Seeing Stars Again!

Hello Stamplings!

Well, that week went by fast!

Dang, I promised myself I wasn't going to say that again in 2020. As horrible as the year has been, we want it to go by fast, and yet we complain about how fast it's whooshing by. What are we, teenagers? 😂

Speaking of whooshing, I'm stopping in quickly today because I am blown up by some allergy and I'm miserable. Although I suffer from seasonal migraines, I don't usually have problems with allergies. The Mister, however, occasionally suffers, so I asked for one of his nonprescription allergy pills. Instead of helping for eight hours, it only helped for about 45 minutes. Dismayed, I asked, "Hon, what's the expiration date on those allergy pills?"

"1998."

Geez. Old people. Ya gotta love us!

~~~
Circling back to the opening line, I can't believe the current Twofer Card Challenge has only one week left for you to play! It's our last challenge of 2020 and the prompt is STARS. This month there is a TWIST and there are fabulous PRIZES to be won, so check it out!
Here are my reminder cards to inspire you:
The stamp both my designs have in common is the MFT Shooting Star. I made two different occasion cards, rather than two holiday cards. The card on the left uses a panel of pp in silver and Char Truce. Each of the tiny stars inside the circles schparkles! The stitched scallop die is also from MFT and the sediment is from GKW. The large shining star is cut from silver fun foam. It is the inset star you get when you cut the shooting star.
(I wish you could see Hammy looking at himself in his mirror, turning this way and that while wearing the outline silver shooting star around his shoulders with it trailing down his back like a cape!)
For the encouragement card, I cut the star from the card front once and from a piece of black card once. I inlaid both pieces back into the card front as shown. Then I used my markers to color the rainbow and I used a little itty-bitty star in my stash to stamp inside the star in matching rainbow inks. That was a bit nerve wracking. I mean racking. Did you know that the correct spelling, according to publishers and purists, does not have the w? You learn something wnew every day.
~~~

I hope you will get a chance to use your ⭐★🌟STARS🌟★⭐ and play along with TCC #33! There's a ton of sensational inspiration on the blog from our talented Guest Designers, Design Team, and awesome gallery!

Enjoy your day! No, seriously, enjoy, but keep safe! LITS!*

Hope you get better soon - and you find out what triggered that allergy so you can avoid it in future. Hope it isn't a hamster allergy....

Sorry to hear about your allergies! I used to suffer from migraines, but it was more due to my blood pressure. Nonetheless, they were no fun! I do hope it improves for you very soon! Your cards with the stars are very fun and bright! Take care and wishing for you and family a blessed Thanksgiving! Hugs!!

Two more fabulous starry creations Darnell and l love the glittery look of the star with the pretty sparkly chartreuse dp, and then the whole shebang with the wonderful trailing tail of the shooting star in that myriad of colours, and the little stars within the star too. x

What a wonderful vibrant rainbow, love it and the way you have cut off the corners, great idea. Wonderful patterned paper on your first card, it goes so well with the star. Thanks too for the spelling lesson, I never knew that xx

Feeling a bit like that turkey myself today. Hope you feel better soon. Best before dates are just there to prove how fast time is moving. 'How can it be 5 years old? I only bought it last week!' bwahahaaaa. Take care. Hugz

So sorry you are having trouble with allergies, Darnell. I hope you feel better soon. As for whooshing. I think the older we get the faster the world turns. We've been in our new location for over 6 weeks now and it seems like we just moved in. But I digress. I came to comment on your wonderful star cards. I hope to work on mine today.

I love your star cards, they are stars in their own right, Love them.

I'm still laughing out loud at your tablet dates - Yep! old people, don't forget we were brought up on no sell by or use by dates, so we are used to taking or eating out of date stuff, never did us any harm! probably no good either. LOL

Then the (w)racking? I wonder if it has anything to do with "the rack" a torture machine in the 1400/1500s that people were stretched on? Just a thought?

Forgot to say, hope you feel better soon, perhaps with (in date) tablets?

I too hope you feel better really soon. I understand as I am allergic to dust and the leaves all around trigger that. Love the starry cards and thanks for the laugh! Hugs

I'm laughing about your out of date tablet story Darnell, I have a husband is just the same, he complained that his spray of Beconase didn't work, well it was ten years out of date, but he was determined to use it up and he doesn't like waste...what??
Anyhoo I hope you feel better soon.
Two gorgeous star cards, fabulous designs and colours. Keep safe, Kate x

So sorry to hear about your allergies! Jim and I can so relate! It seems the older I get the more problems I with allergies!

