Die-Cut Delights

Hello Stamplings!

How are you? I hope you are enjoying weather that finally allows you to be outside in comfort!

I'm fortunate to be having my long-time friend Cheryl visiting this week from Colorado, so this will be a quickie, but I wanted to keep up with my I.D.E.A.S. schedule. This week is D = dies.

Onefer
I really like this art-deco NBUS die from Altenew called, "Streamlined Sprig." It's very versatile when it comes to options for cutting both the outline and the inner petals. This time, I used a charcoal gray for the outline and a smooched and schplattered panel the lads made using Lindy Magicals.

I decided to use the same charcoal gray paper for the card base, an aqua mat, and a splattered creamy background panel. Something about the art-deco flowers made me want to whacky-wonk the panels on the card base before attaching the flowers and the stacked NBUS sediment from the Memory Box set called, "Cheerful Floral." I'm sorry if I gave you vertigo.

Twofer
I loved making this self-exploratory card using my
NBUS "Ornament Cover Plate" from Gina K. I used hammered cardstock, patterned paper, stitched rectangle dies, and the perfect-sized sediment from the Simon Says set, "Holiday Greetings Mix 1."

Like the die in my first card, it's easy to see how versatile this die is and how much fun it will be trying different design options with inks and pp!

Enjoy your week!
No, seriously, enjoy! LITS!*

As always, thank you for coming by to visit the Playhouse and
special thanks to you if you take the time to join as a follower!
We are off to wander downtown.

An exquisite pair of cards Darnell - love the Art Deco floral die cut - and great to see the 'boys' have mastered the art of schplatter - this is a stunning example!! Loving the wonky layers - and no, I have not been indulging in anything stronger than coffee.
The ornament card is very pretty - the patterned paper behind the die gives a real sense of movement
Blessings

What a good way to start the week--two inspirational cards! I'm pretty sure that Altenew die is in my NBUS. I'll try to put it to use this week for your Die Cuts theme. I love the ornament die which I've never seen before, and agree it's a very versatile die. Looking forward to seeing your variations on this first (very lovely!) card.

Love that you're enjoying time with your friend but can still sneak in a card or two...cards can be quick when you just use dies... and your two card Darnell are just perfect - with apertures showing off some background papers. Have a fab week, hugs Robyn

Two fabulous cards -- love whacky wonk, even if it does cause a little tipsy attitude! I love the look of that stem. And the second is fun, the coverplate is very pretty, Darnell.

P.S. Have fun with Cheryl, just don't whacky wonk her due to that pesky bee on her shirt!

A beautiful Altenew die cut flower Darnell and with lots of wonderful added splatters on the flower petals and leaves done brilliantly by your two little helpers, and what a pretty aqua mat beneath. The bauble is gorgeous and the colours are so pretty, and love the layers finishing with the stitched die as the base layer..so elegant! I do have a late entry for this weeks I.D.E.A.S. too. Hope you have had a fun week with your friend Cheryl from Colorado. x
