Happy Easter, Bunnies!

Hello Stamplings,

I hope you're having a good day and maybe even a wonderful vacation if the kids or grandkids are off on spring break from school!

I don't know what's gotten into me. I'm normally an uber-CAS card designer. A tiny image of a frog and a sediment made a card, or maybe a bevy of mature ladies holding up a bar with their elbows, etc. Hence the term QACAS for quick and clean and simple. But this past week, when I have a million other things to do to prep for company, me and the lads decided to try scene building!

Onefer
This is week two of April, so the I.D.E.A.S. Calendar is D = Dyes. Ha ha, see what I did there? Did you dye your Easter eggs yet? Of course not. Eggs are too expensive.

The wooden fence is a piece of pp and the grass was made using a NBUS stencil from Waffle Flower and then painted. The fence hole is a stitched oval and the sediment is a sticker, propped up. The hanging leaves are from Altenew's "Leaf Canopy," still one of my favorite leaf stamps and dies.

This Paper Smooches bunny has clearly been working a triple shift or else she is over-sampling the liquor cabinet, but we don't judge. And I think you can see that the lads did a bang-up job winking up the place!

I'm playing in the Inkspirational Challenge where the mood board is decorated Easter eggs and in Inspired By ... Bunnies

Besides the white snippets used for the leaves, bunny, and grass, I used lots of pp snippets for the eggs, so I am hopping over to the Snippets Playground with this card. There will be a perpetual Easter egg hunt this week and lots of eggnog.

Wait. What? Isn't eggnog for Christmas? Turns out the original eggnog recipe dated 1482 has just been unearthed and the eggs used in the recipe were removed from their shells by a small blow hole, so the shells could then be beautifully decorated for Easter!  (Source: a very small AI encyclopedia located in the core of my brain.)

Ah, what an idealick springtime scene this is, combining old and new. I started by stamping the NBUS hill and tree line stamp from Stacy Yacula's MFT stamp set called, "Scene Builder." The clouds and the stamped grass and flowers are from the same set. After stamping the horizon, I fussy-cut a mask and blended the grass and sky. I think the wee bunnies are from PTI and the sediment is from GKW.

This stamp set is from 2019 and I couldn't wait to use it. But then it came and I asked myself why I ordered it because, as I said, I've never been much of an all-over scene-builder kind of card designer. Turns out it's really fun and there are more stamps I haven't used, so hopefully it won't be six years before I do another landscape.

Challenges

Addicted to Stamps and More: Die Cuts and/or Stencils.
NBUS: A/G using never before used schtuff.
Shopping Our Stash: Hippity Hop.

Happy Passover and Happy Easter to you all! Enjoy this time with your family if you are fortunate to be together! I'm resharing this fun photo of the grandtwins I ran across yesterday ... which is when it seems like this was taken!

I.D.E.A.S. Calendar:  D = Dies

You will find a linky tool below for you to share your creations using dies. Your card may help motivate and lift others out of their creative schlump or just give someone a design idea of their own! I love seeing what you create, visiting you, and pinning your designs!

Thank you so much to everyone who shared their designs last week! Mwah!

Wonderful Springy Easter cards Darnell - love that slightly woozy bunny in the first card, and all the various snippets you all used - those boys are really coming on well with your training :) i am sure they deserve and Easter egg each!
I am not a 'scene' cardmaker either, but I do love this. I don't see Hammy or Stanley peeping up there at all - are they being kept inside for their own health and safety?.
Blessings

Look at you go, building scenes and drinking eggnog in April! So much fun! I hope you have a wonderful time with your company. Thanks for trying something a little new and different for you! Looks great!

Such cute cards, Darnell. My project this week uses dies to cut the panels out, so while they may not be intricate, I think they qualify? If not, just disregard the link I'll add on Wednesday xoxo

Two fantastic scenes, Dolly! You and the boys have outdone yourselves! I LOVE that dizzy bunny. I think he may have bumped his head trying to get through the fence hole! The second card reminds me of our yard with the bunnies hopping around. It does seem like yesterday that the boys were this age. It makes me dizzy to think about it!

I really like to make a scene and you've built two super Easter Bunny ones here. It is fun to break away from the norm now and then

Ha! Your bunny's eyes look just like a sleep-mask my granddaughter wears! So fun, D! Wait. I think I TOO bought that scene builder stamp set... did it get buried with the Christmas goodies? I'd better look because you've certainly shown how adorable it is with these little hoppers!
I make a wonderful egg-nog-esque drink called Coquito which is made with coconut and rum with a dash of cinnamon that I'm sure the lads could help with - seems like an Easter cocktail to me! x Happy Easter bunny-hunches!

You built some wonderful scenes for sure, Darnell! Love them both. I also love the source for your eggnog fact!

Two brilliant Easter scenes Darnell and I love the different bunnies you have chosen with the quite goofy one on the first..definitely looks a bit worse for wear..lol, and the background fence pp and the leaves and grass and the bright and pretty added eggs all finish the scene so well. The second is the epitome of a beautiful spring scene with the sweet little bunnies and the stamped and coloured scene with the fluffy white clouds in the sky is perfect! x

Ack, I love all your bunnies, especially the funny bunny peeking through the fence in your first card. Turns out you have the perfect stamp for scene building 'cause your hilly bunny landscape is so cute and it looks easy to use. Now I'm thinking I have to look up some insta-scene stamps like this. There you go enabling again. I have to empty out the NBUS baskets a little more first, sigh. I'm working on it. Happy upcoming Easter!

Your scene cards are awesome Dolly!! I have to admit, I rarely make them anymore ... I did it more when I used to brayer backgrounds. I also bought a stamp set a year or two ago for making scenes, and it's sitting in my NBUS box. :) Anyways, love your cards with the adorable bunnies. I'm sharing my card for this week's IDEAS challenge. I pulled out my Zigs which I don't use near enough. xx

I'm not much of a scene builder either, Darnell, but sometimes challenges and our stamps and dies just call for one. I love that bunny peeking through the hole in the fence. So fun as are the multi-colored decorated eggs. I really do like the painted hills and sky and can see that for a lot of backgrounds.

Two lovely bunny designs sis! The buck toothed bunny cracked me up - poking his head through the fence and eyeing the colorful eggs, and your hillside scene is so sweet with the 3 bunnies enjoying the sunny countryside! Thanks for joining us at Inkspirational: Moodboard! Julia xx