Like both of your "Star" cards. You are a STAR! in my book!

I have allergy issues too in my more elderly years then when younger. I like your Twofers too.

I was just talking with a neighbor last night about how we have identical allergy complaints! runny noses, sniffles, all kinds of symptoms! I never get headaches but recently had one that prompted me to look for the Excedrin but I checked the date before I took one and it expired in 2002! That confirms I rarely get headaches LOL Anyway, on to the star cards. They're cute and fun and I like those notched corners on the rainbow card! The colors are brilliant and vibrant and all those colorful stars look adorable! Thanks for the English update - I never knew things were nerve racking - I've always dealt with them as nerve-wracking! That extra w looks good and somehow adds a touch of drama to the phrase, eh?

Everyone needs a rainbow...I sure do. I'm sure Hammy had a ball checking himself out in his cape. So nice to see non-Christmas cards, as well. Does that sound jaded? Anyway, both of your cards are fun and pretty.
Hope your allergies are better...with all these leaves falling and intermintent wind, I just carry a tissue box around for my nose. I do feel for you.

Lordy, am so sorry that you’re all allergied. I hope you can identify the culprit and rule it out of your life quickly. As for out of date pills, oh us too, we have to double check al sorts of things, particularly food......argh!
I’m loving the two occasion twofer, and the image of hammy in his cape will never be far from my head when I see this shooting star design now! My stars are on the table, I have intentions...but oh boy, could you slow it all down a little?!!

Hi Darnell,
oh you do make me laugh so and just what I neended too
That is so like us older generation too.
I took off my shower hose to clean it and couldn't get it back on and we are in Lockdown.
I felt so misrable and tearful so thank you for cheering me up.
Son had to break the Lockdown and wear a mask and come and do it for me.
I hate not being able to do things for myself.
I am not good with screwing things now don't giggle I can see you.lol.

Your Twofer designs are brilliant and so colourful as well and I love all the little stars too.
Lots of crafty love and hugs hope your allergies are soon better. Jenny L.

I probably have scripts that expired in that year too!! I hate to throw anything out like that "just in case" but I never think that it won't work!! These cards are amazing. I LOVE the chartreuse and silver color combo-that paper is just WOW!! The second card with the rainbow star is darling. GREAT design for both. I am "hoping" to play this month but my mojo is not being found so we shall see!! Thanks for the inspiration!!

The schparkly silver star is awesome, but that shooting star takes the prize in my book! Love those bright colors and how perfectly you've stamped those little stars inside the big one! Hope you're feeling better today. xoxo

Love your twofer this week - I had to look twice - ok three times to see if it was the same star. It was. I can just see Hammy admiring himself in the mirror with his cape on - frisky little guy. Love your OTC medication story, 1998 - that is a long time - I am sure it was no longer active. Enjoy Thanksgiving - and stay safe.

I hope you get over the reaction allergy soon Darnell x.

Well, heck, it's absolutely nerve racking trying to keep up with correct spellings on things like "nerve wracking", but it matters to me, so thank you. On to your cards: Nerve racking as it was, those little stars within a star look very bright and crisp and I do love color! Pretty sparkle and cool paper on your "lovely day" card. I'm a fan of lime green and chartreuse. Darn those allergies that came out of nowhere! I'm surprised the medicine worked for even 45 minutes! Feel better. Love the funny today.

I have family members who suffer from allergies which make them miserable! So sorry you have to suffer from them, too. Hope things clear up soon. I love the stars, the sparkle and the bright colors on your cafds today. Not sure how you manage to be so creative when you're not feeling well. Sending healing vibes your way.

Oh, I hope your allergies go quickly and that you might have some more up to date medication by now! Get well soon my friend.

Both cards are beautiful, so different but equally wonderful, the rainbow colours on the right side are gorgeous!

Hammy admiring himself just cracks me up.... love it! Hugs, Annie xxx

I just love your cards, Darnell! The rainbow shooting star card has my heart! I finally got a couple ideas, so we'll see if I actually get them to work in time! We just bought a replacement for an OTC med that expired 1998, too! Shows how healthy we've been--haha!

Anita in France said...

First of all, Darnell, I do hope those allergies have passed (not like the expiration date of the pills BTW!) and you're feeling en forme once again. Your cards are star-ily delicious ... yummy pp framing the ever-so-schparkly one ... and what a wonderful vibrant tail for your shooting star with it's matching starry filling! Imagining the caped Hamster ... leaping tall buildings with a single bound p'raps? Great cartoon ... feeling a certain empathy!! LYAMYDADMA! Big hugs and bisous, Anita :)
