Kevin and I flew to Barcelona the end of August. We enjoyed a day and night there and a visit to the Sagrada Familia.
The next day Kevin embarked on a weeklong IMT motorcycle tour of the Pyrenees!
While Kevin was on his tour, I flew from Barcelona to Bordeaux to spend time with my bloggie friend Anita:
Anita and I and her little cat Nibble had a wonderful relaxing week catching up. After his tour, Kevin flew to Bordeaux and joined us for a day. Anita literally made Kevin's dreams come true when she introduced him to a vending machine that delivered a fresh-baked baguette for only one Euro!!
A man in love!
And I just have to share this one separately. Anita and I were walking one day in the village and we literally came across a "doggie in the window!" I still chuckle every time I think about it!
We said goodbye to Anita and then Kevin and I leisurely drove through the Vendée countryside, ending up on the west coast at Les Sables-d'Olonne where we stayed for several days. We had an amazing time!
I've put together these collages of some of our photos.
We ended our holiday by driving the rental car back to Bordeaux, taking a day-long train from Bordeaux to Barcelona, and then taking a 12-hour flight from Barcelona back home to San Francisco. Planes, trains, and automobiles!

Beautiful photos. Looks like a fantastic trip. I saw the picture of you and Anita and was so happy for you to be able to see Anita in France!! (saw the picture before I read your post). :)
What a wonderful trip, Dolly! I was relieved to see that Kevin rented a car to go to the coast and didn't make you ride on a motorcycle! Gorgeous scenery!
Sounds like you both had a wonderful vacation, and the pics are awesome Darnell! Anita looks great too and so glad you could spend time with her. Hugs. :0)
This looks fantastic and I am very envious, and Kevin got a wonderful biking holiday too, and great that you got to spend time with Anita, and then with Kevin through the Vendee, and of course time in Barcelona. The photo montage is wonderful Darnell. x

Amazing photos of your glorious trip, Dolly! LOVE the history and architecture of the buildings, and the lush countryside. So happy you both had a wonderful time with each of you having a special time on your own too. Thanks for sharing fantastic photos!! Love, Lolly
What a marvelous time you must have had, Darnell. I'm so glad you got to spend some time with Anita. She looks like she's doing well.
Your little rascals missed you as much as you missed them and they did a great job following your directions with the scattering of Magicals.
I have turned a very bright shade of green after looking at your photos. I have complete travel envy, especially for France - probably my favourite country to visit. I want a baguette machine down the road from me!!!
Wow! What an amazing trip, and a motorcycle ride too! The photos are gorgeous, and seeing Anita was a blessing too -- I do miss her being around...
What a fantastic holiday! We used to spend holidays in the Les SablesD’Olonne area when my boys were small

What a fantastic trip. It's great Kevin got to do his trip and you and Anita got to visit, then both of you got to have a great trip together. The buildings are awesome and the scenery is great. The doggie in the window is the cutest thing ever but now I have that song in my head! Thanks for sharing these.
Wow, I loved seeing all these pictures! And isn't that La
Sagrada Familia so special? I loved all your pictures, you really have an eye for capturing perfect images, doesn't matter if it is clouds or water (streams, ponds, rivers!) All good!! I am glad you had a great time with Anita, and I would love that vending machine...kind of dangerous though!! (:
Just looked at your pictures again...love them. Am glad you had this wonderful trip. Lucky you seeing Anita. I miss her.
