Emgoldened!

Hello Stamplings!

And good Monday morning to you! Or whatever time of day or night you are popping by. Beverages on the bar along the back wall and I'm thinking I'll plug in the mini-waffle iron and make a few snackies.

If you are following along with my Monday schedule or just my weekly Monday posts, you'll know I'm featuring E=mbossing today. And who doesn't like a little added gold?

Onefer
This NBUS rose embossing folder is from Sizzix. I spread gold ink on the debossed side of the folder and ran it through my Gemini. Then I added diluted gold ink to the raised areas of the roses and leaves and Hammy and Stanley, freshly back from camp, went nuts with the gold schplattering.

The stitched rectangle dies are from MFT and the die sediment is from Memory Box.

This card features an embossing folder which I first used a couple of months ago. It's called, "Gracious Leaves," from Open Studio and it strikes me as Christmassy. For the front smaller panel, I did the same technique of rubbing gold ink on the debossed side and then I painted the leaves and berries with diluted gold ink.

I added the stitched frame and the joy sediment from Memory Box, both cut from gold. To add a further touch of eleganzia framing, Hammy rubbed gold ink all around the front edge of the card.

  1. A beautiful pair of cards Darnell - love your use of gold on the embossing folders, and then added to the embossed image as well... well done to the boys on fabulous schplattering on the first card, and Hammy's expertise shows on the delicate edging of the second - I think your second card is incredibly elegant!

  21. I just love your gold highlights--on your cards, not in your hair! I've tried, but have yet to be successful, at adding golden highlights to my cards. Maybe I'll try diluting some ink or embossing paste and giving that a go. As always, thanks for the inspiration!

  22. Beautiful use of gold, Darnell. I especially love the second one with the contrast of the plain dry embossed background with the gold accented focal panel. Also love the power of words piece you included.

  30. Awesome embossing folders, Darnell!! I am in hot Florida and did NOT bring one bit of stamping supplies! We went to a private small lake in Georgia today and had a blast with the wave runners and tubes! That is until the thunder started rolling in and then the lightening and last the heavy rains. We had a place to stay under cover until everything cleared up, but then we decided to just head home. Everyone loved it though and the water was like bath temperature!! I will be so ready to get inky when I get home on Aug 3rd!!

  34. Two wonderful gold themed cards Darnell, and the roses and the leaves EFs are both so pretty with the gold highlighting, and the rose gold stitched frame on the first goes beautifully with the pink/purple coloured card, and then the brighter gold coordinating perfectly with he gold you used on the second and love the repeat embossing on the white background card, and lovely die cut sentiments on each. I have a card for this week's theme..a bit late but have not long been back from holiday and am still getting myself back to life at home. x
