Tickled Pink on Fun Foam

Hello Stamplings!

It's lovely to be here and I hope you're doing great! I hope the team you (or your mate) were rooting for won the Super Bowl.🏈 I'm surprised they haven't made the Monday after a national day off!

Our plans changed last week due to the rain, so I had some unexpected crafty playtime with the lads. Squee for all!

Onefer
This week's I.D.E.A.S. letter is D = Dies and my first NBUS feature is the smallest feather stamp and die in the Feather Finery set by Papertrey Ink. The NBUS sediment is from the same set. I would have preferred "pickled tink," but we'll just pretend it says that.

The second NBUS feature product is the Pink Fresh "Dotted Chevron" cover plate. Stanley honed his blending skills with CP ink and we used colored paperπŸ‘for the card base. Playing in:
Cut It Up! ~ this makes me smile
Twofer
Looking for the Onefer cover plate, I ran across this framed heart die from Reverse Confetti. Just last week when Hammy and Stanley were looking for a specific pp, they came across my stash of fun foam and asked if we could use it soon ... πŸ’‘click!

I had forgotten all about fun foam and it cut like a dream with this die. I attached it to a hammered card panel and then added some funky flat bling from GKW. I used a simple 'Hi' sediment so I can use it for any number of occasions. Playing in:

Obfuscation

You know how I love words and playing with words. I think it's fun except when companies do it in an effort to make something deliberately unclear, pull the wool over my eyes, or pee on my leg and tell me it's raining.

An email from a well-known company just arrived, saying they are going to "update" our pricing soon. Update? How about they just say they are going to "increase" our pricing soon (again) and leave it at that? I resent being treated like I'm too ignorant to see through it.

But that's the way of the world now.

So when you have your next annual physical and the doctor comments on what's been happening with your weight, just smile innocently and say, "That's not an increase, doctor. That's an update!"

Oh, and another thing. For those of us of a certain age who are shrinking vertically, why doesn't the doctor ever factor THAT into the math when he mentions our weight? I'm a little over 5'3" now, but I was once three inches taller. If my current weight were on a frame 5'6" tall, the doctor would be telling me to eat more!!πŸ”

Enjoy your week! No, seriously, enjoy! LITS!*

As always, thank you for coming by to visit the Playhouse and special thanks to you if you take the time to join as a follower!

*Life is too short!

  9. Darnell, that heart cover plate is the best!!! What a cool "hammered" card panel...where does one get that?!!!! I forget about the foam too and need to use it more often. Your posts are so fun to read. Love the card you entered and thanks for playing at Just Us Girls!

  10. Two darling fun foam cards, Darnell - love the feathers on card one and that heart background stole my heart - ha, ha. I know what you mean about shrinkage, although I'd have to be about 8 ft tall to be ok for my weight - yikes!

  11. Love your feathers card in pink. Wonder where my fun foam is...

  12. Great cards, love that coverplate chevron die. Might have to look that one up. Great use of fun foam on your second card too. I used to use it a lot, but not so much now. Funny how we change xx

  13. Ha! There have been a lot of price "updates" this year already. Aside from the everyday commodities, we've had significant mobile phone, internet, and auto insurance updates to name a few. If only our retiree income would update to match, sheesh. Well, anyway... I'm in my happy place at the moment and enjoying your cards. The first is all pretty in tickly pink. I like how you've done just the bit of shading at the top. I can't help but love those puffy hearts on your second card. That's a super cute and simple die. It's a kick to come across things while digging in your stash!

  14. I have a pile of foam but nothing as pretty as your bright red, Darnell. So glad the guys suggested it. Your feathers and chevrons work together to make a wonderful card. So sorry your plans changed but glad it gave you time to get into the playhouse.

  17. Love that heart cover plate! You made a great card with it. My best friend ordered some Valentine cards from me so I've really been drawn to different ideas I've seen on people's blogs. Your feather card is lovely. The dotted chevron makes a great background. Loved your rant on updates vs increases!

  18. Love the feather card! It looks so light and I love the contrast between the background and those feathers. Hugs, Gerrina

  19. Love your cards--I thought the sentiment with the lovely feathers was just perfect--and I love your red fun foam hearts. I have a whole drawer of fun foam. I forget why I bought it, but you inspire me to come up with some ways to use it.

  20. Both are fun cards!
The foam worked wonderfully for your hearts!

  24. Both cards are fantastic! I love your perfect ink blending with the feathers. Your heart card with the fun foam is totally fabulous! I love the dimension, bling and the hammered cardstock base. I agree with the height and weight comparison, too. So glad you joined us at JUGS!

  25. ❤️❤️❤️ Both of these cards are fantastic! What about telling the MD that you are just "down sizing"? 😁 Hope you have a great week! Cheers, Makira

  26. Such pretty feathers that pickling me tink, my friend! I'm sure the boys had lots of fun playing with that foam and making a fantastic valentine! I do love the way you think! My weight is constantly updating. I wish it would downdate!

  27. These are both terrific cards. I love the fun foam Valentine. The "lads" did a great job. In the case of prices going up, what goes up no longer comes down.

  28. Your foray into foamland reminded me that I have some of the very thin stuff that can be cut into flowers and then each petal stretched a bit after a quick warming with a heat gun. It gives the petals a realistic look. I think I'll try to find some time to play with that foam again. As always, thanks for the inspiration!
P.S. I love words, too. And I love reading your "mixmanagement" of them. he he

  31. I love you your pickled tink card, it's beautiful and love the background too. Thank you so much for joining us in our challenge at We Love Stamping. Good Luck and I hope you will join us in our next challenge.

As for the Updates, I quite agree with you, is it me or do the youngsters actually believe it's an update? My SiL, taught her children to use the beginning of words backwards. The best for me was Runny Babbit. As for the weight comparison. I must remember that hahaha

  32. what wonderful feathery feathers you used with the pink sis! I think you need to cut up that sentiment and stamp it the way you want it (!) And yes - I have a box full of fun foam that has not seen much fun in several years - it's hiding in the attic which shows it has been quite ignored - your hearts look so puffy in the foam! Julia xx

  33. I missed this at JUGS! That fun foam worked beautifully with your die. Fabulous card my friend! Thanks for joining in at JUGS 😊

  34. Ah, you are ver tically challenged too - so far I have lost an inch, and now the grandies are towering over me.... 3 inches is a lot to loose.
Loving your cards Darnell - I know I have not been around blogland a lot of late, but hopefully i will get back into the swing of it. There have been other crafts calling my name wanting to be done, completed etc...
    Blessings

  35. Sorry I didn't get to comment on this one for some reason. I love the pretty feathers on the Dotted Chevron coverplate and a sweet sentiment to go with that lovely pink ink blended background. The second lovely large heart covered frame works well cut from the fun foam and the added bits of bling finish it beautifully. x
