Hello Stamplings!
Happy Friday! We've whooshed our way quickly through another week! I decided this week that I'm not going to have my hair done at the salon any more. With the way time is flying, my hair just ends up being blown straight up in the air and out from my face anyway, so I'll save the expense. I always wondered why great-grandmas wore scarves and now I know!
First up
I wanted to play in the CAS Christmas May Challenge which calls for a snowman so I made this cute scenic card. This is quite a busy card for me but you-know-who had to add a critter! The snowman is NBUS from Marianne Designs and the little doggie and Christmas tree are NBUS from Penny Black. The sediment is from GKW. The snowflakes were cut from an MFT die out of glitter paper; if you look close, I think you can make out the schparkle.
First up
Two more butterfly Twofers
I made these cards for a reminder post over on the TWOFER challenge blog. For these conventional card designs, I used a smaller butterfly stamp and die from the same Clearly Besotted set I used on the original post. They were also die cut from the same Brusho panel.
Here the butterfly goes beautifully with a Penny Black Stickeroo. A simple matting and a sweet sediment from Mama Elephant and another QACAS card for the stasheroo. BTW, you'll be seeing a lot more Stickeroo cards in the coming weeks. I ran across my Stickeroo stash a couple of months ago and decided this time I really needed to turn them ALL into cards. (Until I buy more!) In the end I had enough to make 60 cards! If you're a card pen pal, you will no doubt find one in your happy mailbox at some point soon. They really are stunning little works of art and they make easy beautiful cards. I'm linking to Penny Black and More May: Anything Goes.
~~~
Here my twofer butterfly has landed on a jungle-inspired pp panel by Bo Bunny. The leaf fronds are NBUS from Concord & 9th. I made a border on the left side to balance the design. The sediment is from Penny Black (I think). This card is being linked to the Butterfly Challenge. Congratulations on 100 challenges, Mrs. A., and cheers to many more! I only have a widdly bit of hunter green and harvest gold (on butterfly wing), but I DO have a butterfly, so I am playing along!
Both of the above cards are being donated to Layton's Legacy Card Drive which is a drive initiated by Lea Lawson in honor of her son Layton to provide Starbucks gift cards to Minnesota parents who spending long hours in NICUs with their newborns. You can read Lea's moving story here.
ReplyDeleteI love your gorgeous snowman Darnell and also the two wonderful butterfly cards.
ReplyDeleteSue xx
Fab cards Darnell - I wish I didn't have to go to the hairdressing salon either - but I would end up scaring the neighbours!
ReplyDeleteI have to tell you, that I also don't like to waste the time by making my hair in the salon. I can do something much more useful instead. But sometimes it is necessary. :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm admiring all your cards. Wonderful snowman scene and butterflies all around. It is a great gesture from you to donate the cards.. I'm thinking about Twofer Challenge. After children are back to States, I have again a lot of free time for my papers.
Have a nice day,
Sonja
Sweet cards, Darnell.
Darling snowman Darnell, and those colorful snowflakes are sweet. Your butterfly cards are lovely and will bring comfort I am sure.
ReplyDeleteHey the passage of time and having a daughter learning to drive took the color right out of my hair! LOL Your cards are so lovely, Darnell. Love the little butterflies. The sweet scen on the snow card makes me smile, too. Well done!! Hope you have a great day! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteCute cards Darnell!! I love the butterfly one with all of the green in it!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Marilyn❤
I just love the little doggie added to the snowman card, and the butterfly twofers are both lovely! What a great cause to be sending them too also - when you read about other folks struggling, it makes our woes seem much smaller. WTG!
ReplyDeleteI like your sweet snowy scene with the colorful snowflakes! Your butterfly cards are perfectly lovely!
ReplyDeleteThe Christmas card is cute as can be. The butterfly cards are beautiful. That is a cute butterfly and I love that lime green color. I'm glad you are having a fantastic time. Must be time for the last leg and I know that will be as much fun too. Say hello for me.
