The Back Story ~ Debra

When she agreed to be on top as the lookout, Debra didn't realize there would be such a strong breeze that day. She hated having her ears blown back, especially since she had just been to the salon.

Now that she had managed to climb to the top of this pack of imbeciles, Debra realized that she could spin any kind of yarn she wanted to about what was happening on the other side of the fence. How would the other three know what was true?

In that moment, Debra fully understood the meaning of faith.

She had faith that Louie, Bruce, and Herbert would not let her fall and they, in turn, had faith that she would tell the truth about what she saw.

As she stared at the neighbor’s house, suddenly a shadow stepped into the light from the porch.

Fabulous my lovely lady. I love the way you weave a story into your creations at times. Now I wonder, not so much about the shadow, but whether she told them the absolute truth about what she saw over the other side. Or even if we will find out about the shadow and that will become the decider in truth? I have no doubt that faith will win out, if only because the others are so bloomin' nosey that they will definitely not let her down.
Hugs, Neet xx
ps I love the card as much as the story. That pop of pink is fabulous!

Cute card. Love the pink and black. It's nice to know that Debra has morals. Now, we all want to know what they were doing scoping out the house and who the stepped out of the shadow. [Bunny]`

Curious...did the illustration (card) come 1st or the suspenseful story? Loved the card and the story with a tale about being truthful:-) And next...for the rest of the story! TFS all your talents, my friend. Hugs...

Hello,
I love your stories illustrated by Cornelia. My only regret is that these stories are so short and half cut off. Is it so that we can continue the story ourselves, or maybe these stories are longer, but on the blog you put only the abbreviation ...? I want more :-)
hugs,
BozenA

Love this story and card! Question - does the card come first or the story? Bet it could go either way. LOL

I certainly hope you have a sequel to this mystery...I want to know what Debra sees over the fence. Just when are you going to get busy with Cornelia and publish a book of stories? Can't allow your talents to just linger.

Hoo boy, I'm loving the drama of this one and the cliff hanger ending. My brain is all over the place with ideas for this one. I do love that bright pink as a backdrop for the "stacked animals." It adds to the drama of the story.
