Vestige of Fall

Hello Stamplings!

Everyone's exclaiming about the fact that it's November even though we know full well it follows October which follows September and the rest of the months, which are all stacked up like dominoes slamming into each other likity-split. As if unexpectedly. I do it, too, proclaiming, "Well, would you look at that!"

The mad dash for Christmas starts in full force, but here in American we have a well-loved Thanksgiving tradition smack in the middle of the mayhem, which makes fall last a few more weeks. So I'm here with a coupla more fall cards and then it will prolly be all Christmas all the time.

Onefer.
When I was in Wisconsin, I was fortunate to stop in at the Gina K. store with my buddies. The leaf you see as the kindness place-card holder is from Gina's Stitched Leaves set which I Ziggified. I borrowed the background stencil from Brenda in Indiana and had a go at it with my Clarity brushes. The sediment is from GKW.

Twofer.
The background on this card is a leafy stencil monoprint I made last May with Lindy's Magicals. The leaves are dies from the same Gina K. "Stitched Leaves" set and the pierced fish-tail banner is from Avery Elle.

Here is a closeup, but I'm not sure if it really shows the beautiful shimmer of the card IRL. Hammy is sulking because these powdered inks are, well, magical in how much they schparkle so no winking is necessary. No, don't even look at him. He'll be fine by tomorrow.

Finally, real quick, here is a watercolored card for my lake house friends with a friendship tree from Hero Arts and a sweet cabin from a NBUS Newton's Nook set.

  9. Happy sigh at your very pretty fall cards. I know everyone is talking about and posting about Christmas, but I so enjoy the fall cards, I wish people could focus just a tad more about Thanksgiving first. I hope Hammy gets over his little sulk quickly. The magicals look truly magical. Hugs!

  23. Those leaves are serving you well. I'll remember them while I'm raking the 3 billion ones in my yard...and that's the second time I've done it. Oh well, the price we pay for vegetation and landscaping. Seriously though, sweet cards this time. Especially fond of the Lake House "hello" card.

  39. Gorgeous cards, all three! Looks like you had some inky fun with fall colors. I am desperately trying to get my Thanksgiving cards finished so I can dive into the Christmas cards (I've only gotten 20 done during the previous months). And then there's all that shopping to do for kids (6) and grands (10). Oy! What am I doing, sitting here at the computer????

  40. All three cards are gorgeous but the leaf on the first one is absolutely stunning! Your colouring of the leaf is incredible, I love it and the stencilling creates such a wonderful backdrop. I have so far resisted those Clarity brushes.... I hope Hammy has forgiven you for not 'winking'.... Big hugs to you both, Annie xxx

May thanksgiving be everything you could hope for.

Spoiling us with your three wonderful cards, thank you and sorry Hammy didn't get to use the wink of Stella X

  43. Your leaf is beautiful and looks great on your stenciled background. (I got my brushes)! I wouldn't use Lindy's too much in case you traumatize Hammy over them but the card is lovely. What a perfect card for the lake house ladies. Awesome.

  44. Darnell, they are all absolutely beautiful xoxo

  45. Isn't it a shame that Thanksgiving gets smooshed so tightly between Halloween and Christmas that it's almost nonexistent! I love Thanksgiving and your cards! The Gina K. leaves are so pretty in the warm and cool colors and that word tree is fantastic!

  46. Three very beautiful cards Darnell, beautifully designed and coloured, I love the leaves and the sentiment on the last card is such fun.

I have never used Lindy's stuff and now want to try it. (and I bought two to experiment with and it is sitting on my desk at the moment-how sad is that?) Your third card is a beautiful CAS design. Thank you for the inspiration!
