I won't keep you cuz you know I have tons to do. I mean, I know you have tons to do.

Another uber festive card. This full-front text image is an old wooden stamp from Stampendous. I inked it in black and embossed it in clear ep, which you can just make out in the shine here and there. I found a NBUS roll of pretty SU ribbon to tie around the card front. Tip: This is a cheater's bow you tie after you've tried twelveteen times to tie a bow. It's less bulky to mail, too.👏

Poor boy :-( Give him a big hug from me please.... and next time use a waterproof medium for colouring (says she who speaks from the same experience.)

ReplyDeleteRemember the old "black and white and red all over" jokes? Not that your cards are jokes, mind you. No. They're pretty cool if you ask me, the whole joke thing was a memory triggered by your color scheme. As kids we would always try to outdo each other with our punch lines. Your cards are really CASimply lovely. Beautiful Christmas cards, in fact! Love that you didn't color the leaves on your blossom. I was drawn right in to it and then had a gander around your whole card. Love it! Sweet package-like card, too. That red ribbon was a perfect choice. It's just sweet. Sending hugs dear friend. xo Bev
ReplyDeleteQACAS loveliness, Darnell ... that Hammy-winked bloom is so vibrant, rich and shimmery against all the glorious white ... and the touchable text with the bright tied ribbon is delicious (has me wanting to run my fingers over the screen!). Good to find Hammy is safely home from his trip ... guess he's helping out with the leftovers! Delighted, as always, to have you playing along with us at Time Out! Oh, I know! I have to make some QACAS cards, too. My version of QACAS takes maybe a couple of hours as opposed to all afternoon. I love both stamps. Gosh, so nice to have that text stamp that makes the whole card. I can see the embossing quite clearly and it's very effective as the only special touch you need, but then you went and added the pretty ribbon. I tied a bow yesterday and it probably took as long as making the whole rest of the card, sheesh. Really love the cup and saucer with flower. What a cool and unusual stamp! I can see why you had to have it and it only took you a few months (ahem) to get around to it. Hey, that's not long, considering it can sometimes take years.

ReplyDeleteSuch a crisp and beautiful first card and what a wonderful stamped image. Yep I've done what Hammy did too and the colours just blended.....however in your case it looks beautiful x.

ReplyDeleteOooh, I love the black, white and red color combo (one of my favorites) and that one with the ribbon tied around it is perfection! Great way to use up all that ribbon in our stash too. I may have to dig around and see if I can make a similar design with stamps that I have.

Two wonderful QACAS cards Darnell, I really struggle withe OLC I always ave an oppsy at some point or it buckles and bends when I heat emboss.

ReplyDeleteI love quick and simple and both of these are lovely q&s. I don't think Hammy realized what would happen to the shading when he winked, but it is still beautiful. I love the black and white card. That is a very fun stamp and never goes out of style. The pop of red ribbon looks great. The ribbon looks to be in pretty good shape after being tied twelveteen times!
