especially with the pumpkin in the corner. Then we have your numbers one with that profound sentiment. A sentiment after my own heart. Much like Getting older is better.......than the alternative. Love the shadowed numbers. Was just thinking you could have another type of challenge ..... Only ever used once lol. Beautiful cards
ReplyDeleteWay to profound for me but oh so true it hurts!! Love the jigsaw pieces I have already used mine so that's no goody. Hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeleteNorm says Hi to Hammy. Hugs 🐒
Thanks so much for my morning chuckle Darnell...absolutely LOVE the sentiment on your birthday card!! Cute pumpkin card too! :0)
ReplyDeleteCute cards!!
ReplyDeleteHi Darnell,
ReplyDelete2 super designed cards, and that sentiment on the first is fab.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
Two fabulous cards Darnell and I love the shadowed numbers and the puzzle pieces too and that oh so to the point sentiment..lol. I will be entering the NBUS Challenge shortly I hope. x
ReplyDeleteWow it's getting pretty busy in here... I just wonder how big Mt NBUS would be IRL if we all started to heap our neglected goodies up altogether into a pile... scary!?
ReplyDeleteI do love your super numbers card but I'm not too sure about that sentiment.... a bit scary if you ask me! Have a great week, Andrea aka Amanda! xx
Cute cards! Love the birthday one! Thanks for linking up your project with us at Shopping Our Stash.

Beautiful both your cards, and I must have this puzzle die!! :D
ReplyDeleteYou always rock with CAS!!
I love your age card...what a fun take on the sentiment. Your pumpkin card is so clever. I love the pieces of the pumpkin leading to the finished pumpkin!
ReplyDeleteTwo GREAT takes on the sketch pal! Love the 'sediment' and the shadowed numbers (the black REALLY does define the #'s).
ReplyDeleteCool puzzle pieces and a sweet 'vintage' pumpkin...whose expression cracked me up!
Wow - NBUS #7 is off to a roaring start! So nice to see that the naysayers are definitely the exception!
Whoo Hooo home just in time to play with the nbus challenge! Your puzzle card is such fun, love that textured background. I am catching up after having been on the road. So from a whirl wind trip through your postings, I have to say the texture behind the apeture of your happy card looked great...something I might just have to case...and those pandas are adorable.
ReplyDeleteLove how the numbers look whit then doubled! And the sentiment is a super one!
ReplyDeleteYour twoofer looks so warm with the pieces in those colours... Two different beauties!
Both of your cards are so gorgeous!! I love the designs!! The sentiment on the first one makes me laugh!! The puzzle pieces on the second are fabulous!! Have a great day!! Big hugs :)

Super cards, Darnell! Wish I didn't have so darn much company right now so I'd have some time to play and participate.
ReplyDeleteWow, just look at all your entries already...very impressive. Though not sure why I'm surprised, you're such a star with a HUGE following. I'm sitting here giggling because, just before I read this post, I was working on my CAS(E) This Sketch entry...great minds, wouldn't you say. However, I do believe you've outcased me...both these cards are terrific. Love the drop shadow on the first and those amazingly colored puzzle pieces on the second. I think I smell a winner...
ReplyDeleteWonderful makes. 1993 is just like, last week surely! Cara x
ReplyDeleteOh, I love the sentiment on the first card -- it's so true! LOL! Fabulous takes on the sketch!
ReplyDeleteGreat used of those ol' NBUS stamps, Darnell! Loving all the fun cards being posted...we crafters sure know how to hoard our shtuff, don't we?
ReplyDeleteHello Darnell: both this cards are amazing, your entry to our challenge is fantastic and the one with the actual puzzle is super cute, I must see about that die, it would be great to make kids cards.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your cards with us at SHOPPING OUR STASH, hope you come back and join us again soon.
Hugs,
Maria Rodriguez, DT.
Two very fabulous cards, my friend! Since I LOVE a bit of snark on my cards, I adore your birthday card! That sentiment is perfection! LOL! The puzzle die cuts look like such fun! Thanks for joining us this week at Shopping Our Stash!
ReplyDeleteI totally love the first card, a brilliant idea and a really fun sentiment.
ReplyDeleteReally great second card too.
Not joined in the NUBU challenge yet as things are a bit hectic here but I really want to but incase I do not get to join I really want you to know it is not because there are no prizes because the challenges I do join, when I can, I always say playing for fun.