ReplyDeleteHi Darnell your snowman card is gorgeous, I love your design and the cute images, and the butterfly cards are really beautiful, wonderful colours and designs, Kate x
ReplyDeleteFABULOUS cards Darnell!! Your snowman and little pup are just adorable...LOVE the expressions on their faces...pure JOY!! And your butterfly cards are SOOO pretty (my post is set up for tomorrow...took me so long because I have more butterfly stamps and dies than I realized and was hard to decide on just one!). I have that Clearly Besotted set too (of course I do!) and I just love the whimsical imagery of those butterflies! Both cards are absolutely LOVELY!! Hope you have a wonderful weekend, and yes, definitely let the hair just fly! :0)
ReplyDeleteSnowmen and butterflies! what could be better? : ) I think your snowmen are so cute they need a hug but I'm so glad they'll have to wait for it until winter because the butterflies are gracefully dancing on over freshly bloomed flowers. Ahhhh! I love this time of year!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
The snowman card is simply adorable...always loved that little pup...and, yes, I see the twinkle on your flakes. Think the addition of the dog was an excellent idea...he adds so much to the scene.
ReplyDeleteI believe, I too, have a stash of those lovely Penny Black stickers. Mine, unfortunately are all Christmas themed. Despite that, I really should use them soon. The butterfly in the jungle seems appropriate, somehow. All I know is, I like it.
Hope you have a lot of scarves to cover your hair...at least one for each season.
Such super-cute Christmas CAS!! Love those fun and happy faces and the sparkling look!!!
ReplyDeleteThe Twofer inspirations are so lovely too, that tiny butterfly looks so sweet on both!
They are all so beautiful, Darnell!! The snowman card is so sweet!! I love the image and the pretty snowflakes!! The two butterfly cards are so gorgeous!! I love the colors and designs!! Have a great weekend!! Big hugs :)
A Mermaid's Crafts
Hi Darnell, Fab cards. I especially like the green one.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a nice weekend. Sue
What a wonderful post full of inspiration! Cutest snowman card and not busy to my eyes. Love how you combined your NBUS and added the colorful, sparkly snowflakes. Fun! Gorgeous Twofer using the same butterfly, but with very different looks. Love them both. PB has the best stickers. They look just like stamps, especially with the way you crafted the card. Are you really saying you made SIXTY Stickeroo cards? Holy cow! 'Fraid I'm not going to manage the Twofer Challenge this month unfortunately. I'm currently dedicated to finishing up the last of some rather busy anniversary cards. You want to talk busy? Sheesh!
ReplyDeleteYour cards are all so amazingly well created and fantastic. And, your coloring on them is just amazing. You are certainly an inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI don't know which is cuter, the snowman or the critter. Both are adorable and look like they are good friends! Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Christmas!
ReplyDeleteBoth of your Twofer butterfly cards are gorgeous! I love those daisies and the stickeroos sound like they're divine. The patterned paper makes a perfect background for the second butterfly and pretty leaves.
A whole set of amazing cards, and the most I love winter with a snowman. So beautifully done !!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
BozenA
Great job on the snowman challenge. Cute card. The twofer cards are awesome. I love the daisies and butterfly, so colorful and somewhat whimsical. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteDarnell these cards fabulous! That snowman is just darling, such a sweet expression on his face :-) Both of The Butterfly cards are simply beautiful ~ I couldn't pick a favorite one!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny to sit here commenting on your card when you're sitting across the room from me!! Love the fact that we're getting to meet you in person! And I adore your card - not just because it has a PB spaniel on it, but also because it has such a cute snowmand and those beautiful coloured snowflakes. Thanks so much for joining us at CAS Christmas.
ReplyDeleteAlso love your new butterfly twofer!! Beautiful blue and mauve flowers in the first one, and lovely natural elements in the second.
That's a tremendous trio of cards (I do love a little alliteration!) Your colorful snowflakes add some extra playfulness to your snowman card. I'm so glad you reminded us of the twofer challenge. I need to get on that! Your cards are inspirational, especially considering where they're going and how they'll be used. So kind of you!
