Getting Inky!

Hello Stamplings!

How are you? I hope you had a wonderful week!

I'm starting to picture the days of the week as bowling pins being knocked down by some rapid-fire world-class bowler! You have to admit it's hard to suck every ounce of fun out of each day when you're ducking bowling balls! 🎳

Sorry, there was no need for such a violent analogy. I'll just stick with the gentle art of card-making! Haha, we all know how violent that can be what with scissoring, squashing, slashing, stamping, scoring, stapling, stitching, and schplattering!

For this card, I CASEd myself using a card I made back in May 2020. The stamp is Banners & Blooms from Concord & 9th. After white heat-embossing the image, I painted the flowers with my Ziggies. The simple sediment is from Avery Elle.

In an effort to use more pp, I chose this watercolor plaid as a perky background. No winking of the flowers this time because the lads are staying with the neighbors while we are whooshing around and drinking at the famous bar, Hither And Yon.

And here we have a very QACAS card. I found the skyline stamped on a white panel in BOB. I have no idea what stamp I used at the time and I no longer own it. Just to be different, I masked the panel with a strip of tape and ink-blended a rainbow-colored sky. A sediment and some bling and walla: Rainbow City!

Enjoy your week! No, seriously, enjoy! LITS!*

W
atch out for flying bowling pins!

As always, thank you for coming by to visit the Playhouse

Your watercolor card is just beautiful, Darnell! Perfect background paper, too. :) Fun find in your BOB pile on the second card. Got a good giggle at your joke, too. Happy start of the week and the month, my friend!

Loving your tranquil pastel first card and the clean and graphic lines of your second.
I don't know where the days are going either!!! Last time I looked it was May! I'm all behind with my 2024 Christmas card quota!!
Happy Monday

Those flowers are so feminine and pretty and play so well with the plaid paper! How beautiful! And your rainbow city is looks like a happy place to live! Enjoy!

You come up with the most amazing analogies, and I totally relate to the bowling pin image! I love that plaid paper and the way you used it as a narrow frame for that beautiful floral arrangement. I'm taking note of that design detail. Your ink blended sky is amazing--not sure I could ever get such straight and even stripes! Have a great week!

Two fab cards Darnell, love the DP for your first, a perfect fit for those pretty watercoloured blooms. Masking off the panel to create the rainbow was a stroke of genius! :)

Your pun meme at the end had me chuckling, Darnell. Great way to start my day. Love your Zig painted panel and the patterned paper looks great with it. Great idea to make a rainbow background for the cityscape. Who wouldn't love to see that.

The cheery colors in these cards made me smile the moment I saw them. Love your Ziggy art work. Those flowers are gorgeous. But I love the rainbow sky, too. Oh how lovely it would be if all our cities had rainbow skies...

Your cards are fun and perky, just what one needs instead of dodging bowling balls! Pretty water coloring, and fabulous rainbow sky, Darnell. And as for walla, I made a side-trip to Walla Walla (yes....) yesterday to craft with a friend - just what the Dr ordered!

I gasped at your first card, it's so gorgeous! Love that watercolor plaid to go with your beautifully watercolored flowers. Wowie, you sure did get inky for your second card, and BOB came through for you again with the cool skyline. Have fun on your meanderings!

AMAZING watercolouring of those pretty flowers on your first card. I love the plaid paper for the background. Your second card is so clever. I love your idea of masking strips to create a rainbow background. xx

I love the first card with the pretty flowers white embossed and some beautiful colour added, and the watercolour look to the plaid paper background is just divine. The second with the rainbow stripes of bright colour over the outline skyline is such a great idea Darnell, and the added gems and sentiment are perfect finishing touches. I do have a card for this weeks I.D.E.A.S., but I know that you are probably too busy to be thinking about anything to do with cards..enjoy the break. x

I just had to pop in and tell you how beautiful your first card is - I used to have a blog but found it took too much of my time. I am addicted to Art Impression little water colors but your beautiful card is calling me "Sandy, make this card!" Bravo Darnell!!