Your cards are both so awesome. I am so busy with garden and then resting in between I doubt I will get back to card making for quite some time. I am tired of garden stuff. LOL But thankful for it as well.
ReplyDeleteTwo fun ones! I really smiled at #1, and your shadow effect looks great. Love that sentiment too. The puzzle pieces made such a nice effect (much like a modern painting!) with the striation of the colors. Clever way to use this die. And OMGosh, so many NBUS cards entered. Hoping I can play along, but will have to see. Heaven knows I have plenty of NBUS. Hope you've rested up from your whirlwind travels, and things are back to whatever is normal for you, Mr & Hammy. Big Hugs, TFS & thanks for the good wishes too.
ReplyDeleteBoth of these are so awesome! Love the sentiment on the first one. :D
ReplyDeleteOkay, the sentiment on the first card is a hoot!! And your puzzle card is very clever!
ReplyDeleteCool NBUS showcased, my friend, in most fabulous fashion! Smiling over the 'profound' sentiment on your first and yes, the black sure has an impressive impact! Your puzzle pieces and pumpkin (that face!): just plain ol' clever! Your gallery is filling up exponentially...a whole lot of NBUS floating around (she says, as she gazes at her own hill...er, mountain...).
ReplyDeleteHugs~c
OMG, I LOVE that card with the numbers and hilarious sentiment! I can't stop chuckling over that one! Knee-slapper!!!! LOL
ReplyDeleteWondermus shtuff! Love both cards, the first for being "cheeky" and the second, well, that puzzle piece is awesome enough, but that li'l punkin is just a cutie!
ReplyDeleteCool cards, Darnell! Thank you for using my oh, so very profound birthday stamp on card #1 (LOL) and for entering it to our August challenge at Rubber Dance ♥ Nice to see you again! I hope you'll join us next month as well when we celebrate our challenge's 2nd anniversary :)
ReplyDeleteGosh, loads of entries already, and I haven't even taken the wrapper of my stamps yet! I love the 'older' sediment, perfect for so many cards now! You've out puzzle pieces in my mind too, I rather suspect that if I rummage, I have those in NBUS form as well!! Gawd.
ReplyDeleteHello, Darnell,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for creating this challenge! I'm new to stamping and have just started building my stash, so everything is new and unused for me) This is such a great idea to give a chance to unused items!
Best regards,
Regina
Gorgeous cards, Darnell.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Em xxx
Great twofer, Darnell! I started in the early 90's buying stamps so I have many from now defunked companies. I have been finding many of those exact dinos as we rip apart my stamps room for overhauling. Glad it is being done but I am pretty sure I will miss NBUS this time. Totally enjoying peeking in here, though.
ReplyDeleteYour cards are so cute! Love all the puzzle pieces. And, YES, not only was I born in 1993, but my kids were alive, too!
ReplyDeleteYou're back in full swing Darnell! Love your birthday card! What a fun sentiment that totally has me laughing! I need to join in the fun!
ReplyDeleteGreat and funny cards. I have to laugh about the sentiment on the first one. :-) And I have to hurry if I want to catch NBUS#7. :-))
ReplyDeleteHugs, Sonja
Dear darling delicious Darnell. Love the yellow, numbers and the words of wisdom. Regarding words...... Have no idea where slangdingo came from since there ain't a dingo to be seen. It doesn't even rhyme!! My blog post title are usually pertinent to a happening of the moment but this one leaves me stumped. Thanks for your visit, which is always a delight, and thanks for joining the Rubber Dance challenge. Hugz
ReplyDeletewoooooo! The second post for NBUS strikes! I absotively love the sentiment on that first card - I may need to pop that baby into a shopping cart. And your second card is so harvesty with that smiley pumpkin. I know how cathartic/inspiring it can be to use a stamp that comes from someone special.
ReplyDeleteI really love the first card, Darnell--so cute & clever! I remember that stamp company--might even have one of their stamps hidden away somewhere--fun card!
ReplyDeleteTwo fab cards, Darnell! I love that sentiment on the first one, and the black drop-shadow on the numbers is so effective. I've been sitting here working out which puzzle piece fits where on your second card, and yes, I have a NBUS puzzle die - might have to dig it out in honour of your challenge :)
ReplyDeleteTwo great cards! Love the numbers with the shadow effect, it's always so striking to do that and something I often forget about (*sigh*). And that puzzle die is really good fun - I can see that being really versatile, especially good for those pesky men! Hugs, Lisa xx
ReplyDeleteBoth these are fabulous! Love the shadow on the numbers. xxx
ReplyDeleteHahaha, Darnell ... that sentiment doesn't pull any punches does it?? So fun ... and so true ... although age is just a number ... not a reality!! Cool puzzle pieces paired with that fun pumpkin ... bet your late neighbour is looking down, wishing she could play along with NBUS 7! LYAMYEACWTSY! Hugs & bisous, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteOh now then, I'd been borned by 1993 and grad-yew-ated high school by then too. Sad but true, the older you get the older you are and the older you feel. You hear that creaking sound? That's just me!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your numbers card... So very cleverly done...
ReplyDeleteAnd the jigsaw with pumpkin stamp? Inspiring :)
2 clever cards Darnell, love the numbers one and that sentiment lol! Cathy x
ReplyDeleteHi Darnell
ReplyDeleteLove both cards but the sediment (as you would say) on the first is hilarious. The shadowing really makes the numbers pop.
Have a great weekend.