ReplyDeleteStunning cards, I love the sweet little touch of the leaves lifted slightly-my eyes went straight to this x
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful cards, Darnell! The colourful snowflakes made me smile and I almost felt inspired to create a winter card as well - but I am obviously too happy that spring found us to actually put action to that thought ;o)
ReplyDeleteInstead I stayed and admired your Twofers. I love the idea to create to different styles of cards with one image - one gets so much more life out of what one has ;o)
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful creations and have a fantastic weekend! Happy crafting, Maike
Three beautiful cards Darnell, and first up that fun snowman and friend with the lovely winter scene and glittery snowflakes, and then the twofers are both so pretty with the delightful Stickeroos accompanying that sweet green butterfly, and then the more tropical background with the zesty leaves and butterfly. x
ReplyDeleteMy word, you have been a busy bee...These are fantastic xx
ReplyDeleteYou really do make the most beautiful cards my friend, these are all beautiful. The little Cardinal on top of the tree looks so cute, as does the snowman. I love the way you cut the beautiful flowers from Brusho card too, I really must try that since I am hopeless with Brushos generally! Something new to try! Thanks so much for the inspiration! Hugs, Annie xxx
ReplyDeleteVery nice cards.
ReplyDeletehugs
Your snowman card is so cute and I love how you played with your 'Brusho' butterflies! You always do such an amazing job inspiring us to play along, Darnell...Thank you!
ReplyDeleteLove all three Darnell! I’m still trying to find time to join in your twofer Challenge. Sadly I’ve failed so far! xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a combination...:) I go for the butterflies and both cards are beautiful with there a bit hand-drawn feel about them! Hugs, Gerrina
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful cards Darnell...The snowman card is so cute and I adore the colours. Two totally different butterfly cards and both so beautiful! Pat gave me a pack of Brushos last week! I can't wait to play with them but I'm tied to working with the gardeners ... They are good at the heavy work but everything else needs my advise... Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteAdorable wintry scene, Darnell! And your butterfly Duo is so pretty! Good for you for not only saying that you needed to turn the stickers into cards but actually doing it and ending up with 60! You go, girl!
ReplyDeleteStill busy over here. The senior trip to Ecuador and the Benefit concerts are behind us. Now we are preparing for two graduations with parties... Also working on an elaborate wedding card for my niece...
Gorgeous cards. You know I love butterflies xoxo
ReplyDeleteOh yes I see the sparkle on the glitter snowflakes - such a pretty card - and you know Christmas is just not that far off. The cards you made with the little butterfly and florals are always a classic good for so many occasions.
ReplyDeleteI will be out of commission for a few ???days weeks??? as I am having right shoulder replacement and yes I am right handed but I will still be lurking around on the blogs as you are such an inspiration. Will be back to commenting as soon as I get use of my hand back.
My apologies...when I was here yesterday, I meant to thank you for playing along with us at CAS Christmas! With everything you have going on, it's so nice of you to take the time to create a Christmas card. too! Crafty hugs, Barb (May GD)
LYAMYEMA ... HYSHAFTWTG! Big hugs & bisous, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute snowman! I do need to get on with my Christmas cards. It'll be here before you know it and it's not even July.... haha! Just love that butterfly set. I have it and have onlyused it once - shame on me. Time to get it out again! xxx
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful butterfly cards, Dolly! Love the pretty butterfly with the sweet daisy flowers. Your second butterfly is so artsy with an organic look. Love, Lolly
What a sweet little Christmas card - still havent started on mine 😂😂! And the butterfly cards are beautiful Darnell. You know I think I may have some of those Stickeroos somewhere in my stash, or maybe I ditched them I’m not sure but I shall investigate! Lisa xx
ReplyDeleteAdorable scene & love how you used the Stickeroo, Darnell!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute little snow scene, Darnell. I don't know about Stickeroos but they sure do make wonderful cards. I love both of the butterfly cards.
ReplyDeleteYou created such a fun and cute scene, combining a few stamps so well, Darnell! The colorful glittery snowflakes make the card look cheerful and pretty. Love the shades you made and how you did the snow ground!
ReplyDeleteThe butterfly cards look so different and both are beautiful - love the blue/green/purple color combo (1/2) and the organic look (2/2)!
Thanks for joining us at CAS Christmas! Hideko xx
What a delightful collection of cards!
ReplyDeleteThat snowman card is adorable and I love all the glittery snowflakes in candy-dot colors! As for that pup, every card benefits from the addition of a cute critter.
ReplyDeleteI'm embarrassed to admit that I'll have to google Penny Black Stickeroos, because I'm not quite sure what they are. I'm thinking they're a fancy name for a sticker, but I guess I'll find out!
Lovely collection of cards.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing at Penny Black & More and good luck x Susan x
Whether green or rather blue, I love them both! Fabulous cards Darnell!!
