How are you? I hope you had a lovely Mother's Day if you celebrated yesterday! I am so blessed with my little family, but I know it can be a hard day for some, so I am sending you a big hug if it was sad for you.
We're having lots of blue skies and sunshine, so today I have a bright and bold creation for you, backed by my pretty Azalea bushes.

Using a small piece of acetate, I "painted" my watercolor panel by dabbing spritzed color from my craft mat onto the acetate and then dabbing it onto the watercolor paper in a rainbow design until I was happy with it. The "you" die from Winnie & Walter is popped up and backed by black fun foam. The "are" and "awesome" and the scalloped border die are all from Your Next Stamp.

Henry's sculpture was chosen to be showcased in the city art gallery! I'm sorry the gallery lighting made getting a good photo nearly impossible, but you can see that proud smile and rightly so!
Twofer
I told you in my Twofer Card Challenge post the other day that I would show you what my sweet "fairy" girl looks like on the actual wooden stamp from Penny Black! She is packed up, travel guide in hand, and raring to go!

Both cards are fabulous. Love how bright and colorful. Terrific sentiment. The second card is so fun! Great image and funny sentiment. But boy oh boy, that sculpture your grandson made is fantastic! Wow! He should be so very proud. How long did it take him to find the right pieces? How does it stay together? Amazing work. Thanks so much for sharing. Happy day after Mother's Day! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThe rainbow card is so fun and colorful. I am so impressed with the driftwood dinosaur Henry made. I believe he has inherited your creative art gene because this looks so authentic. And to be displayed in an art gallery is the best endorsement he could get. Great job, Henry. That last card has the right sentiment. Don't put off what you've been meaning to do. Life has a way of changing things no matter what your plans are.
ReplyDeleteI adore your rainbow background Darnell and the pretty scalloped shape with a great sentiment and love those multi coloured enamel dots, and great to see your fairy minus her wings and with her suitcase packed ready for a big adventure, beautifully coloured too. Henry's driftwood sculpture is fantastic and how exciting to have it on public display, and you must all be very proud. Hope you had a good Mother's Day. x
