Jeremy heard the key in the front door and thought, “Oh, feathers, I’m in trouble now!”

As his mistress rounded the
corner of the kitchen island and looked down at him, Jeremy could see the look of
disappointment on her face.
For Jeremy this was worse than anything.
He could feel his own eyes begin to well up with tears as he silently
telegraphed how sorry he was that he had messed up.
His owner stood there for several
long minutes just staring at Jeremy and then suddenly the look of
disappointment gave way to amusement and soon she was doubled over in laughter.
Turning on the hot water faucet, she
said, “You know, I should just leave you stuck there overnight and maybe you
won’t be so curious next time!”
Jeremy sniffed. His butt and tail
were already numb. One thing he knew for sure, he’d never go near a bottle of
maple syrup again!”

Oh poor Jeremy, caught out and only doing his own thing of being curious. Your little story, just so suits the expression on his face. Great story and illustration, have a lovely weekend Darnell, Kate x x
Fantastic Darnell, I love the image but your story that goes with it is fantastic.
Sue xx
Thanks for reminding me that I'm almost out of maple syrup and need to add it to my shopping list! LOL
Fab make and such a delightful story about poor Jeremy!
Happy Saturday matey

OMG!! Love your little story. Adorable picture of Jeremy also
Have a great day!
Marilyn❤
Cornelia has so many cute and amusing images and it is coloured beautifully, and love the look of the water level rising behind his eyes, and the 'mess' looks as though it could have been far more disgusting than maple syrup...lol, but such fun and you tell a great story Darnell. x
Oh dear a sticky end well and truly!! 😂🤣😁
Well done ladies!

So sweet and funny! Jo x
Cats are so curious and Jeremy sure fits the bill. A great story and that look on his face says it all. Panic mode when mom comes home. Wonderful image, Cornelia and such a fun story to go with it.
You should write children's books. These stories are so cute!
So cute..... I agree with Sharyn children's short story book.
"scuse me while I first wipe the coffee off the screen...Fun story. As a former cat owner, I know they get into so much trouble.
Cats and curiosity go hand in hand.:) LOL Sue
Poor Jeremy... life can be so overwhelming. Fantastic card.
You are a delightful storyteller...the ending was glorious.
Curiosity "stuck" the cat this time!! What a great little story xx
Brilliant Darnell love the ending

Tell me another quickly do!! Love Jeremy . Hugs Mrs A.
He’s the cutest. Look at that face, my heart is melting!
You have rocks in your head if you and Cornelia don't compile these stories into a book.
Super cute image of Jeremy and an adorable image. So sorry he was so sad about being a disappointment x
Yes where did May go?? x
This story cracked me up!! LOVE the image!!
Oh my goodness, brilliant tale and a really great image.

Omg Darnell! You’re a hoot 😹 The story is a perfect fit for the wonderfully colored image! My Girls once turned the stove top on and set fire to a towel not nearly as funny as your story. Hugs
Poor Jeremy...sometimes new lessons learned are so sticky, gooey and messy!! What a unforgettable photo (card) you snapped of Jeremy! Hugs...my 2 talented girl friends.
what a way to learn a lesson :) love the card with that sticky syrupy mess and great story.
Is Jeremy related to Hammy by any chance? Poor 'ittle thing. A sticky bum wouldn't be much fun. :-(
I forgive you, Jeremy! You're so sweet, who wouldn't?!
I was feeling so sorry for Jeremy. Look how sad his welled-up eyes are, poor kitty. Thankfully at the end I was laughing right along with his owner. Cornelia's coloring is so great. Thanks for the story, Darnell. I'm happy now.
Thank you for this piece of humour - you really got my day to a great start, with a smile on my face!
Poor little fella, look at those tears ready to spill over!
Ah, yes...Jeremy's antics remind me of the things my toddlers used to do. I somehow managed to have 4 children with the oldest one not quite 3 1/2 - which meant multiple toddlers at the same time (there was a set of twins in there!). Sugar container dumped out onto the countertop, with two toddlers happily licking fingers, then sticking them back into the sugar. An entire bottle of shampoo poured into the bath water, with three toddlers giggling as they made mountains of foamy bubbles. Three toddlers led by a 5-year-old making mud pies, with more mud on their bodies than in the pies. Ah, the memories your card brings to mind...
Love your stories! They always bring a smile and make my day!! Poor kitty--what a mess he got himself into--wouldn't want a case of maple syrup killing the cat!
Oh Darnell, I can relate to this story but with our doggie, she gets into the most outrageous of messes sometimes.
And she knows that she's messed up, her face looks just like Jeremie's when she looks at us from under the kitchen table.
Love your stories and Cornelia's fabulous coloring, thank you both for sharing.
XO
Maria.
Awww, poor Jeremy, it cannot be much fun with a sticky bottom and tail but that expression on his face really does say it all! Another wonderful story Darnell and Cornelia's drawing is just the perfect accompaniment. You are both so very clever! Big hugs, Annie xxx
Yep! These family members know when they have done something they shouldn't have. Our dog used to hang her head. Jeremy isn't at fault though, who left the top off?
Fabulous card and story.

As always your story is right on with the expression on the cat. I enjoy your blogs so much, you make my day when you post. Thanks much. Pam
OMG! This is so funny, what a great ending. Poor Jeremy though ..... there's nothing worse than a sticky bottom! Have a lovely week my friend. The sun has finally made an appearance here .... maybe we'll get some racing today xx
Fantastic story, fantastic illustration! I like it.
Have a nice week!
Hugs, Sonja
Hilarious!! Great story with a fantastic image, Dolly & Cornelia!! I've heard of a "sweet tooth" before, but this is something else! :) Love, Lolly
So cute! xoxo
Poor little Jeremy, he had my eyes tearing up. I feel so bad for him as he really does look like he is very sorry or maybe it is because his butt and tail were numb from being stuck in the maple syrup. Still, I feel for him. Love the story, love the image and coloring! You two ladies make a great team Auntie! Hugs, Brenda
Great story; it goes perfectly with that image!
Your stories are just amazing! They make my cards shine! Thank you!
Hahahahahahaha ... so fun and funny, Darnell ... who but you would think of maple syrup ... and numb tails and butts!! Brilliant! LYAMYLALMA! Big hugs and bisous, Anita :)
Thanks for a smile you both gave me with this dun and good little story and illustration! Hugs, Gerrina
