Hello Stamplings!

Happy Febrrrrrrary! I always feel sorry for the Cupids out there in parts of the world where it is freezing cold. Their poor quivers!

This is a quick post as we have company coming for a few days. I'm not sure if I will be able to post next Monday, so I went with a Valentine for you today:
This week the IDEAS schedule is I = "Ink" and next week it's D = "Dies," so I've covered them both with this card. My featured NBUS today are the dog and mouse from "Wishing You Happiness," by Anita Jeram for the Colorado Craft Company.

(Am I the only one who buys a popular stamp set and then doesn't use it right away because it's being used by everyone? Then, you know, years go by ... so dumb, but hey, the important thing is to eventually use them!🙃)

I die-cut the stitched heart (from Cottage Cutz) and removed it from the panel. Placing it on a piece of scrap paper, I stamped the splotches using spritzed Distress Inks. I put the painted heart back in its original place, taped it at the back, and stamped the two arteests. The critters and brushes were lightly painted with my Ziggies.

Then I sent Hammy and Stanley deep into the pp drawers and they found a piece that perfectly matched the pink and red inks I used. I die cut and stacked the love word (from My Creative Time) and then used the same piece as a mat. That was attached to a white card base so you'd never know the mat paper has part of it missing where the die was cut.🤫 Playing in:

Addicted to Stamps and More (diecuts and/or stencils),
Cut It Up (have a heart),
Color Hues (pink and red collaboration with Inkspirational),

~~~
Enjoy your day! No, seriously, enjoy! LITS!*
As always, thank you for coming by to visit the Playhouse and special thanks to you if you take the time to join as a follower!
*Life is too short!
  2. A fun take on the Valentine card Darnell. I agree, we see all these fab new sets then have to have them, then don't know how to use them. At least the fact that most US stuff is still hard to get over here keeps me from adding to the NEBUS mountain! So pleased you found the time to share at Color Hues too. :)
  5. Wonderful card, Darnell. I hear you about having to have it and then not using it. Good thing it came up in your rotation. This card is adorable! Have fun with your guests!
  6. You know that I do the same thing. There's just not enough play time to get to it all. It's evidently much easier and quicker to order new things! This is worth waiting for, Dolly! I love how the mice are painting the splotches and the you found patterned paper that is the perfect match!
  9. Darling! Love the use of the schplats to show them painting the town, er heart, red -- this is very cute indeed! As for purchasing, then not using the stamps for awhile, I believe it's the other half of the curse where we can order something immediately, have it delivered to our door, then forgot what the inspiration was.... nope, that's not my problem...
  11. Hi dear Darnell. Love your card, I've just used a die set that I've had for I don't know how long... but it's not because everyone else is using it but because watched a video that reminded me I had it! 😂
    Enjoy your visitors... and have a great break. Praying for you for God's blessings
    Prayer hugs, Shaz in Oz.x
  18. Darnell, I don't even want to count how many stamps/dies, etc. I've purchased, set aside and promptly forgot about as my eyes twinkle with the thrill of getting more new stuff that...well, you know...sits and waits for a play date. Your artsy mouse and pup, splattering the heart, are absolutely adorable! A wonderful twist on a Love/Valentine card that has me smiling! I'm delighted that you're sharing this in both the Colour Hues and Inkspirational galleries. I'm even more thrilled that you like this collaboration; it's definitely a win-win for both challenges (and lucky me to be on both teams, too).
    We're at -33C today...just a 'bit' cold! ACK!
  21. Fabulous Valentine, Darnell - love the stitched heart with the splats done by the two adorable artists. But as a dog person, I really must point out that the one on the left is a dog, not a mouse!! Congratulations to Hammy and Stanley for finding the most perfect paper for the background and sentiment!
  23. I love the artistic abandon depicted on this card. those splatters are defiinitely a work of art! This is a fun Valentine. It makes me want to go out and buy some splatter stamps (for my NBUS pile, of course). Then I'll use them in a few years. lol
    Great card.
    There's usually no buying and not using! I am always late to the party with new to me stuff! I tend to buy when the rush is over!
  28. I fear far too many of us understand exactly how some stamps and dies "disappear" into the stash, and suddenly you realize how very long they've lingered there before getting their share of crafty time. I love these adorable mice, and your splatters are particularly artistic and beautiful! What a fun valentine! Thanks for playing with us at Color Hues--and inspiring all of us regularly!
  33. I'm guilty of that very thing, Darnell, but it's never too late to play with something as timelessly cute as these critters. Beautifully done with the splats and papers which I couldn't help but assume were inky as well. What a match, and a cute, cute card! The cartoon is hilariously perfect for your blog!
  36. Darnell I love that you chose to have your mice splatter paint on the heart--so much fun! The love die with the black shadow makes such a statement. Really sweet card! Thank you so much for sharing with us at the Color Hues!
  37. Love this Valentine's card. Those critters don't seem to be the most precise painters but I suspect they are having fun being crafty. The background peeking out is lovely and good for you for die cutting the sentiment from it. This ties things together. Thanks for joining our challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More!
